      “I think Jonesy likes you,” Ripley chuckled softly as her ginger tomcat began meowing at the corporal. It was an excited, talkative meow and the cat began to rub against Hicks’ legs. Seems Jones found his new best friend.

       ❝ i’ll take that over tearing my leg apart at any rate, loud little critter ain’t he ? ❞ hicks murmured, wry smile parting his lips as he bent to give the cat the attention he so desperately NEEDED. he’d never really had pets before, growing up on the colony left little room for it, but jones was a great addition to their little family unit.

                      and she had butterflies in the pit of her stomach. she always did when they had their —- date nights. it was strange that after ALL this time … he was still able to make her f e e l that way. and with everything that was going on in their lives … she was SURPRISED that they were able to have what essentially felt like a NORMAL life. her lips pulled into a GRIN as she opens her door to see him STANDING there … looking handsome as ever.                                                                                               ❛ i would love to go for a walk. ❜a laugh leaves her lips as she hooks her arm through his.

              their date nights had been going so well recently, despite the hiccups surrounding their... tenuous cease-fire with the cops ( a topic that always tugged him in half; mutant one side, detective the other ), and hicks had never felt HAPPIER. in all honesty, he’d highly doubted he’d ever get to this point ---- smiling blonde on his arm as they begin their walk from the partially rebuilt bar down the street, confident in their relationship. he’d never begrudge bella for her time with jake, would NEVER hold it against her in the long run even if it stings freshly when he sees kellan. 

               e a s y laugh follows her own, grey eyes crinkling just that little bit at the edges as they take quiet steps towards the greener side of town,    ❝   thought we’d head to the park, make an EVENING of it while the day’s so nice.... go for dinner after ?   ❞   makes it sound like a question, blood hammering in his ears and his voice sounds nervous even to himself.

.sorry for my sudden absence!! i’m on a road trip down the East Coast and i honestly thougt i’d havemore free time than i do haha ( my friend has me out until 11 most nights so tumblr is hard to get onto ) - currently i’m at disney so i’m hoping i’ll get a little more time after she tires herself out haha. replies are drafted and i’ll get to them asap!!
