There's No Place Like Homecoming

This scene with them cheering up Aria and talking about Homecoming is cute, it's nice that they've really fallen back into their friendship and become such a tight group

Hanna really has Emily's back here when they're asking about who she's going to bring to Homecoming. It's funny seeing how practiced Emily's responses are in comparison to how uncomfortable Hanna is and how she's trying so hard to not let on that anything's up or that she knows anything, while wanting so bad to let Emily know that they'll support her no matter what

Hanna's deadpan "But you make me so hot" in the celibacy club meeting lol

I feel like it had to be an intentional choice to have Emily's Emily bracelet placed so obviously in this scene where she and Maya are talking about spending some time together, it's angled so you can read it clearly the entire time they're talking

Hindsight is 20/20 with these scenes where Hanna talks about Mona being a great friend, always being there for her, harmless and just talking tough, etc.

Can't tell if Ms. Welsh suspects Aria and Ezra, or if she's just super into Ezra herself

Emily looks amazing at the dance, love the blue dress

Okay but Toby was handling that reveal pretty weird, like I get it but damn. It's so hard to watch this, it really goes from zero to a hundred, they're talking, Toby's being weird and then blood and chasing and screaming

And Aria's text "You're with Ali's killer, we have proof..."

The way that Emily's mind immediately jumped to the night Ali disappeared when she saw Toby's tattoo, it's funny how the whole episode would have gone down differently if she'd been in the cafeteria when the girls saw the tattoo the first time

Season 1 Episode 5

Hanna saying "we never should have unblocked A" after yelling at Spencer right at the end of last episode because it was her idea to block A, lmaooo

Aria tends to act like she's a third parent, just totally equal to her parents. I do get that she would feel in the middle of everything after her dad made her keep the affair a secret, but it's still odd to watch

Jenna Marshall is so fun to watch, that scene where she's in the elevator applying her lipstick and just puts Hanna in check without even knowing its her

I forgot that Toby was such a good artist

It's so nice to see Ezra's friend call him out for what he's doing with Aria

Hanna was so good to Emily throughout her whole coming out arc

And bruh Emily walking by Toby, choosing the girls over him made me feel so bad for him

Holly Marie Combs is good, you can really feel how angry, betrayed, embarrassed she is, and it just hits when she talks about how Byron had Aria lying for a year, asking how he could do that to his daughter

Aria is so funny with this whole "who cares what other people think" speech like it's not about something that would get Ezra arrested and ruin his career (as is well-deserved)

It's always interesting to see the Hastings family life lessons, like be competitive be a winner, but know when winning isn't gonna get you ahead, even when it comes to things like a tennis match or doing things like throwing a teenager under the bus to get a table and make a client happy

Emily really is so charming, love seeing her make-up with Toby

Aria and Mike were closer than I remember them being, its nice seeing him go to her and watch movies together while dealing with their family falling apart

Season 1 Episode 4

If I was Ashley Marin I'd be losing my mind, Hanna crashing that car when she's in the middle of both a shoplifting AND murder case; 2 separate cases here

Also interesting that none of the girls want Ali's bracelet, like I totally get it but you would think there would be an element of sentimental value for at least one of them

Bruh Spencer catcalling Ezra lmao, she's so bold

I'm glad that the show immediately explains why just blocking A wouldn't work, there is no escaping A, this isn't cyberbullying its so much more all-encompassing

It's funny watching Toby try to like awkwardly flirt with Emily, like shot your shot I respect it

It's so heartbreaking watching Hanna so excited to see her dad, asking Spencer how she looks and being so happy when Spencer says she doesn't look like herself

I love the way Maya says "I think we look cuute" and I get why it would hurt her that Emily is so upset, but like also c'mon Maya. this was like 15 years ago it was honestly a lot harder to come out back then and like Maya should have an idea about what she was getting into considering how Emily's acted up to now, like she's clearly not out

Ashley and Hanna are so in sync, love their scenes together

Ezra makes himself so obvious, it's so bizarre knowing the way that things go down and how planned out everything was

Toby's face kills me when he opens his locker, like he doesn't even look pissed, its more "damn there's so much shaving cream in my locker"

Also he really is so cool to Emily, not bringing up the pictures until she does and making it clear that he's not judging her for them, trying to use his experience being treated different to try to give her advice on how to handle it

It's nice seeing the girls slowly opening up and relying on each other more and more.

Just a sidenote, I always love Emily's expressions. I know she doesn't actually say a lot most of the time, but I feel like if you just look at her, her face is saying everything you need to know. The eyerolls, the concern, the coy flirty looks, the "be so for real right now" looks, I love them I could look at Shay Mitchell for forever

Season 1 Episode 3

Rewatching Pretty Little Liars for the first time in forever, and there's so much that I've forgotten about

The entire character of Sean

How Wren was very weird from the start, like bro was making moves on Spencer from the moment he saw her

The Hastings family reaction is so odd, like I do get Melissa being pissed because she saw what happened and knows that Spencer liked him and probably has complicated feelings about everything, but Veronica does not seem that concerned about the grown man going for her teenage daughter and I don't think we even see the dad in this episode

Also so many people try to say that Emily never saw Alison for what she was and how she treated people, but like there's so many moments where we see how untrue that is. When Spencer points out that Toby was a "Perv" who watched them change Emily is very quick to point out that Ali was the only one that saw that, and it's clear how unreliable of a narrator Emily thinks Ali is

Byron's girlfriend is wild, just determined to follow Ella around Rosewood

Mona acting all freaked out about stealing Sean's car is so funny after knowing everything that happens and knowing that Mona was probably so into it

The beginning of Emily and Toby's friendship was sweet, I wish they'd kept it a little stronger in the later seasons

I totally forgot that the original idea for remembering Ali was out in the woods, I love Aria's whole take about how they should instead put a bench in the middle of town and make the killer have to see it every day in comparison to Emily's more private mourning, Hanna sighing at the whole thing like maybe she doesn't want to pass it every day either, and Spencer kind of not seeming to have much of an opinion regardless
