You ever post something in the middle of the night and look back at it later and realize it's not really as funny as you thought and there was no need to share it publicly. So you make another post in the middle of the night to acknowledge that even though nobody really cares...

I read a lot of stories on the internet about Karen's that demand to speak to managers, but very rarely do I come across anyone talking about the people who would rather yell at whichever crewmember is hapless enough to get caught in the crossfire. While it's reasonable to complain when a mistake has been made do not take it out on the person assisting you by raising your voice, cursing at them, and calling them names. If you'd like to escalate your complaint, kindly ask to speak with a manager and then wait for them to grab one, don't continue to rant at them in the meantime. This is especially true over phones.
Quick context, I work in a Carry Out/Delivery pizza parlour.
Unfortunately, today one of my co-workers, knowing how busy we were, tried to handle such a call their own within the best of their abilities, asking if the customer wanted to speak with a manager and was kept from doing so by this customer’s rant, even trying to tell the customer that THEY couldn’t help them because they weren’t a manager and to let them grab someone that could, having to raise their voice to get the customer’s attention when ignored. The phone call ended with the customer saying they didn’t want their order and wanted a refund and that they would never order from us again.
It could have ended there. They called back an hour later wanting to know why their order they wanted cancelled still hadn’t arrived. I was the one to pick up the phone this time. Realizing who they were, I immediately  and nicely asked them to wait while I put them on hold and grab a manager to help them. They started to raise their voice to continue their rant this time unto me, but instead of sitting through abuse, I put the line on hold and did what I said I would.
People like to say the customer is always right, but to be honest. Not only are they not always right, they’re not always IN the right. Mistakes happen, but try to remember that we’re all humans with our own emotions and that we’re being paid to make and deliver you’re food, not to be verbally abused by you.

Please reblog if you think that “they/them/theirs” is a valid set of pronouns.
Anyone who does not reblog this is an idiot.

children, let this elder fandom auntie tell you a thing:
if you take the time to comment on a fanfiction but your comment is some variation of “this story would’ve been better if ______” then perhaps, in this one case, it is better to Not Comment At All
like, I am a disillusioned, emotionless fandom native at this point, so your comment will be met with mild annoyance and some form of dumbfounded laughter as I share it with my friends and baffle over the fact that you took the time to say, “this is cute but i would’ve liked it better if you had written a completely different story than this one”
but some people who write and post fic have not been in fandom as long as I have and therefore they have not built up an immunity to This Shit, so perhaps take their feelings in mind and wonder how it will affect them emotionally and mentally for you to essentially say the story they wrote wasn’t good enough
aight? aight

LISTEN UP
I’m American. I live right in the southwest and let me tell you, it’s hell over here right now, but it will become a lot worse if Article 13 is passed.
You’ve probably heard about Article 13, and if you haven’t, go watch this video right now. Whatever you’re doing can wait for sixteen minutes and two seconds, because a second-long vote could destroy everything online.
youtube
Whether you’re from Europe or not, this law could affect you, so you should care Article 13 because it is going to destroy the online lives that you have built. No more posting memes, no more remixes, and no more YouTubers from anywhere.
Jacksepticeye will no longer be able to upload.
Markiplier will no longer be able to upload.
MatPat won’t.
Thomas Sanders.
Dan and Phil.
How to Basic.
All of your favorite content creators are at risk of losing their jobs because people want stricter laws on copyright, which will support the larger media companies but kill smaller creators. And because of this, we may lose everything online.
So spread the word! Reblog this, reblog other people’s posts, find petitions, write your own posts! If you’re in Europe, contact your MEP’s and get them to understand how it will affect the people who use the internet.
Please.
