Este fin de semana voy a estar junto con naitmeer en la Galería Pop Up por la Peatonal Sarandí (･ω<)☆

Vamos a estar en nuestro stand vendiendo stickers, llaveros, prints, libros y pinturas originales ¡Espero que puedan visitarnos! :D

La dirección es Sarandí 320. En Recreo, Ciudad Vieja, Montevideo, Uruguay. Horario de 12 a 18 horas, sábado 23 de Agosto.

Me puse a hacer una copia de seguridad de mis dibujos, y mientras hacía eso encontré una pintura de Nephli y Zael que hice a principios de 2021. Recuerdo que no me había gustado como quedó y la borré poco después de subirla, pero cada tanto me acordaba de ella. Es como que me había copado con la idea que tenía, pero al crearla no logré alcanzar el nivel que esperaba. Creo que eso es algo normal que le pasa a los artistas: a medida que vamos practicando hay un punto en que aún no somos capaces de reproducir sobre el papel la imagen que tenemos metida en la cabeza. Es como volver a empezar de cero.

La volví a hacer, reutilizando texturas y colores que ya estaban en la original, pero cambiando un poco las formas y proporciones. Me parece que me gusta un poco más ahora.

En este momento tengo la novela sobre estos personajes otra vez en un concurso. No creo que vaya a ganar (pero se puede soñar). Igual no me voy a rendir en seguir intentando publicarla 👁️

I was doing a backup of my drawings, and while doing so, I found a painting of Nephli and Zael that I did at the beginning of 2021. I remember not liking how it turned out and deleting it shortly after uploading it, but every now and then I'd think about it. It's like I was hooked on the idea I had, but when I created it, I couldn't reach the level I had hoped for. I think that's something normal that happens to artists: as we practice, there comes a point where we're still not able to reproduce on paper the image we have in our heads. It's like going back to starting from zero.

I've remade it, reusing textures and colors that were already in the original, but changing the shapes and proportions a bit. I think I like it a little more now.

At this very moment, I have the novel about these characters in another contest. I don't think I'll win (but I can dream). Still, I'm not going to give up at trying to publish it 👁️

Some commissions. The first illustration is a scene I drew for jadewares inspired by their character's backstory. The second one is a YCH for Vipers_bite. The third one is a custom character design I made for j_uwu_les.

Me dijo mi mamá que tendría que volver a pintar más aves 🐦 así que aproveché para reutilizar un lienzo viejo que encontré tirado en el sótano e hice esta pintura al óleo 🕊️

Es un achará (Stilpnia preciosa) en un arbusto de baporetí (Plinia rivularis).

Tengo otro lienzo más grande en el que estoy pensando hacer una pintura de una bandada de chiripepe, pero esa probablemente me va a tomar más tiempo.

My mom told me I should paint more birds again🐦 so I took the opportunity to reuse an old canvas I found lying around in the basement and made this oil painting 🕊️

It's an achará (Stilpnia preciosa) on top of a baporetí shrub (Plinia rivularis).

I have another larger canvas that I'm thinking of using for a painting of a flock of chiripepe, but that's probably going to take longer.

Muchas gracias a todos los que pasaron por nuestro stand, a los que compraron de nuestros stickers, llaveros, pins y más, y a los que ayer me saludaron por mi cumpleaños :D

Terminamos todos tremendamente agotados (fueron más de 40 hs de trabajo en 4 días 🛌), pero también creemos que fue una muy buena experiencia para nosotros. Esta es la primera vez que participamos de un evento así y que tenemos un stand. Así que también queremos agradecer a Movimiento ArtesUy por organizarlo y a el Radisson Victoria Plaza por poner el lugar :] Y también a las personas de los otros stands por toda la buena onda!

Con naitmeer decidimos que vamos a seguir con este emprendimiento, y si todo va bien tal vez estemos participando en algo que va a ser en Agosto y otro en Octubre. Así que más adelante les estaré dando más información al respecto 😊

Many thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth, to those who bought our stickers, keychains, pins and more, and to those who congratulated me yesterday for my birthday :D

We all ended up incredibly exhausted (it was more than 40 hours of work in 4 days 🛌), but we also believe it was a very good experience for us. This is the first time we've participated in an event like this and had a booth. So we'd also like to thank Movimiento ArtesUy for organizing it and the Radisson Victoria Plaza for providing the venue :) And also the people at the other booths for all the good vibes!

naitmeer and I decided we're going to continue with this entrepreneurship, and if all goes well, we might be participating in something in August and something else in October. So I'll be sharing more information about that later 😊
