Fun brief bit between #Mikey and #Donnie as I get my stories caught up. @brightlotusmoon
Being exposed to your little brother’s thoughts was an odd situation to be in, regardless, even for a ninja turtle with a crazy life. All the same, Donnie found himself overwhelmed almost immediately.
So. Many. Thoughts.
Ideas, witty remarks, deep pondering. All flying around at what seemed like the speed of sound. How did his brother function as well as he did with all these rapid thoughts firing at a million miles a second?
But beyond that…he found himself trying to pinpoint the thoughts. Donnie thought he caught a few words here and there and what he DID catch worried him.
A lot.
A phrase here about “not worth the time,” another about “they’re more important.” Yet another “why bother?”
But perhaps most disturbing was he kept hearing “I’m the Battle nexus Champion!”
Except he didn’t hear those words. Well, he DID but it was like he could hear beyond them. Underneath them.
And beyond the mere words, he heard his sobbing, hysterical little brother repeating, ad nauseam, as if his life depended on it:
“I’m fine. I’m fine.”

let me tell you about hopepunk.
grimdark says “we are all going to die. the universe is cold and empty.” hopepunk says “yes, and the greatest act of defiance against the dark is kindness.”
grimdark says “nothing can save us forever.” hopepunk says “something can always save us today.”
grimdark says “in a hundred years, we will all be dead and forgotten.” hopepunk says “yes, but here and now, we are alive.”
grimdark says “there is no hope. there is no mercy. there is no justice.” hopepunk says “but there is us.”
hopepunk says “the universe has done all it can, and we are still alive.”
hopepunk is not about the daylight. it’s about the flame you light in the dark of the night. hopepunk is not about being unbroken. it is about taking the beating and staying on your feet. hopepunk is not idealism. hopepunk is the willful, unyielding defiance of cynicism.

you ever think that tmnt 2003 Mikey just has one random ass break down in front of Leo full on sobbing out of nowhere and than after 1 minute of him crying suddenly wipes his tears and his face shifts into a smile and he's back to regular Mikey like before Leo can even ask what's wrong like bro was crying now he's acting like that never happened in a very surprising good way.
Just the one?!
*scribbling notes for newest 03 fic that still needs a Leo perspective chapter*
No, yeah, one random ass breakdown would probably be enough.

So you are telling me, according to the San Antonio Police Department, its not a hate crime when you:
- threaten to burn a gay couple’s house down for two years and openly calling them slurs
- actually do burn down the house
- kill their dog and place it’s skull and harness on top of the couple’s mailbox for them to see
- shoot and kill one of them while they are crying over seeing their murdered dog’s remains while you are also calling them homophobic slurs
During both Pride and Indigenous History Month nonetheless.
Rest In Peace Jonathan Joss.

leatherhead: there are times when i lose control. when i awaken i am horrified by what i’ve done. a monster like me deserves to be chained.
michelangelo: maybe you think you’re a monster because that’s how everyone treats you.
TMNT (2012) — S01E12
i want to cry!!! i am rewatching TMNT (because nothing motivates you to do the most random things like having exams to avoid) and this scene is tearing my heart apart because YES!!! just because people treat us badly doesn’t mean we deserve it or that it defines who we are!!! and i adore how the beauty of mikey’s character shines through in his ability to see deeper to offer kindness and compassion to every living being!!! this is where they got me. i am gone.

Indigenous peoples continue to struggle to access complete and timely records about Indian Residential Schools, according to a new report by the Senate standing committee on Indigenous Peoples. The report, Missing Records, Missing Children, was released Thursday and includes 11 recommendations to improve access to residential school records, including for the Canadian government to compel Catholic entities to release documents to the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation. "It's extremely important for the support of the survivors and the family members to bring closure because everyone is aging on," said Sen. Brian Francis, who is Mi'kmaw from Lennox Island First Nation and is chair of the committee. "The sooner we can get answers the better."

Since a lot of ppl follow me for angel and adjacent stuff I thought I'd boost a fun project/game I read recently by a friend of mine, "Our Lamb Amidst Mortals" by Rottenmondays!
It's BL with some horror twist, and the first installment is a pretty quick read. Im not much of a gamer but I liked the characters and the unsettling mood--i left a more detailed review on the page comments. Hope maybe more people can check it out?
