You literally started it. You went specifically to my version of the post, that i posted weeks ago, to "correct" me. Because you think your version is the ONLY right answer.
Pull your head out of your ass and touch some fucking grass.
So python is apparently unable to handle if-statement with more than 2996 elif’s, which is fair, however, it’s really limiting my implentation of an is_even function
Any ideas on how I can work around this?

Oh I'm SO sorry I didn't reduce it as far as possible. Because everyone knows in programming there's only ever exactly a single answer to any given situation. I opted for a slightly more verbose version of the exact same thing. I am a failure and I will never make it in the programming world.
Seriously. Are you that far up your own ass? Are you going around to everyone who didn't give your exact answer and telling them they're wrong? Get over yourself, for fuck's sake.
So python is apparently unable to handle if-statement with more than 2996 elif’s, which is fair, however, it’s really limiting my implentation of an is_even function

Yes, @leftsquarebracket. That's the point. It's a function that would return a boolean which, you seem to forget, is just true or false.
The full and properly formatted function would be:
In other words if [statement] is true, return true otherwise return false.
I'm fairly sure OP was making a joke by turning something so painfully simple it doesn't need its own function into something so absurdly over the top it maxed out the Python's limits.
Do you need me to explain it further or are you just going to insult me again?
So python is apparently unable to handle if-statement with more than 2996 elif’s, which is fair, however, it’s really limiting my implentation of an is_even function
Any ideas on how I can work around this?

As a former python tutor, I genuinely cannot tell if this is a joke or not. It's causing me physical pain.

"web app" websites with a billion lines of react code and a 100 MB cache and enough tracking elements to find out what i had for breakfast, that take 20 seconds to load on my gaming laptop... they are like little inbred bulldogs to me. What are you puppy mill ass web devs doing!! your awful JS isn't making them "aesthetic," youre giving them serious breathing problems >:(
#i love javascript#but not the js on big websites#it's so damn laggy#because it's fighting for processing power#or poorly used#stop making things animate on scroll#it's annoying

neocities guide - why you should build your own html website
do you miss the charm of the 90s/00s web where sites had actual personality instead of the same minimalistic theme? are you feeling drained by social media and the constant corporate monopoly of your data and time? do you want to be excited about the internet again? try neocities!!
what is neocities?
neocities is a free hosting website that lets you build your own html website from scratch, with total creative control. in their own words: "we are tired of living in an online world where people are isolated from each other on boring, generic social networks that don't let us truly express ourselves. it's time we took back our personalities from these sterilized, lifeless, monetized, data mined, monitored addiction machines and let our creativity flourish again."
why should I make my own website?
web3 has been overtaken by capitalism & conformity. websites that once were meant to be fun online social spaces now exist solely to steal your data and sell you things. it sucks!! building a personal site is a great way to express yourself and take control of your online experience.
what would I even put on a website?
the best part about making your own site is that you can do literally whatever the hell you want! focus on a specific subject or make it a wild collection of all your interests. share your art! make a shrine for one of your interests! post a picture of every bird you see when you step outside! make a collection of your favorite blinkies! the world is your oyster !! here are some cool example sites to inspire you: recently updated neocities sites | it can be fun to just look through these and browse people's content! space bar | local interstellar dive bar creature feature | halloween & monsters big gulp supreme peanutbuttaz | personal site dragodiluna linwood | personal site patho grove | personal site
getting started: neocities/html guide

also, there's actually a pretty cool community of people out there who want to bring joy back to the web! melonland project | web project/community celebrating individual & joyful online experiences. Also has an online forum melonland intro to web revival | what is web revival? melonking manifesto | status cafe | share your current status nightfall city | online community onio.cafe | leave a message and enjoy the ambiance sadgrl internet manifesto | yesterweb internet manifesto | sadly defunct, still a great resource reclaiming online social spaces | great manifesto on cultivating your online experience
in conclusion
i want everyone to make a neocities site because it's fun af and i love seeing everyone's weird personal sites that they made outside of the control of capitalism :) say hi to me on neocities

Slowly working on a new portfolio layout for a more advanced type of deal. I just need to fix it to hide the scrollbars when the windows bump off screen.
Also the clock and calculator buttons bring up functional things that can also be dragged around:

Did you know that accessibility is important on websites and you could potentially get in legal trouble if your site isn't properly accessible? While your personal blog is unlikely to come under scrutiny for breaking ADA laws, there are specific markers a website must meet.
If you're not personally liable for accessibility, why do you need to worry about it? Well, do you ever filter tags? Do you request that others tag anything specifically so you can filter it out? Do you have a DNI? You are expecting others to accomodate you, so you'd better damn well be accommodating others.
But what does that mean in terms of accommodation? There's a whole article about that on the ADA website and more at accessability.gov. Specific to tumblr themes there are 2 major violations I see constantly: font size and contrast.
Font sizes should be a minimum of 16px. You can get away with 14 in some fonts, but not always. Far too often I see blogs with a font size of like 9px.
Contrast is trickier, but there are tools to check. The contrast checker at webAim can tell you if your colors meet the minimum requirements. You can also get a browser extension called Wave that checks a lot of accessibility concerns, including contrast.
A third but more broad concern is animation and what happens when you hover over items. The more objects move on screen the less accessible they are.
This one is for all of you with aggressively "aesthetic" blogs with teeny tiny gray text on a pastel background with flashing gifs or animated sparkles everywhere.

Codecademy is NOT free. They let you get a taste of their lessons for free, but charge you after. And sites like that give you such a shallow experience of the topic that I've stepped in puddles that were deeper.
If you want to get a satisfyingly deep experience with a wide application and you want a serious challenge, try Harvard's CS50x. It's free, unless you want the "verified" certificate through EdX, but Harvard gives you a certificate anyway. It has full assignments, too. Fully open and at your own pace. They also offer other classes like Web Development with Python and JavaScript, Programming with Python, AI with Python, and a ton of other classes. Completely for free. From Harvard. And through EdX you can find tons of free (and paid) options from top schools around the world. Part of an initiative between Harvard and MIT to provide better access to higher education.
There is also The Odin Project. No lectures, but a few videos. And a ton of reading. But a lot of practical experience and it gives you good exposure to getting to know code through the documentation. Because if you want to code you need to know how to navigate that. It teaches in depth HTML, CSS, and full stack JavaScript with React and NodeJS, with an optional path through Ruby and Rails.
Unless it's through a properly certified school, you're throwing away your money. Most languages offer the content for free on their own. With other free options that are as good, or better than any paid "course."
I wanted to use Sass and gave Codecademy a try. I learned basically nothing on what was offered for free. So after prodding google, I found the official documentation for Sass just explained everything I needed. No need to pay. I've been using Sass since without issue.
You only need to spend your time, not money, to learn programming.

And to do the opposite, of course, is to implode()
PHP is now my favourite language because explode() goes much harder than split(), I will not be accepting criticism, thank you
