On this day, 24 March 1976, a right-wing coup backed by the US took place in Argentina, overthrowing populist Isabel Peron. The new military government stepped up Peron’s war against radical workers and communists, murdering and “disappearing” tens of thousands. US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger advised the junta to wipe out its opponents quickly before outcry over human rights abuses could grow. There is something rotten happening in Georgia right now, and almost no one is talking about it. Early Sunday morning, an Atlanta activist/organizer, Oscar Cain, was gunned down by Atlanta PD. They claim he had a weapon, which is suspicious on its on, but how in the world do you kill an activist against police brutality as he’s running away? On top of that, no one knows about it until almost a week later?! My heart is breaking right now for his friends in the Atlanta Black Lives Matter movement who are reeling at this loss. This is the 26th officer-involved shooting investigation of 2019, marking Georgia as one of the deadliest places for civilians being killed by police. Please help support memorial efforts by donating via CashApp @ $StandForOscar. We demand justice for Oscar Cain!
Yemoja is the orisa of devotion, trance, habits, and meditation. It is because devotion is the source of success and in ancient times success was heavily related to your number of children, Yemoja’s name means “Mother like Fishes.” Fishes can give birth to more children than all other animals; the ocean sunfish can give birth to 300 million eggs in one season.
Black Africans are suffering because we abuse the divine power of devotion. We are devoted to anything the Oyinbo puts in our face repeatedly. For this abuse of the Yemoja power, we give birth to our own destruction.
Only thru utilizing the power of devotion appropriately, Yemoja, can she give birth to our multitude of strong children in the huge number of fish eggs.
