Comfort Teas Ep. 1: Loki Laufeyson

Welcome to a series I am calling “Comfort Teas!” I have recently gotten really into making tea blends so I decided to start by finding inspiration in some of my favorite people and places that come from shifting as well as some of the deities I work with! For me, this is a way to connect with my drs and channel their energy in a way so by no means are they perfect tea blends. But, I have been enjoying experimenting with them as I go! This first installment is dedicated to my s/o Loki. For me, Loki is a very comforting energy, despite his reputation. In all my channelings and interactions with him, he has only been a calm and stead-fast person in my life. However, I know I am lucky to see this side of him when not many others have earned it. Loki is ambitious and cunning, mischievous and sometimes cold towards people he does not trust completely. On top of all that, he is deeply loving and has a big heart if he chooses to show it. For this tea blend I decided to focus on the comforting feeling I get from Loki while also paying close attention to his ambition and background. For this, I chose a blend of rooibos, black tea, peppermint, and vanilla. Rooibos is a tea sourced from the African Red Bush. It has a smooth and almost nutty flavor with a natural sweetness to it that makes it easy to drink even without additional sweeteners. It may be my personal history with it, but it always brings a sense of comfort and homeyness to me which was exactly what I was looking for. Plus it is non caffeinated so, on its own it's a very peaceful and relaxing tea for me. Black Tea is an homage to his ambitious nature. Caffeine, boldness, and strength. Black tea seemed like a no-brainer. I chose Golden Monkey which is an incredibly smooth and light black tea. This was mainly because I didn’t want the black tea to overpower the rooibos but after looking at the leaves themselves, it couldn’t be a more perfect match. Golden Monkey leaves have these beautiful yellow accents, which reminded me of Frigga and her colors. Loki is a mama’s boy and Frigga is deeply important to him. It seemed perfect. Peppermint was chosen for several reasons. First, peppermint is a great mental stimulant. It keeps your mind alert and gives you a boost of energy without the jitters of caffeine. This helped play into the sense of ambition I was trying to get. One another level, peppermint also played into his personality. Loki is well… Loki. He can be closed off and hard to reach from first impressions. I felt that the peppermint matched this ‘cold’ exterior of Loki. Also he is a frost giant…. peppermint matched perfectly

Vanilla also adds that homey sense to a tea, so I thought it was the perfect addition to round out the flavors in the tea and bring a more romantic feel to it.

The ratios are very much still a work in progress but the current blend I am working with is very simple.

½ Tablespoon Rooibos

½ Tablespoon Black Tea (Golden Monkey or similar)

Roughly ¼ teaspoon of Peppermint. (I tend to go a little less since the peppermint very easily overpowers a tea. Somewhere between ⅛ and ¼ of a teaspoon is perfect for me)

Vanilla. You can do this a few ways. Vanilla Extract and Vanilla Powder are both great ways to get that vanilla flavor in there but my favorite way is make a vanilla simple syrup!

That’s it! You can add safflower of cornflower to round out the tea but I have yet to experiment with it.

My Significant Others vs Domestication

Note: This post is just for laughs. I adore all my significant others from my drs. I have shifted to these people and these funny hahas are not a reflection of who they are as people as a whole. Just having a little fun! I also do not actively shift to a few of these drs as of currently, but I love them all the same.

Spencer Charnas: Easily domesticated. 10/10 this man is just happy to be around me and happy for me to be loving him. You’d love him too if you saw the look on this silly little horror guy’s face in the mornings.

Noah Sebastian: Domestication Levels; difficult! This man is a chaotic string bean. It’s not impossible but I do be strugglin’. His choices in food are questionable at best; pizza with marshmallows and chocolate sauce a deep hatred for Subway, and he’ll train his children with marshmallows he keeps in a fanny pack.

James “Bucky” Barnes: Not impossible, but not easy. He’s a grumpy old man who questions everything. Short of giving this 100 year old man a heart attack each day, he loves me though definitely is questioning if he wants to spend the rest of his oddly long life with me.

Cayde-6: Impossible to domesticate. This EXO Vanguard, though he is goofy and spry, the house life is just not for him and to be fair, not for me either! We have a job to do and we love what we do and take pride and the house life isn’t for us.

Simon “Ghost” Riley: Now, I have yet to domesticate this brick wall of a man, but I’m not going to say it is impossible. A difficult task, yes, 1000%. There are a lot of walls you gotta crack through just to see a sliver of life, but it’s there!

Keegan Russ: Much like Simon, he’s gonna be a difficult one, though I often refer to him as the “Diet Ghost” because he definitely has a softer side than Simon and therefore I believe it would be easier to domesticate this blue eyed beauty of a man.

Note #2: the people down here are either ones I once shifted for and no longer do or are my friends’ significant others who I’ve spent enough time around in drs to just know. Again, all for silly hahas

Loki Laufeyson: Good luck! His ability to be domesticated is mild, he’ll probably humor you for about a decade before he gets bored. Not bored with you, he’ll love you and burn the world down for you if he feels the need, but this leather covered coat rack is burdened with a glorious purpose and being a house husband just isn’t one of them.

Tom Hiddleston: Probably the easiest human to domesticate! This man loves with passion and will do anything to make you happy. House husband status at 1000%. That work-life balance he has that down to a T and you are the main priority every single time.

John Price: Not impossible but extremely difficult. This man yearns for a domestic life, however he has a job to do and it often takes priority. He has a slight issue with feeling the need to protect and protecting is part of his job.

Johnny “Soap” MacTavish: This chaotic bean could be domesticated however he just wants to blow shit up. He’s a goofy man but he might need a little direction. Your household will be utter chaos and that’s okk!

Ricky Armellino: Can’t convince me this man isn’t some Loki variant. He loves kids, but he is chaos incarnate. He loves touring, it’s his job, but he loves being a chaotic little shit and that’s alright! Join him in the chaos, it’ll be easier that way.

Patrick Galante: Domesticate this man immediately. Perfect house wife with a great taste in craft beverages. He is a sweet bean without a single care in the world and an amazing cuddler. 10/10 house wife.

About my Star Wars x Asgard DR

Not so long ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away… a Jedi padawan finds herself overseeing the safety of the Asgardian representatives to the Republic.

Set in the aftermath of the battle of New York, Loki is not sent back to Asgard to serve time as a result of his actions, but instead is assigned the role of Asgardian Diplomat. He is tasked with serving Asgard as a politician, being sent to the Republic to secure a trade agreement between the two entities. That is where Thor and Loki meet Colette Kryze, the Padawan of Obi-Wan Kenobi and the daughter of Satine Kryze.

I grew up on Mandalore, living as the heir to Clan Kryze and the throne of Mandalore. When I was around 13 years old, I started developing Force Powers. As traditional Mandalorians and the Jedi have a longstanding distrust, it was clear that I would have to earn my place on Mandalore’s throne. And so, I was sent to the Jedi.

My shifting story starts 10 years later, when I meet the Princes of Asgard for the first time. Because I have spent a fair amount of my life in the realm of politics, I was selected to be Thor and Loki’s Jedi Protector and guide to the vastly confusing political system of the Republic. Since Thor is preparing to take his place on Asgard’s throne, I am left to deal with Loki, protecting him and bailing him out of trouble when the need arises.

That's the basics! I hope this makes sense to everyone, I have been working on the script for 3 years. Its very plot centric if you can't tell but I am excited for it all the same!

Introductions

Hello! I am Colette by Moonlight! Welcome to my Tumblr Page. A little introduction so you can get to know me a little more! I am 24 years old and have known about shifting for 3 years now. In this reality, I am currently working towards earning my architecture license. I love running, musical theater, themed entertainment, Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars. My passion is Auburn football and my motivation in life is to shift so I can bully Ricky Armellino for going to Bama. I have minishifted several times unintentionally but have yet to intentionally shift to my drs. We are working everyday on that though and I hope to share my journey on here to keep me accountable! My main S/O is Loki Laufeyson but I have plans to shift to other s/os like Tom Hiddleston, Ricky Armellino of Ice Nine Kills, and maybe some others. Lokes is my main focus though and I use any excuse to script him into DRs. My main DR is a Star Wars x Asgard Mashup DR. It's very complicated so I will do a deep dive on that soon! Right now though, I just plan on shifting to a Slice of Life DR to Walt Disney World with Lokes and some of my friends.

I am a pagan witch who has been practicing on and off for about 3 years now. I mainly work with the Norse Loki but hope that as my confidence increases, I will be able to bring more deities onto my team! I will note, because I work with Loki, I am in a constant state of confusion when it comes to what Loki i am talking to or about. I also have a fish named Loki so…. Yeah we are a three Loki household. Why I did this to myself, I have no idea but it makes things very interesting! I mostly refer to my s/o Loki as Lokes or Lolo just because my brain gets very confused. If I post anything about Deity Loki, I will specify that it is him!

I co-own an etsy shop with my friends! It is called 4 Past Midnite and we mainly do divination and spell work with many more offering coming as our resources grow. We may or may not be working on secret offerings for shifters… so stay tuned for that! I will be sure to update as we finalize all the details but for now, please check us out!
