This position involves some communication with our customers so we need someone with previous customer service/retail experience, random inspection of our merchandise, and minor repair of dresses - mainly loose beads/stones. This is a full-time or part-time position and we are looking to fill it ASAP. See below our requirements:
Responsibilities: -provide a high level of customer service
-accurate order entry -inspect dresses for any type of damage thoroughly but in a timely manner -identify and communicate any problems relating to quality -repair/hand sew any damage that can be fixed Qualifications:
-must have basic sewing skills -- especially repairing beadwork -previous customer service/retail experience – friendly, patient, helpful… -excellent communication skills - listening, written & verbal -strong attention to detail and produce high quality work -good work ethic and reliable -must be able to both work independently and follow instruction -knowledge and skill using Excel & specialized software applications

Steppenwolf Theatre Company is seeking candidates for the full time position of Public Relations Assistant. The Public Relations Assistant supports the efforts of the Communications Director and works with Steppenwolf artistic team, marketing/social media staff and education and development department, as well as external parties including members of the media, producers, publicists/managers and outside companies. This position is part of the Marketing Department and reports to the Communications Director.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with the execution of strategic communications campaigns for all productions and programming in Steppenwolf’s three theater spaces, in addition to education and development programs and events, Front Bar: Coffee and Drinks publicity and Steppenwolf institutional campaigns.
· Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media alerts, bios, post notices and talking points in collaboration with the Communications Director.
· Collect RSVPs, caption photos, assist in the seating of theater press and compile press kits. Attend press openings for each production.
· In collaboration with the Communications Director, create and pitch story angles and strategic targeted messaging to media outlets.
· Compile daily media alerts for internal distribution and track media coverage for each production. Distribute wrap kits of press coverage at the conclusion of each run.
· Assist in the facilitation of artist interviews with media outlets.
· Work in collaboration with Communications Director on media training and key messaging for talent prior to interviews.
· Maintain and update the press database regularly.
· Work with the Social Media Director and Communications Director on copy creation for Steppenwolf’s social media platforms.
· Facilitate press requests for photos, videos and archival materials as needed. Oversee and organize the archival database.
· Provide support to the Communication Director as needed, including on-site supervision at photo and video shoots, interviews and press performances.

The Lab Director will be an integral part of LATITUDE and influential to our non-profit’s development as it continues to grow. We are looking for someone with a passion for imaging technology and education, strong interpersonal and management skills, and the continuous drive to learn in a fast-paced environment.
General Responsibilities include:
• Manage a digital lab on a daily basis with the oversight of the Executive Director
• Directly manage and educate a volunteer staff of 10-15 Lab Assistants
• Oversee the lab experience of all users with the ongoing support of Lab Assistants
• Manage LATITUDE’s service bureau production, which includes printing, scanning, and advanced visualization work
• Act at the primary point of contact for the technical needs of Artists in Residence
• Run educational workshops and one-on-one tutoring sessions
• Manage the resident Lab Technician in equipment maintenance and development
LATITUDE is a 501(c)(3) organization located in Chicago that depends on community and volunteer support. We maintain a digital lab with high-end scanning and printing equipment available for DIY use, operate an artist in residence program, and organize ongoing arts programming.
LATITUDE’s mission is to provide access to high-end digital media equipment, a professional production space, and a curriculum dedicated to real-world workflows and contemporary art theory.
Salary range: $19,000-22,000 commensurate with experience, with the possibility of a year-end bonus.

During his extraordinary life, Dr. Jones was a leader in Chicago's cultural community, a passionate collector of contemporary art, a Captain in the US Air Force, and an OB/GYN who in the late 1960s became the first African American clinical associate at the University of Chicago Hospital.
Jimmy Jones epitomized the true Renaissance spirit: a humanitarian and man of science, he was keenly interested in the work of contemporary artists and how their practice can be a reflection of and catalyst for social change. The Jimmy Jones Internship is designed to encourage university students with diverse backgrounds and who require supplementary income to explore art museum careers. Students interested in a curatorial career will receive special consideration. A stipend of $2,500 is available each summer.
