For this: No other will than his for nathaniel wesninski who joined the ravens. nobody really knows who His will is. kengo? nathan? tetsuji? riko? they all believe their own will and nathaniel lets them believe in whatever they want obviously but the truth is that these mottoes are all absolute bs that nobody really adheres to and the ravens all know that.

the version of mrs moriyama that lives in my head showed up one day in the back of a crowd or the lobby of a nice office or the worst seat in a loud restaurant and shot a man dead or stabbed him between the ribs or stomped his jaw into a curb or did all three of those things in all three of those places repeatedly and in different combinations until kengo was so impressed he put her on his payroll and then married her within the year, or at least that's how she tells it to ichirou when he's very young and romantic. and she never goes farther back than the first meeting; the story is never just about her and the parts that are change every time.
#mrs moriyama#kengo moriyama#i do think for sure she married kengo willingly and maybe didn't know the extent of what she was getting into but definitely went in willin#which to me is the important part.#i don't know what people in general imagine mrs moriyama's deal is but i don't like the idea of her as innocent#i think at best (morality wise) she's kind of odysseus esque

Okay Riko/Andrew I just know Riko could make him so much worse.
All that violence, that loyalty? He would make of Andrew the perfect guard dog
I LOVEEE THAT. i've already talked about nathaniel as riko's guard dog, but andrew. That's just.. UGH i love it. they'd be so toxic... ❤️

i love you female characters who make selfish choices they know will be bad for everyone. i love you female characters who think they're making the right choice but make things worse. i love you female characters who are making the right choice but noone else understands it.

i do love thinking about ichirou's daddy issues but i do also think it'd be fun to talk about nathan's hypothetical daddy issues sometimes
not to mix my fandoms but in horror podcast malevolent a character called The Butcher ties the protagonist to a chair in a basement for torture/murder purposes. and after the protagonist escapes and confronts The Butcher he says something along the lines of "daddy should've taught you to tie a better knot boyo" and calls him a dog. so anyway i think this could be an interesting dynamic for ichirou moriyama and nathan wesninski to have. just a thought.

This is literally what I was doing instead of sleeping. Drawing goddamn perfect court!AU. I need to submit portfolio for Academy on Monday which I didn't do and that's what I was doing for the past 10 hours
Also, was this something I remember from fanfic, or did Riko actually carve his name on Neil during his evermore arc in canon? Did it happen??? Even if it's not canon I'll still save it for my perfect court au, but I need to know

on the other hand, i'm also deeply compelled by a transfemme ichirou who for strategic reasons is keeping it quiet until anyone who can do anything about it croaks
transmasc ichirou is not necessarily a hc i hold to be true but nonetheless it compels me

objectively funny because it indicates the moriyamas are trans inclusive in their firstborn sons thing and also because at some point riko would've been the firstborn son before ichirou came out and usurped him. literally the funniest way to get one up on your sibling.
transmasc ichirou is not necessarily a hc i hold to be true but nonetheless it compels me

would riko come for his kid even though neil is hiding that he is the father? love the kayleighing that neil is doing
Context
Riko would definitely come for his kid once it comes out that Neil is pregnant (especially if it's a boy). But that would make the child a First Born son, so that brings us to the question, would Ichirou take the kid from Riko and Neil? Would they resist? I mean, I know Neil would, but would Riko let it happen? Would history repeat itself and Neil go back on the run? So many questions...

you must always think about a mentor figure exploiting the power imbalance with their mentee. and you must sexualise it as well. otherwise a gazillion hungry angels are going to hell

another reason i like to hc mary as half or fully chinese which is purely personal to me is that i feel like there's a specific tone of voice i've heard people use when expressing strong emotion in chinese that's like. borderline haunting to me. which i associate with mary. and i can imagine her speaking like that and it's honestly heartbreaking
#imagining every interaction between her and neil where she's yelling at him/making him promise things/afraid of losing him through the lens#of mary using that specific tone of voice in chinese#sobbing screaming throwing up etc etc#mary hatford

Something that drives me insane about Mary is that while I find the ending to her story (getting murdered by the man who made her entire adult life hell) to be profoundly depressing there is some sense of justice and satisfaction on the fact that Nathan and his inner circle take pleasure in torture and in desecrating and disposing corpses and while they caught her they couldn't keep her. They didn't even know she was dead until they kidnapped Neil. And neither did the Hatfords! She didn't want to stay with them in life and so she doesn't stay with them in death either. Her ashes are scattered in the beach and no one is ever going to trap her again.
#extremely true#cannot get over her#mary hatford#also i feel like it gets talked about with neil a lot but not as much with mary#the fact that she never really got to have a place that was Home#she left her parent's house for nathan's and then nathan's to run with neil but ultimately there's nowhere she goes back to#which i think fits in with her unwillingness to be trapped but it's also deeply tragic that she never has the opportunity to stay willingly#reverse odyssey where she keeps running away from and not toward what would be her home

i know some people don't like that neil kevin and jean are all bound to the moriyamas by the end of the first trilogy but personally i support that. diversity win the mafia group taking eighty percent of your income for the rest of your career is asian-owned and operated.
