A Learning from Information
We study. We learn. We discover things that we cannot simply acquire in our everyday life. We information system students hardly deals with information, thus right, reliable and relevant information is a must. Through this course, I learned, enlightened and understood so many things. Starting from the strategy, company direction, the vision, mission, the internal and external environment of the business and different assessment tools for the IS and for the business itself. These learning was really helpful in complying the IS planning project given to us. I was able to clearly understood the frameworks, the IS Governance and the planning process in the IS Strategic Planning. Those are not just the things I learned, I also learned things from outside the school. I experienced stepping in the real industry, where we gather information, communicate with different stakeholders and do analyzation through the combination of what we learn in the class and the assistance given by the stakeholders. Sir Emilio Macaso was a great help for us to learn things. The team members and the other classmates was helpful too, to have a better classroom ambiance which is conducive for learning.
Without the learnings from the class given by the professor, we surely can’t comply in the course requirement. Those information is crucial not only to the course itself but to the future of us too. Even though the course comes to an end, it doesn’t mean that the learning and information also will end. This should continue not just for the sake of graduating or finishing the program but also for our everyday life. Studying strategies, vision, mission, planning process and others is not exclusive for the business and Information Technology only. It is applicable in our everyday life and decisions in our life as well. We can simply strategize or make plans whenever we encounter things. Bryant McGill once said, “If you have a deep desire to move forward, a way is being prepared for you.” Nothing will beat a prepared and knowledgeable person. Mostly those that are ready encounters opportunity. In our case, this course is an opportunity and it is up to us to wisely use the learnings and things we get from the whole semester.
What now? Honestly, at first I don’t know. But because of this course, I now know. I was able to know different things related to our field that will be a great help in building our future and achieving our goals. I will keep the learning not just in my notebook or in my laptop but will keep it in my heart and mind. The best learning in life stays in heart not in paper. Though keeping it in heart will let you keep outcomes in paper. What I wanted to say is a learning should not stay as a learning. It should be productively used to create different outcomes for the learning and information to be applied. Achieving one’s goals start with a learning from information.

Hintay
Isa, dalawa, tatlo Wala pa ring tao. Nag-iintay na mag-isa Nawawala ang mga kasama. Usapang pagkaayos ayos, Reklamong walang ubos.

Past is History
If experiences or details already happened, then it is already part of the past. They say that past are meant to be forgotten, but not all past should be forgotten. Some past is history. The past that are history are more or less important since it take part already.
However, this is not just applicable in real life situation, but in IT as well. Implementing of new systems are a great help in a company but what happens to the old records in the old system? These records are considered past records, but are important to the business. This is where Data Migration project takes place. It is where data from the old system will be transferred in the new system. Additionally, in data migration, it doesn't just transfer data but also clean and improve it. This project is not simple as it seems but it is complicated but a great project in the IT. It is not done in a blink of an eye, instead it needs a thorough planning, analysis, consultation and implementation.
I choose Data Migration because I can see the importance of it to our field. Old data are consist of necessary information not just the information needed in different business processes but the information of customers also. An improper execution of data migration might result into negative effects in the business so proper ways or processes should be used.
Since data migration takes a big part in IT processes, it should be executed properly. As an Information System student, I already have the edge since I know the processes involve in data migration already. With this knowledge, I already know what are the do's and don'ts in data migration that will be a great help for me in the future.

No More Problems?
First Semester is coming to an end already. No more assignments, projects, quizzes for a while. But most especially no more problems. Speaking of problems, Problem Management is one of the lesson that I truly understand and can relate with. It doesn’t involve complex understanding and just the basic. However, even though it is simple it is important and critical, since it is about problems and errors. If one problem leaves unresolved, it might take a negative effect on the process. This comes Problem Management. Its main objective is to seek and solve the root cause of an incident and prevent it from happening again. Meaning it supports the Incident Management and an Important area in ITIL. It also involves problem control and error control, in where errors will be turn into known errors and then resolve it.
Since Problem Management is an important part of ITIL,  it should be manage effectively. Solutions to problems should not be merely based from opinions but rely more on facts, that’s why databases are used. Even though I mentioned that it is basic, it is still complicated in some ways so problem management should not be set aside. Just like how problems came to our life, no matter how simple the problem is, it is still a problem.
What Now? Take everything seriously. Not just in terms of IT Service Management, but in life as well. We should always use the proactive management, cause “prevention is better than cure” they say. If there are no errors then there might be no problems as well.

One Sided ata
