Day 30
Uh oh blog. I think it’s time that you died. It kinda feels weird, having to write in you for 30 days. I really cant believe that 30 days have already passed since I started you. I feel like nothing yet a lot has changed. Let’s get on with Valentine’s day.
- Music: After class on Wednesday, I went to the rec to practice some dances for a performance coming in three weeks. I also have been practicing other dances on the side. The songs are for k-move, and it’s pretty fun having something to do to relieve stress.
- Food: I had a lot of chocolate on Wednesday. First, my teacher got us chocolate for class, and later that day, I got some more form a friend. I’m not a huge chocolate person, but I can appreciate the gestures. When I went home that day I also had some celery and curry. (did I mention there’s a lot of leftover curry?)
- Purchases: I also went thrift shopping this night. Yes, I know I am contradicting myself but I really am happy because I found some articles of clothing that are nice. I bought a yellow oversized shirt I cut into a tank top. And a yellow striped button up that I cut the sleeves off to make it short sleeve. They were both $4 so I think that’s a steal.

Day 29
Hey blog, I guess I’m gonna have to finish you up now. Tuesday was a good day, it was just like any other day. My body was still sore from Sunday but I found out that I basically have a job for MCAE at the St. Paul Student Center. Anyways, let’s get on with it.
- Music: Been still listening to k-pop, I really haven’t understood the concept of why it is so addicting. I heard that it’s kinda like a mathematical equation designed to make us addicted. LOONA still makes me happy, and having some new songs makes my commute feel faster.
- Food: For Tuesday, I didn’t really eat anything at school, when I went home, I had some curry from the previous night. I also snacked on some green bell peppers too that night.
- Purchases: I’m trying not to buy anything until I get paid on Friday, and it is hard. So nothing was really bought today, and it was just another regualr day. Have I already said that?

Day 28
Hey blog, finally on Monday.
I didn’t go to class that morning because my entire body was SORE from the day before. I felt really great that night but when I woke I felt like an old man with back pains. My legs, pecs, and arms also hurt like hell. I ended up spending that morning in bed trying not to move because it would hurt.
- Music: I have heard Carly Rae Jepsen before but I haven’t really listened to her album E-MOT-ION. And boy, is it a GEM<3. She has this style that is poppy but also reminiscent of the late 90s early 2000′s sounding feels. It’s really good and I’m listening to it right now as I’m writing this.
- Food: I brought myself some snacks to treat myself for the past week. Also I was out of groceries. But yesterday, I got myself a Naked Juice and a pastry bun from United Noodle as a treat. It was really good and I forgot how much I love sugar (uh-oh). My roommates made kimchi pancakes and vegetable curry that night so I ate pretty good that night. I also snuck some vegetable straws that I bought that day.
- Purchases: All in all, I would say I spent around $60 for groceries. Granted, It would probably take me 2 or 3 weeks to finish the food. Most of it is vegetables to snack on when I get hungry. And some are snacks to treat me for being good throughout the week.
Monday was a good day, but I really wished that my body wasn’t as sore because I’m still hurting and it is taking away from my ability to walk fast.

Day 26 + 27
Hey blog, still catching up with you and I’m going to merge my weekend together. Saturday was a nice day, and Sunday was very intense.
- Saturday: To be honest, all I ever do is stay home on weekends now. I had work at 5-10:30 so I was just being productive. I did my laundry and took pictures for my collection (which hasn’t grown tbh). I really need to go thrifting so maybe i’ll find something for this last collection? I just decided to lounge around until work on Saturday because I feel as if I haven’t been doing any relaxing lately. For food, I ate a rice bowl from work and it was delicious. I also watched Trolls and Friends With Benefits for the first time that night. For purchases, I bought some ice cream and some cookies for my roommates who asked me to pick them up. Otherwise, Saturday was a chill day.
- Sunday: On Sunday, I woke up around 8 am. It was weird because I usually sleep in on weekends. I didn’t really do anything for the next couple of hours, and then just got ready for work at 12. At work I had half of a chicken sandwich from my co worker and drank diet Mt. Dew. When I got off of work at 4, I went to the Rec to practice a new dance with some of my friends. The song was INTENSE but I felt really great because it made me work out a sweat. Little do I know that it would kill me the next day. I also ate some almonds that night and went to bed early for class the next day.
I feel as if I am not really questioning why I do what I do. Hopefully, when I look back on this blog I can see how I felt and what I did those days. I know I write the same old stuff but some days can be singled out and remembered because of some event that happened that day.

Day 25
Hey blog, Friday was a very fun day for me. I had my favorite class, Photography and the rest of the day was just fun for me.
- Music: I listen to the same playlist every day when I commute. It’s in my collection for Weeks 2 and 3. But for Friday, I performed for the MCAE event and I also watched other performances that I loved.
- Food: I had to meet with my boss at work on Friday and he gave me free lunch. It was Pho, and it reminded me of what my Mom used to make for me on special occasions. Granted, it wasn’t as good as my moms, but it was still pretty good. Also, later in the day I had pineapples and the new orange diet coke for dinner. I got them at the Coffman Gopher express.
- Purchases: I spent around $5 for my dinner that night. It was probably overpriced because college. I was at least content with what I got for dinner that night because performing makes me really nervous and anxious.
I really like performing, maybe I can incorporate korean culture into my project.

Day 24
Hey blog, just catching up so I can almost be done with you. Sorry I’ve been a terrible poster, it’s really hard for me to do something habitually for a couple of weeks. Anyways, let’s get on with the blog post.
- Music: So k-move is getting more intense because I feel like we are all learning as we do performances. The two songs that we will perform tomorrow are Heart Shaker by Twice and Mamma Mia by Kara (No, it’s not the ABBA version.) :( But these songs look easy and when we actually started learning them it was pretty difficult. The show is tomorrow but we are actually really good for a group that hasn’t practiced all together.
- Food: For Thursday I had a bratwurst and curly fries for $4 from Gopher express. It was delicious and I ate to prepare for the dance practice later that night. I also drank diet coke with it because whats the point in adding extra calories?
- Purchases: Other than the food, I bought a poster board from the Bookstore because I had a project due on the following Tuesday. I think it came to be around $5. This college is literally draining me of money for mundane objects like artboards.
I’ve been trying to lose more weight since I have extra fat in my belly area. It has stayed with me even when I lost a lot of weight and it makes me angry. I don’t know if it’s extra skin, but I just want it gone. The cardio from dance helps a lot tho.

Day 23
Hey blog, I’m gonna try to catch up with you and also reflect on these past few weeks. So day 23 is Wednesday, lets go!
- Music: Kpop really has a big influence in my life and I’m gonna go ahead and say that it has definitely made me do certain things that others probably don’t look at. I grew up with it since 2008, but recently have had control over what I wanted since I moved up here. Living in Minneapolis and seeing others who share the same interest makes me want to be a kpop star even more.
- Food: I ate curry that night. I was pretty busy until 5 because of dance practice so I couldn’t eat anything that morning or throughout the day. I feel like it’s normal, because I don’t get hungry during the day but when I get home I’m able to eat.
- Purchases: I really did not buy anything on Wednesday. It was just another typical day of school, k-move, then home to do homework or Youtube.
I want to buy some more clothes so I can have this look book fashion magazine type thingy. I think I can add some stories about my experience with whatever I felt or incorporate some other pictures of inspiration.

Day 22
Hey blog, kinda sad cause you only have around 8 days to live. Who knows? I might continue to write in you or create an entire new one just to relieve stress. Anyways, let’s talk about Tuesday.
- Music: LOONA is added to my music playlist and I haven’t talked about this one song that I enjoy hearing. It’s called “American Kids” by Poppy. I found out about her because last year she gained a lot of attention because of her weird Youtube videos with subliminal messages. American Kids is a song about how Poppy doesn’t want to conform to society and the pressures of her peers or older people. She sings about how she doesn’t wanna be like them, and how the things they do won’t affect her the same.
- Food: I had some banana bread for breakfast yesterday. For lunch, it was $2 Tuesday at the St. Paul student center so I bought a quesadilla and some curly fries that totalled to $4.30. I had dance practice later that night so I didn’t want to dance on an empty stomach.
- Purchases: Other than the fries and quesadilla, I really didn’t buy anything else. It has actually been really hard to try and save money. I keep on forgetting that needs and wants are not the same thing, so to try and buy a lot of stuff when I can’t work to refill it is killing me.
I really think that Poppy’s song is the best thing that compares to what we’ve been reading. About how people want to fit in instead of standing out because of the fear of being judged.

Day 21
Hi blog, let’s talk about Monday.
Monday was very plain, with me just going to class and staying late a little to get some extra homework done. I had k-move practice at 3:30 so I brought some gym clothes to the rec.
- Music: Singing in the Rain by Jinsoul is such an aggressive beat to workout to. She is a part of LOONA, that girl group I talked about before. When I arrived at the rec around 1:30, I worked out to her song.
- Food: I made some chicken curry when I went home that night. We also had some overripe bananas so I ended up also making banana bread. I ate pretty well on Monday I would say.
- Purchases: I didn’t buy anything today, so there isn’t anything to say here.
Kpop is actually a big part of my life. It’s actually influenced every decision that I have made growing up. It has made me change the way I see my body, the way I dress, the way I act. These aren’t bad qualities though, I feel as if this influence has made me grown as a person and gave me a sense of why I do the things I do.

Day 19 & 20
Hi blog, my weekends aren’t that fun anymore. Sure, it was Superbowl weekend but I really haven’t done anything but work.
- Music: I’m constantly searching for new music, so during the weekend I stumbled upon a yet to debut girl group named LOONA. They have 12 members, and show a new member each month. That member has her own music video and song, which is the best form of marketing in my opinion. These girls are talented, and by having their own song they get to showcase their skills. I did get the songs on iTunes because they’re so well produced.
- Food: At work, I ate a tofu bun mi. I also ate some ramen on Saturday night when I was doing homework. For Sunday, I had an omelette and some jackfruit. I also had some nachos some more celery I got from Target.
- Purchases: Other than the food on Saturday, I brought a 9-Cube Organizer from Target for $40. I also bought a Tripod for $15 and found my $2 item for the Splurchase paper. Really did not have anything in mind but when I saw this I was really excited to get it. A perfect example of a splurchase. I don’t have a valentine, but I found this in the valentine section.

Day 18
Hey blog, I’m on Friday (YAY) Here’s a list of things I have consumed.
- Music: BLESS YOUTUBE AND SOME CHANNELS ON THERE. I found a mashup between Red Velvet’s Bad Boy and EXO’s Ko Ko Bop and it sounds so nice. I can’t stop listening to it. These two recent songs are so nice and pair really well with each other.
- Food: My roommates and I planned to go to the club that night and have some fun for the weekend. I had k-move practice before I went home, so I was pretty hungry. I think I ate some Lo Mein that my roommate made and had some carrots to snack on afterwards. We really didn’t plan on going out that night, but let me say that I was glad I ate that night.
- Purchases: My roommate and I brought some fun juice for the night. It was about $20, so we split the bill. Also, the entrance fee for the club was $20, almost DOUBLE what we used to pay for! So I was down $30 for that night. And to finish that night off, I ubered everyone home.
Really, Friday was just a nice day to destress and let loose the first couple of weeks of the semester. I’m glad that my roommates and I had left the house that night, I really feel that we all have gotten closer.

Day 17
Hey blog, i’m 5 days behind. (Insert crying face) Been super busy and I probably forgot about you.
But, I have received some information about my consumption habits. And I’m gonna continue with the consumption blog but still add some form of economy, society, and culture.
- Music: I;m thinking of just having a song of the day, because I find myself liking new songs here and there. These kpop music videos have an aesthetic and fashion that is very uncommon in the US. EXO’s Ko Ko Bop is a nice groovy jam that I enjoy listening to everyday.
- Food: I just finished my celery bag and had peanut butter toast. There’s no food in the house and I’m pretty much ok with it. Even though I’m starving.
- Purchases: I didn’t buy anything today, so there isn’t much I can say for this point. I am however just trying to save money for the next rent.
The outfits in Ko Ko Bop are really nice and do influence what I want to buy. I also have noticed that my purchases are synonymous with my moods and attitude.

Day 16
Hey blog, it’s Thursday and I’m just catching up as always. Wednesday was a fun day for me. It was a little warmer than usual. Anyways, let’s get on with the consumption part.
- Music: Do you ever go on Youtube and end up somewhere where you thought you’d be? This was me on Wednesday. I don’t know what happened, but I ended up listening to The Garden, a conceptual punk band that was formed by two twin brothers. They have a song that I love a lot, titled “egg” and it is great. Otherwise, Red Velvet is still playing 24/7.
- Food: I finished my risotto when I was done with class. Also, the MCAE All Star Awards Program was at Coffman and I was invited. There was a great selection of food there. (TBH, I came because of free food) I had some fried rice, spring rolls, wontons, and lo mein. Everything was vegetarian/vegan, so it was pretty great.
- Purchases: I went to Target that night to buy something with the $2 Spluchase paper. I really didn’t find anything though. But I did spend around $10 on celery and coffee. It’s probably a weird purchase, but I already finished my first bag of celery.
Wednesday was a fun day, I went out of the house and met a few friends at Coffman. I guess I was just in a funk on tuesday. Oh! And I also won an Ancestry DNA kit with the raffle, so maybe we’ll find out about my heritage soon.

Day 15
Hey blog. I keep forgetting about you. I hope you don’t leave me. (LOL you won’t.) I recently read somewhere that having a journal and writing in it is a great way to relieve stress, which is great by the way. I’m just gonna go ahead and write the consumption part.
- Music: I literally only play Red Velvet’s new song. It’s that kind of obsession where you find a new song and play the crap out of it until it becomes annoying. I mean, it sets a mood that I can visualize, so maybe music will have something to do with my 5th project?!?! I have a layout in mind, but I have to make it come to life first.
- Food: Tuesday was a ok day for food, I really didn’t eat anything until I came home because Tuesdays are my busy days. I did have some Himalayan Green Tea from the MCAE student center though. I made some risotto when I went home and ate half of it. Otherwise, I just ended up working on some graphic design stuff for my job the rest of the night.
-Purchases: I signed up for the Tau Sigma National Honor Society that night and got an honor cord. The total ended up being $60 for the membership and cord, but I was proud to be able to be apart of this National Honor Society.
Tuesday was pretty much cold, so I really didn’t do anything outside of the house except for school. I went to bed pretty late that night though. To be honest, I haven’t spoken to any friends lately. I’ve been too focused on myself, which is good, but I kinda feel empty.

Day 14
Hey blog, it’s still Tuesday and I’m writing Monday’s blog.
I didn’t sleep really well on Sunday night, but when my alarm rang at 6:30, I woke up and couldn’t go back to bed. I then remembered that Red Velvet’s song came out and immediately put on my headphones and watched their music video. I’ll get into more detail in the consuming section.
-Music: FINALLY!!!! Red Velvet’s song is soooooo well produced. It’s very trap beat-y, but the song gives me a vibe that it could’ve been written in 2009. Especially the melody. I have the song on my phone now and throughout today, just played it on repeat.
-Food: I did not eat anything the whole day so around 5pm I met up with one of my high school friends and got an Acai Bowl from Jamba Juice. I never really ordered anything there before so I tried it out and it was delicious. (Maybe because I was literally starving) I had an interview to be on the KSA board that night so I just stayed at Coffman until 7. Later that night, I was still hungry so I made breakfast potatoes and scrambled eggs. It was delicious but I ate more than I should’ve. Oh well.
-Purchases: Other than the acai bowl, I really didn’t buy anything that day. I’ve been spending a lot of money lately, so I was lenient to get anything else.
I applied to be a Design Director for KSA board and I really hope that that wish comes true. It would be a great work and life experience to have for the future.
