Everything was normal until that fateful morning. It was a morning just like every other, every member orbthe circus was wide awake except Constantine, who was ways the first one up and about, no matter what.

Concerned glances were sent around the dining room, but no-one asked any questions since they simply though that he was in having a lie in.

Constantine picked her up, holding her like she was the only thing keeping him sane because in reality, she was. Without Emily by his side to ground him, Constantine was more prone to going back to his old ways of fighting like he did when he first joined the circus.

When the circus troupe went to bed the night before, everything seemed normal. Bronwyn went to bed at her normal time, giving her mom, dad, and the whole troupe goodnight kisses before she did of course. Everyone else went to bed later than Auggie and Bronwyn since the two children needed their sleep.

It was around 2:30 in the morning when a small group of protesters broke into Barnum’s circus. This happened to be the same group that attacked Emily and Constantine all those years ago, and who gave them scars that they had to look at everyday of their lives.

The protesters crept up the stairs and found Emily and Constantine’s room, smirks on their faces. The following events woke the entire circus, Emily’s loud screams as she was kidnapped by the protesters while one of them knocked Constantine out cold so he couldn’t fight them back. They got away with her, taking a beloved member of the circus family.

“Really?” Constantine asked with a big grin on his face. “You are a big girl and I’m so proud of you sweetheart!”
