so my best friend found out she’s pregnant today,,,

she’s always assured me that if this happened she’d terminate since she’s not ready yet but she said that she now doesn’t know what to do

idk what to say to her because as understanding as i’m trying to be i don’t know how to react if she ends up trying to keep it,

she can’t even afford her rent right now and as much as i like her bf he’s kind of a liability money-wise

she’s in her final year of uni and has no family to financially support her, the only reason she isn’t homeless right now is because of student finance

realistically i don’t think she’ll keep it but it’s so difficult trying to console her over the situation without giving any sway to one outcome or the other which is what i’m trying to do

tbh i think im just a much better communicator in person so messaging her abt it is pretty stressful but she’s in a much more stressful situation rn so i can’t exactly complain anywhere but here

i’m just worried if she asks my opinion that i’ll upset her if i answer honestly but i’m just getting ahead of myself for no reason.

I’m so picky about what romantic tropes I like. I just woke up so none of this is articulate but my friend was talking to me yesterday and she said ‘don’t you just LOVE friends to lovers’ and like… no lol. Obviously there are exceptions- I love the bickering friends trope/mutual annoyance or when friends organically fall in love over time in a way that’s subtle and sweet. Anything written well can change my mind! But usually I hate the friends to lovers trope because they always have some weird kinda aphobic rhetoric to them??? I don’t know if I’m explaining myself properly, but friends to lovers media usually sprinkles in some weird sentiments about ‘true love’ and gender that I don’t care for

Here, a cheater course on caring for natural fibers!

1. Wool. Treat it like it has the delicate constitution of a Victorian lady and the conviction that baths are evil of a 17th century noble. (If I get in WATER my PORES will OPEN and I will CATCH ILL AND DIE.)

2. Cotton; easygoing. Will shrink a bit if washed and dried hot.

3. Silk; people think it’s like wool and has the constitution of a fashionably dying of consumption Victorian lady, but actually it’s quite tough. Can be washed in an ordinary washer, and either tumbled dry without heat or hung to dry.

4. Linen; it doesn’t give a shit. Beat the hell out of it. Historically was laundered by dousing it in lye and beating the shit out of it with wooden paddles, which only makes it look better. The masochist of the natural fiber world. Beat the fuck out of it linen doesn’t care. Considerably stronger than cotton. Linen sheet sets can last literal decades in more or less pristine shape because of that strength.The most likely natural fiber to own a ball gag.
