 This needs to be more widely recognized. I’m part Native American, white passing, trans, and gay. When people don’t know that I’m not fully white, they are nicer to me about being part of lgbtq+, but after people know I’m of mixed ethnicity they gay much weirder towards me and alienate me more. And when I see privileged white gays treating pride like this it infuriates me. I used to live in a part of Houston Texas when I was little, I was constantly beaten up for even acting slightly masculine, and now even after we moved my family still has trouble excepting that I’m a guy because I like feminine things. I’ve been put through so much just to get to where I am today, and I’m still not even allowed to get a boys hair cut. So the fact that I’ve gone through so much to get barely any where, but I see people who mistreat pride just because they think that’s what it’s meant for even though it’s supposed to represent how we deserve equality just like everyone else.

I think we, as a community, need to do better - and I know we can
