I dont know how to explain it but Hozier's voice moves me so much, specialy when he sings at the top of his lungs, like in Nina Cried Power, the chorus in Dinner and Diatribes, in Sunlight....

It has such power and energy and at the same time its so sweet...

But oh, when he sings quietly, calmly, soflty, almost as if he where talking, sometimes even whispering to you, like in Wasteland Baby!, or Run, or Talk, or Cherry Wine, or No Plan, or NFWMB....

It literally conjures up a bunch of emotions in me that i cannot explain. This man is magical.

So I never actually finished Grand Army, and so I only got this clip off of a few interviews, but who the fuck thought that “speak fucking English” was a good comeback to the other girls that were bullying Leila? Yes they deserved so much shit for belittling Leila and acting like she’s below them for “not being Chinese enough,” but why would they think that saying something that nearly almost every non-English speaking, usually an immigrant of color, person in America has heard-and ties in with the prejudices and discrimination that they face-would be a good idea?

executive dysfunction is legitimately physically uncomfortable. i’ll be trapped between two things, weirdly caught on how-much-time-it-might-take-me. i take hours worried im going to take hours doing things. i’ll sit on the floor for the entire day, caught up in the middle of not-doing the chores i actually do want to be doing.

& the amount of mental energy that goes into it. & the legitimate amount of anger and discomfort and self-hate. is not “being lazy”.  it’d be a lot less work if i didn’t have to fight myself to just get up and do it. 

i just need you to understand it’s not effortless. it’s never effortless. it’s not “okay let me just get up and finally start doing this.” it’s more like. i am slamming my foot on the pedal but the car is in neutral and nothing is moving. it’s more like shouting instructions into a dying telephone. it’s more like being trapped in a small electric box, and someone who hates me is administering shocks.

There is a genuine, overwhelming feeling of grief when you're diagnosed with ADHD as an adult.

It's a grief of missed opportunities, of things unachieved, because you were told that you were lazy, or stupid, or that you didn't apply yourself, or that you didn't care enough.

The part of ADHD that is so commonly overlooked is the depression. The serious feelings of failure and continued failings and what that does to your mental state.

Watching as everything piles up ahead of you, and seeing how everything piled up behind you, and feeling genuinely trapped between the two. Not knowing how to reconcile the past, and not knowing where to start on the future.

ADHD is a mental illness. And I'm sorry if people don't like me using that term, but it is. It's debilitating, it's difficult, it affects every day life.

There’s nothing like spending 4 hours on a single really fucking easy homework assignment that could take you 15 minutes if you could fucking focus.

Oh, and then wasting another 20 minutes to cry about it.  Twice.
