This isn't even part of 2FA -- I wish it was part of 2FA. It is one of ten (!!!) identity confirmation challenges on a loginless portal for my virtual doctors appointment. Who's going to have access to my messages, but not my phone number?

I think what you're getting at here is a lack of rhetorical understanding of the purpose of the chart. It usually doesn't need to have the full axis if the actual scale of the values is irrelevant, or if there's a practical minimum that is so far from zero that the range between 0 and that minimum shrinks the plot to be useless for getting your point across. If you've ever preferred Farenheit over Celsius or Celsius over Kelvin, then you can agree that an absolute zero is not always the best frame of reference for understanding and perception. Sometimes, even a non-absolute zero does not assist in perceptual mapping or practical understanding.
For example, the chart of my CPU temperature (C°) over time could start at 0°, but I don't live in a freezer, and operating temps only range between the ambient room temp and the max operating temp of my machine. Making it start at 0° might give the impression that my air-cooler is capable of going under ambient room temperature, which would also be misleading. Instead, I set my plot to have a soft min/max of 40°-60°, because that's a temperature range I can visually compare and reason about.
You could even do all kinds of things to rescale the chart, like have the y-axis be plotting (temp - ambient)/(max - ambient) such that it contains the absolute minimum and absolute maximum from 0 to 1, but that's an uncommon, dimensionless, context-dependent number which makes it more difficult to reason about. Even if you could see that on the chart, you would still ask "okay, but what temperature is it" or "what's the difference between the ambient temp and the max operating temp?" and that means that the chart would be incomplete.
However, if I was trying to compare my PC temperature to that of a star, I might need an absolute zero. Or Kelvin.
It all depends on the point you're trying to make.
Need people to stop saying "that graph is misleading" when the y axis doesn't start at 0.
Yes sometimes graphs are indeed intentionally misleading you with a weird y axis. But I have seen on this website, three times in as many days, and referencing different graphics, people say "that graph is misleading" when the y axis not starting at 0 is for real simply the best way to convey that particular data.
"I initially misinterpreted this graph despite the perfectly reasonably and very well labeled y axis" ≠ "this graph is misleading." Your data comprehension skills just need work. That's a you problem.

When I am in situations where I run into my father's wannabe pious adult friends who I barely talk to, and my mere presence makes them think that it's acceptable to criticize my life choices even though they don't know me, they call my wife, who they have never met, a goy, as if it had some magical power to snap me out of whatever delusional fantasy I am living where I am allowed to love whoever I please and live whatever life I want.
They use the term "goy" only because "shiksah" would be too inflammatory for a public space. That's how the word is used. That's maybe how it was always meant to be used. If you think you can use that word without being a complete loser, guess again.
Only three types of people use the term "goyim": extremely isolated orthadox jews that actually mean it, extremely online reform converts who don't understand that they would be shunned by the first group for going to a "queer shul" / use the term as a weird form of virtue-signaling, and antisemitic losers who think they are funny by using it to ironically refer to themselves.
IMO its a useful signal that the person you are talking to is living in an entirely different universe, cant be normal, and is ready to make it your problem

It is absolutely insane how readily this site accepted “Christianity is the ONLY religion with authoritarian sects that don’t allow questioning or debate, all other religions ALWAYS welcome those things and don’t have any fundamentalist/authoritarian/conservative sects worth noting”.
Like, there’s no way you guys actually believe that. It’s so insanely, demonstrably false if you have even a vague concept that countries other than America exist. If you’ve never seen an apostate of a non-Christian faith get dogpiled with death threats on Twitter then good for you, but I’ve seen it happen with multiple religions and it’s fucking heartwrenching. I’ve seen people from every single major religion announce that atheists cannot lead happy or fulfilled lives. If you think your religion is too ~progressive~ to have major sects that oppress women and queer people, you are intentionally not paying attention.
And I understand that many people are basing this on an American perspective, where evangelical authoritarian Christians hold an outsized amount of political and social power. But the sheer hypocrisy of painting every single American Christian denomination - many of which are totally fine with questioning and debate - with the same evangelical brush while also railing (correctly) against people who do that to other religions is beyond belief.

Nothing quite like having a loved one with a gambling addiction as sports betting slowly starts creeping into every aspect of american life.
Often these companies defend how dangerous it is as a kind of "intelligent person just having some entertainment" but the facts are that legalizing sports betting correlates with sharp increases in bankruptcies and young people (usually men, or minors even) are getting increasingly addicted to it.
Sometimes I think about the kinds of shit I was getting up to on the internet as a kid even with relatively tech-literate parents and I am afraid of what my children, if I have them, will stumble into. Gone are the days of a child "borrowing" a credit card to purchase runescape gp or whatever, hello to the days of waking up to discover your child has bet $1000 on a same game parlay lol
