My 2 cents on Skizz as a trans, (not practicing) jewish person.

He stuck his foot in his mouth, and he’s right, as much as it sucks transness is a very charged thing nowadays and it’s perfectly within his right to not want to talk about it so he isn’t harassed over it. He’s apologized and said yes he agrees trans rights are human rights and that’s something he supports. Skizz is also pretty average for a liberal man in Arizona. In fact he’s a very average liberal guy overall. He’s also very new to fame.

Yes he might have maga mods but it’s fairly clear to me he didn’t choose them based on their political views and how they’re harmful. I have family members, and neighbors who I am still friendly with and still have a working relationship with because as shitty as it is, these people are still people who might have value to you or the job they are doing, entirely disconnected from their political beliefs. I have coworkers who I am at the very least acquaintances with who are maga, and I cannot control their beliefs so I still have a professional relationship with them. Yes it sucks how political the US is, yes it sucks that these people have a hateful rhetoric, but I don’t blame skizz for having these people there to do a job. I have had friends and coworkers who are maga and not known, or had to get over it so they wouldn’t find a way to fuck me up.

On that note I also can see why skizz might not remove them as moderators, these people will definitely try and find a way to absolutely wreck his career. I’m a person who doesn’t deal with nearly that much being in the public view and I’ve had maga people try to wreck my life over less even without knowing of my queerness. Along from this I haven’t seen people talk about chat messages that are anything maga hates being removed. These people, as shitty as they might be personally, are there doing a job.

Overall I think skizz is stuck between a rock and a hard place and there is a lot of nuance people aren’t seeing. It is well within people’s right to be upset, especially trans people and poc, however, I am sure there is a lot going on behind the scenes. Skizz has apologized for the harmful thing he said, and it’s been 2 days, it might take a long time to deal with these moderators in a successful way.

Everyone has their own right to be upset, but a lot of people are acting like this is the end of the world, or that skizz is a horrible person, not just what is likely the case: that he’s ignorant. He has plenty of friends and coworkers who can educate him on where he went wrong and he can deal with it accordingly. This is not something that needs to be blown way out of proportion.

WASHINGTON, May 28, 2025 – Hormel Foods Corporation, a Tucker, Ga. establishment, is recalling approximately 256,185 pounds of canned beef stew product that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically wood, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The canned beef stew item was produced on February 4, 2025. The following product is subject to recall [view labels]: • 20-oz. metal cans containing “Dinty Moore BEEF STEW” with “BEST BY FEB 2028” and lot code “T02045” printed on the can. The lot code may have an additional number at the end. The product subject to recall bears establishment number “EST 199G” printed on the can. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

some emphasis mine. 256,185 pounds of stew are being recalled! hundreds of thousands of cans that might have some extra harmful fiber in them. get your daily fiber intake somewhere else! these cans were shipped nationwide. this is not limited to a handful of states, it is the entire united states.

20oz cans that say best by feb 2028 with the lot code TP2045 are being recalled. and again, best by 2028! unless this wood is addressed now, someone could get seriously hurt years in the future.

The problem was discovered after the establishment notified FSIS that they had received three consumer complaints reporting pieces of wood in the beef stew product.

this recall only occurred because people reported finding wood in their stew. remember, if you see a problem with your food, PLEASE help others by reporting it! otherwise food companies might not even know there is a danger! please report problems, even if you think other people already reported those problems!

if you have an affected can, you can either throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.

Hello everyone. I'm absolutely terrified to open up about this, but I am having surgery on my thyroid to remove a goiter that has become very large / given me problems eating and breathing in general. My ocd is going crazy and catastrophizing;, I have been neglecting my health for five years until I experienced some symptoms that terrified me. My dr. Advised me that I will need two types of surgeons, one an ENT and one a thoracic surgeon. I am going to make a formal fundraiser very soon, but I was informed by my Dr. That the overall cost of this surgery (plus recovery) will be around 700,000 pesos- almost 13,000 usd. That is. My wages of three whole years. I am from the global south, in the philippines, and my wages are far smaller compared to my peers in the global north. My insurance is trying to cover around 40,000-80,000 pesos, I am unsure yet. Right now, I am unable to work all three of my jobs because I needed to do a ton of tests and resting, my new meds making me extremely drowsy as I was also diagnosed with type II diabetes and hypertension (?). I still am the only person in my family who can work- my mother is completely unable to move independently due to nerve damage from sepsis, she is legally blind and a full time wheelchair user. my father is very very immunocompromised due to heart disease and kidney failure, and my younger sister is autistic, with a low frustration threshold. Since Early April, I have had no income as I was in and out of the hospital; thanks to everyone's generous donations for my teeth that I am now allocating for this surgery instead, insurance, and my lovely friend Mango's large donation, I have been able to eat well, and cover about 12%-15% of my upcoming surgery's fund. Am trying to build up more breathing room for my gofundme, as it is common practice for philippine hospitals to prevent patients from leaving without having paid in full. I am humbly begging for everyone to please help me, Because I have not been working and will be unable to work for a couple of weeks. this is the most terrifying thing I have ever gone through, and I have been ignoring it for the past 5 years ♡ if you are blessed with disposable income and a generous heart, please send it my way!
