If he comes to Ravnica and likes to take things apart, he'll probably talk to the Izzet! In which case, I know people there (I make some components for them that store magic) and I'll ask around if they've seen him!
Heyyy everyone! Has anyone seen a blonde human around the Omenpaths? My emotional support human left the plane without telling me where he was going and doesn't have a communicator right now (he took the last one apart to use the pieces in his pet project.).
He's pretty short, has a belt with just so many pockets, usually wears goggles, has shaggy blonde hair, and likes to wear blue. He answers to "Rain".
If you find him, let me know where! I'm kinda worried about him, out there in the multiverse all alone... Humans are just so fragile, you know?

On November 7, 2024, Denmark used a racist, culturally biased "parenting competency" test to remove a 2 hour old baby, Zammi, from her loving indigenous Greenlandic Inuit mother, Keira, because her native language, which uses minute facial expressions to communicate, will not be able to "[prepare] the child for the social expectations and codes that are necessary to navigate in Danish society." This test had been recommended not to be used at the federal level before this happened but certain municipalities, including the one this happened in, chose to continue to use it regardless. Not only is this blatantly racist but also violates multiple declarations and conventions that Denmark has signed that protect the rights of indigenous people.
Please sign this petition to help Keira to get her baby back.

... We have assassins?
To the member of the Selesnya Conclave who sent another of your mysterious robed assassins after me, I would like to inform you your hitman has failed.
Had you followed the instructions from my last 12 letters and modified this hitman to better be able to adapt to rapid underwater pressure waves, this would not have happened. I have filed an Autopsy Report and forwarded it to you as per usual, however I thought trying something new and using this blog as a medium may lead to some actual consideration of my many notes on the design flaws of your assassins.
The body has been properly mulched and disposed of adequately, please send my regards to their family.

There's no way it would be an invasion! They haven't blockaded any of the Omenpaths, for instance, and- you know how planeswalking leaves that kind of ozone-y WHOOMPH aura behind, like the magic in the air is being displaced? I haven't felt any of that! Besides, who even would be invading?
I have been hearing word that the ol' Niv is gathering the guildleaders. I'm not even sure who that exactly is for every guild these days, but Borborygmos has received some messengers, and I've heard rumors from other guilds. Hopefully it's not another invasion.

I'm not from Ravnica, but I love it here. I love walking home late at night and hearing some festival that's spilled out of Rakdos or Gruul boundaries and getting swept up in the parade. I love going to free lectures at the Azorius academies or free demonstrations at the Izzet workshops or the self-defense workshops the Boros hold. I love pegasi. I love rickety walkways over swamps that lead to rooftop restaurants. I love walking through Dravhoc and seeing all the statues of heroes with the little plaques and I love the giant tree I live in and the picnics that people throw under it and I love how every place you walk through leads to somewhere else that's weirder than you'll find on every other plane. You can walk past a university made of crystal and find an independent goblin micronation founded on a raft made from garbage and then climb down a ladder and meet a group of merchants who grow mushrooms on their own bodies and then trade with them for an escort to Tin Street and then spend an hour bartering for an automaton that makes coffee for you but will run away if you ask it for tea and then find a tavern on Izzet borders where you have to solve a riddle or a mathematical puzzle to get a cocktail that's different with each sip.
Ravnica is special because no matter where you come from, you can be Ravnican. The city does that to people. You make a few allies, you accept a few gigs, and suddenly you're "one of us."
Did you know one of our rulers, for years, was someone who'd grown up off-plane? He could've left whenever. He was a Planeswalker. But he loved Ravnica so much he was willing to die to save her, and that made him one of us.
The thing about Ravnica is, when you love it, it loves you back.
Dear Ravnicans,
Whenever I hear about your city it's always something bizzare and uniquely awful so I ask.
What are the redeeming qualities of Ravnica? (not counting the bare minimum)
And if you can't think of any why do you still live there if you can leave?
#ic falcon#planar posting#ravnica posting#...but I still miss the empty places and windswept beaches of my home. I always will. There are no shells here.

As someone from a plane where there are proper oceans... the most Ravnica has is lakes. And swamps. And underground water. Works fine for blue mana, but it's not a beach, you know?
What do you mean
nobody on Ravnica has ever seen a beach before? There have gotta be oceans here, right?

okay, hi, enchanted objects are my whole thing, let's go! :D
Sometimes black mana just feels like that- especially based on the style of the caster. A lot of Dimir work has that sharpness and absence to it because of the influence of blue mana. Like someone holding their breath, or like you could hear it slice the air, you know? Doesn't necessarily mean someone's raising the dead, but the creator could be from a more ceremonial lineage or have a more structured style of pulling power. Sometimes channeling a lot of black mana safely when you don't have the inherent capacity to hold that much can look a lot like a ritual summoning.
Furthermore, a lot of Ravnican magic is going to feel Alaran because, what I've noticed is, it's very unlikely for any mage on Ravnica to be wholly drawing just one color. Even if a Dimir mage is predominantly drawing the black, there's going to be an undercurrent. It's not the same as how the strands are intertwined on Alara, but it's similar, if that makes sense.
I know I'm rambling, but I could honestly go on about this all day! Especially if you know what metal the amulet you found was forged from, or if it has a maker's mark stating what branch of the guild it's from.
(I'd be really interested to see what you make of Selesnyan magic as someone from Grixis! I'm from Esper, and the first time someone tried to talk me through pulling red, it felt like I was drunk just touching it.)
Ravnicans of the network; do House Dimir consort with dark forces?
I looted a trinket of theirs from the structure-wreck, and in trying to cast the spell within, I learnt it can be a source of mana as well. But the power that it creates is... cold. Alien. Empty, like a dreamless sleep.
Part of that feeling may be that it is spellcraft from a plane unfamiliar to me. But it has an undeniable similarity to the dark forces of my world, which I have spent my life trying to ward off and evade. Demons, lich-lords, bone-hoarding kathari and withering specters.
I should like to know more about its origins and the House that crafted it before I decide whether to make use of it or abandon it in the next acid lake I pass.

I am begging the FDA to require that companies CANNOT just put "spices" as an ingredient but have to label the spices.
"Spices" can mean "this has some oregano and black pepper in it" or it can mean "this has cumin cayenne and paprika and if you eat this you will be sick in bed in pain for a week" for me.
Seriously, this is an allergy issue and a huge oversight on the part of corporations.
Require detailed labeling of spices used in packaged foods NOW.

I Sexually Identify as an Attack Helicopter was one of the best works of sci-fi of our generation and one of the best works of transgender fiction ever written, and there are world renowned authors who still have successful careers after they publicly assassinated the nascent woman who wrote it. I don't think they should ever know peace.

I tell people I'm from Ravnica. The first place I ever traveled to. It's not quite where I'm from, but it's my home now.
I wish I could go home and see the ocean again, but it's just not safe.
So what about you?
'Home.'
What does that word mean to each of you? You, who've had the opportunity to travel far in a changed Multiverse? Do you feel loyalty to the place or plane that birthed you? Or have you, would you, swap it out for a new life, with new possibilities?
Do you introduce yourself with where you're from? And have you ever looked homeward, and not wanted to go back?

Pretty sure that's the former guildpact
A warning to all ravnicans, but especially those who spend time in the undercity or the sewers and storm drains
There is a group of people smuggling in weapons and other supplies from Omenpaths. We know at least some of them are guild members, and they stash their supplies in various dead drops. Be careful if you see any surface guild member (such as an Azorius or Boros) doing things alone in the undercity. These people will jump to lethal force immediately to try to keep their ring out of sight.
I would appreciate any information you all get, as my injuries are preventing me from doing a lot of ground work here.

I find the way some people delegate the term "in love" to describe romantic love exclusively to be deeply unserious. Like man my platonic & familial relationships are the most intense loves I've ever had. I'm in love with my best friends & with my family & with the spider on my balcony & with the way the windows of apartments catch the sunset. Romance is just another way to love something can we stop pretending it's somehow deeper or more intense than all other loves
