He didn't understand, though lately, he had been getting a few headaches from time to time. In their home all to themselves, Rick didn't dare inform Letty, be it because of his pride or dislike of worrying her.

And so, here he sat in their dream world, not indoors to offer visitors tea and sweets, but outside near their well. His head lolled from side to side, almost as though he was napping, but he was wide awake, gaze locked on nothing in particular.

When footsteps had been heard, his head lifted slightly, only turning to see faces he knew wander down the path. He picked up a rock near him, throwing it in front of the others to get their attention, not even bothering to stand up like he normally would. No, he just felt too tired to. Maybe he hadn't been getting enough sleep? Funny since he and Letty slept at the same time, yet she was as energetic as always.

"Hello," he greeted in that soft, distant tone of his. "I would offer tea but... It appears as though I'm not capable of doing so. Welcome to our home though."

Rick shrugged, lifting his cup to his lips as he took a small sip. "You're not exactly the most trustworthy looking person," the young boy pointed out, sighing. "After all, you do come and go as you please. If we weren't here... Well, that'd be seen as quite strange and mysterious." He paused, clearing his throat. "In a bad way," he added, nodding to himself.

They were playing another game of Princess and Knight, Rick having just saved Letty from the evil chimney dragon. She giggled as Rick waved his stick sword, his body in front of hers to take any hits that were to come. Once he had doused the fire, Letty's squealed in delight, saying, "Rick! You're my hero!" She had hugged him tightly, still laughing her girly laughter as she hopped up and down. "But, I got hurt on my forehead, Knight Rick... Can you make it feel better?"

He had blinked in surprise, his eyebrow raising at her question. A kiss wasn't too much of a problem to share, especially if they were family. However, Letty was much more than that to Rick; she was his best friend and companion. And of course, he couldn't say no to her no matter how much he tried.

Sighing in defeat, he grinned and nodded, hands placing themselves on her shoulders as he went up on his tiptoes to gently peck her forehead, a warm smile on his lips. "I'm glad you're safe and mostly unharmed, Princess Letty."

There was a time when Rick had said he hated sweets, Letty often commenting on this and telling others. However, he's actually quite fond of them because Letty often bakes them for them both. 

Due to her constantly making them, he began to develop a sweet tooth, much to the shock of others because it just didn't seem to fit his distant demeanor. His often adding sugar to his tea to please his counterpart also contributed to this. After his sweet tooth grew, he started eating more desserts.

Tbh, that's what I was thinking too. I felt like Fiona could have been the older sibling or something since Teacher was so dependent on her? But the whole blind thing is a pretty good observation. I just thought she had senses like a cat or something--

There’s also the fact that Fiona and Teacher may be twins? I don’t know, they just look really similar (observationmadebykiyu) and Fiona was born blind. Ahahahaha.

While appearing fearless and strong to Letty, Rick has a fear of the dark, just as many other children do. He tries to keep the light alive until the last possible moment, often times curling into his blankets for comfort or secretly moving closer to Letty (most of the time, it's both).

While normally Rick has a straight face resembling Stella, he often smiles and laughs around Letty. One could say his demeanor softens whenever Letty is brought up in a conversation, his hands gesturing as he speaks of his fondness of her.
