The two wars in sxf

The first war seemingly happened in roughly 40 years ago when Henderson was in his early twenties:

Westalis and Ostania signed the East-West Pact, but war broke out again about twenty some years ago.

It's most likely that [redacted]/Roland joined the second war between the nations. (Yor is 27 years old. Loid is most probably in his early 30s, if we assume that he and his friends were at least 18 when they reunited.)

Chapter 97 - the dance

Remember Henry asked Martha to dance in Ch.96?

40 years ago, Martha asked him if he'd invite anyone to the dance:

I wonder when Henderson finally realised how ignorant he was.

It was just a dance 40 years late.

Chapter 94 - Their first family fun time

[Manga spoiler alert]

I know, I know, before that, we have the penguin chapter, the doggy crisis arc, the cruise arc, and there's even Loid taking Anya and Bond to the park to meet with the Handler play with Aaron chapter.

Ch. 94 is the first time no one is disturbed or distracted by their work/mission. They were there to have fun, and they had fun.

And that INCLUDES Loid, who is unusually smiley the whole time. He told himself not to think about the tonitrus bolt, and just had fun with his family - it's almost the first time we see him enjoying himself.

to this without mentioning his mission the whole chapter

And Yor had fun too. Even at times she still panicked, she actually had a lot of character development.

And this panel when she calmed down and came back to her family <3

And of course there's Bond, who didn't even know how to have fun when he first became a Forger.

And of course Anya had fun.

But her sense of waku waku might be hinting towards something more dangerous which I have already discussed here.

I adore Ch.94 because of that. Every time after Anya gets her results at school, Endo tries to update us how far the family has gone from the beginning. It happened after Anya had her first exams - that Loid had a conversation with Donovan, and that two chapters, to me, sounded like a report card for Loid as a dad.

Maybe the next family fun time would come after Anya has her next exams. Or maybe it would come because of Plan C. Either way, the Forgers having fun is the most waku waku thing ever.

Bowel discomfort has become one of the longest running gag in SxF

And it has been used as one effective excuses everywhere.

Twilight has been doing it first (iirc)

And of course as a kid who copy her parents, Anya has learned about the efficiency of the excuse and has said it

Damian also has used it in such a dire situation

Even a veteran class assassin such as McMahon also has use the same tactic

And for those who has watch the movie Code White, Endo himself has created an OC to be played out by the anime team, and at the most beautiful animation scene at the movie nonetheless (a bit too long for my taste but still hillarious).

Quiet Protagonists

I'm not sure if others have come to this same conclusion, but another reason I love Spy x Family is for how quiet the leads are.

Sure they can be loud and exuberant, but that is only during times when they are trying to make a spectacle of themselves (or Yor is drunk).

A lot of the absurdity or volume you usually get from shows (especially comedy) only happens in their heads. Even then, these drawn out sequences for us the viewer is less than a second for the characters.

Loid comes off as the cool, collected, and calculating spy or the happy, family man, father; while on the inside he is always one step away from a panic attack.

Yor is the warm, overly polite, and naive clerk or an unbeatable assassin; but in her own head she is constantly worried about managing her strength or killing everyone around her to get out of small talk.

Then there is Anya. Anya is four and has daydreams and imaginings to match this. As a telepath, she is naturally in her own head quite a bit and isn't the chattiest amongst her friends. Meanwhile, Anya's mind is where we the audience experience the majority of the chaos found in every other characters minds.

The books on first panel are ones that I've read 😆😆. Are you familiar with these titles? My favorites are Pride and Prejudice and d'Artagnan romances ( 3 musketeers - ten years later). Most of these books, I've read them by downloading pdfs from Project Gutenberg. If you can't get your hands on physical copies, I strongly recommend this website.

As for the Jane Austen book that Loid is reading, it's the one that's been waiting for me for a very long time. I bought a copy about a year ago and still haven't read it 🥲😅😅

As a fan of Yor, I loved how the movie emphasized her importance in the Forger family. She is irreplaceable to both Loid and Anya and it made me really emotional! Loid’s determination to keep the family together also got me right in the feels!

For the people that want a Twiyor team up, I think you will like what the movie did with them 👀👌🏼

There’s a scene in the movie that reinforces my theory that both Loid and Yor know that the other is hiding something/is more than what they say they are but they decided not to think too much about it.
