I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.

this disability pride i wanna keep in mind the disabled people who are in a difficult situation because of their disability. people who were made homeless because of their disability, people who are stuck in abusive homes and can't get out because of their disability. people whose disability was used against them to facilitate abuse, like taking away their autonomy - medical, legal, or otherwise - taking charge of their finances, taking advantage of their vulnerabilities. it's reasonable to think that a lot of disabled people, especially disabled people in difficult circumstances such of these, would struggle to connect with the idea of disability pride. but pride or otherwise, this month should also be disability solidarity month. this month and every month is for all disabled people in all sorts of circumstances

Hearing Occupied Palestine has the largest number of child amputees in the world as an amputee hits so hard bc like that hopeless feeling is something that’ll never leave my mind and the fact a generation of children are gonna know that is just.. wow.. and on top of that these are like civil war field amputations.. in 2024.. FUCK ISNOTREAL..

As a wheelchair user I'm trying to reframe my language for "being in the way."

"I'm in the way," "I can't fit," and "I can't go there," is becoming "there's not enough space," "the walkway is too narrow," and "that place isn't accessible."

It's a small change, but to me it feels as if I'm redirecting blame from myself to the people that made these places inaccessible in the first place. I don't want people to just think that they're helping me, I want them to think that they're making up for someone else's wrongdoing. I want them to remember every time I've needed help as something someone else caused.

Whilst we are all talking about colonialism in the wake of the queen's death, please note that colonisation is not actually a thing of the past, and it is still actively being forced on indigenous people in countries that were stolen by the english. The genocide of cultural heritage is ongoing.

One such example is the attempted destruction of Djab Warrung heritage sites in Victoria, Australia. The local indigenous community and their allies have spent five years trying to protect sacred sites and songlines that the Victorian Government wants, very very badly, to destroy. The government has succeeded in destroying one of the sites, but the battle isnt lost yet and there is still a lot left to protect. The defenders have put their own lives on hold for five years to try and save what little of their cultural heritage remains.

There is an upcoming court battle and a bunch of other costs.
