Headcanon that whenever someone tried to hit on Will. He'd pull out the skull ring from underneath his shirt and say: "I'm engaged."

As a joke, and IT ACTUALLY WORKS. So he uses the method ALL the time, when a new camper tries to hit on him. It becomes muscle memory everytime someone walks up to him with the intention to flirt.

He does it enough for it to spread around camp. Not well known, but Conner hears about the deal and walks over to Nico to ask about his engagement with Will.

And Nico's like: ??? "What engagement." It just eventually turns to a different kind of topic of conversation but whatever.

It's even funnier when a camper walks up to Will who's next to Nico, and she's clearly trying to ask him out. And he pulls out the skull ring and says I'm engaged without thinking, and Nico is WIDE-EYED.

He stays silent about it, but he's thinking about it all the TIME. It's hillarious. Eventually he decides he'll make it offical and actually propose to him, because Will's already deep into the lie so like.

It would make sense, since he would bend light to not BOUNCE on him but more of.. Avoid him. So he'd technically be more shadowy like in a way. (Since without light hitting a surface it creates a shadow.)

But it's harder to see him, because he has light avoiding him constantly you wouldn't know he passed you already. 🤷‍♀️

I love this idea it's genius.

Considering Will's light powers I am pretty sure he also discovers he can turn invisible at one point.

So that makes Solangelo and Percabeth the only two couples who can get freaky at camp. YES YES EXACTLY. They eventually do work it out when Will actually gets confirmation from Hades; that Nico is free to roam around considering he IS a son of Hades.

And he can't stop him. 🤷‍♀️ Like I said, they'd have to claw/destroy his spirit to detach him from Will.

But purely because Will is feeling over the fact that his boyfriend is dead, and clearly his anxiety levels went sky high, that's when the ring comes in.

His spirit will reside in the ring that is practically the bane of his existence. (He can leave and return back to the ring at any given moment.) And Nico reassures that he'll be there to protect him. Because being by his side surrounded by enemies was his happiest than being in Elysium without Will.

So taking that. 😭 Will finds his anxiety calming down, when he appears out of the ring.

That man was NOT expecting to leave the living earth so early but is one hundred percent willing to die for Will, mind you.

And considering he doesn't have a physical body anymore and is considered dead, the fates can't exactly do anything "life-threatening" to him, now that he has found a loop-hole.

Obviously being a spirit has it's pros and cons. With enough will-power.. (Pun.) In theory (and maybe fact in TSATS.) he could channel his energy to materialize enough to actually hold Will's hand.

Maybe he won't be able to fully materielize his ghostly body, but he'll take hand-holding as enough.

That is until at some point some camper points out that eating a pomegranate could tie you to the underworld forever. Telling them about Persephone and Hades and how they wouldn't go near pomegranates ever. To somewhat shake Will into not eating it.

And Nico is of course a bit offended by it or upset. Because those pomegranates gave him chances at living when stuck in the jar.

And it also reminds that Hades kids are still seen as scary monsters from the underworld.

He expects Will to slowly put down the pomegranates. Having a slight bit of doubt.

But then they get Will staring dead eye at the offenders and eating the entire pomegranate. As symbol of forever being tied to the underworld. Eating an entire pomegranate could either mean forever trapped in the underworld and Nico is FROM the underworld. That's his home, that's where he originates, that's what he's made from. And Will knowing that fact, just doesn't care.

And all that doubt goes away.
