What the hell. One of my coworkers worked on an antimatter stellarator. Matter/antimatter plasma. That's so cool!??? wtf,,,!

You spend a day generating positrons (antielectrons) and storing them in magnetic bottles. Then when you have enough, you inject them into a stellarator with an equal number of electrons, and heat them up. Antimatter-matter plasma. Hot damn.

It's a perfectly mass-balanced "pair plasma." Instead of heavy positive ions and light electrons, your positive and negative species have exactly equal mass. No length-scale separation, no time-scale separation, zero flow, zero turbulence, zero instabilities. Primordial universe stuff. In a stellarator!!! Fuck!!!!

If you keep the plasma thin and electron temperature low – or would it be lepton temperature??? What the fuck??? – the pair plasma can last for hours. That's so cool. That's the coolest thing I've ever heard of. Hot damn.

sorry if i’m being a party pooper but because rabies is apparently the new joke on here ??? please remember that rabies has an almost 100% fatality rate after symptoms develop so if you’re bitten or scratched by an animal that you aren’t 100% sure is vaccinated then GO TO A DOCTOR. it’s not a joke. really.

20 New Restaurants Challenge #11

While looking for somewhere to eat, I found an outdoor Hispanic diner that had several Hispanic men in large pickup trucks parked around it.

As far as I'm concerned, those are the greenest of green flags when it comes to Hispanic food so I checked it out.

I got a chorizo torta which had lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, guacamole, and jalapeño in it. I also decided to try this snack idea they were offering where they took tortilla chips, seasoned them, and served them in the bag with cream cheese and corn on top.

I didn't like Hispanic food growing up. But I've since realized it was because I ate at "Hispanic food for white people" restaurants.

The Torta was absolutely lovely. The bread was so soft and toasty. And it had so much filling that it kept falling out.

The chips... weren't so good. Oh well.

I'm a trans guy and Derek, I can tell you my wardrobe has improved a huge amount simply by reading your threads. The "dress for your body type" stuff never worked well for me; your threads about putting together an intentional look and for getting a good fit - that's 99% of the game.
