More GW2 art!! Let me introduce you to professor Yakkey!

I've only ever really focused on Enn (my main, reaper) and I decided I wanted to try another class properly, so I went for engineer cuz it sounded hard but fun cuz, you know, guns. So I made my lil asura (because of course he's an asura) and started playing around.

And then my mind started wondering, adding him to Enn's story, headcanoning a bunch of stuff and then I feel in love with my new lil angsty rat. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH AAAAAAAAAAA

I'm only just finishing LWS2 with him, so there's still a lot to do story-wise for him, but it's so very fun!

I keep sketching him everywhere so I wanted to make a proper drawing of him and when I was taking screenshots for references he looked so angry and funny that I used that as a base for this drawing lmao.

Anyway quick, short intro for anyone who cares: Yakkey specializes in biomedical engineering and, even more specifically, in making prosthetics look as close to the limbs they're replacing as possible.

He's a doctor, but people call him professor because that's what his krewe calls him. It kind of started as a joke, but it just stuck.

He's a Magister for the Durmand Priory and could potentially go even higher, but he isn't as interested in that at the moment.

And some small headcanons:

He got the scar on his face from a rogue golem back in college.

His eyes are sensitive, so he wears glasses most of the time.

His eyes also look strange so people tend to stare, which he hates, so, again, glasses.

He's gay af and has a situationship 👀 going on with Canach. Why? Because I say so.

I will definitely draw another art of Alex trying to show a bit opposite vibes.

Here, you can see dark powers, which involve summoning demons. Gladly, not the real deal, just the echo of them from the Mists. Still very dangerous if summoned and allowed to roam freely. Think of these abilities as Renegade skills but instead he summons demons.

Some more lore about his dark and light powers below.

Dark powers come from his negative emotions like hatred, desire for vengeance, jealousy, sadness, loneliness, anger, feeling lonely, fear, etc. Alex thinks he fully controls the demons, which he summons but they actually try to nudge him towards negative emotions as it feeds them. He thinks, they're his "friends" but in truth, they aren't.

However, Alex also has light powers, which I want to show too very soon. These powers are based on positive emotions such as love (feeling it towards someone or when he feels loved), joy, hope, gratitude, sense of safety, amusement, compassion, etc. He discovers these powers later and they get triggered when he starts experiencing love for the first time. Towards Selene - initially just a good friend but later he starts developing feelings to her.

Neither of these powers should be considered good or bad. They just require balance.
