Hello Tumblr

Well, I am one year old.

After watching Dragon Ball Super SuperHero and letting my curiosity lead me to this place known as Tumblr last year, I can say it has been a fun and inviting experience to be on this platform. I've never had this kind of interactive and social outlet ever in my life. My creativity and ideas developed or were expressed in ways I never thought I was capable of doing; my discovery of all these talented artists, writers, opinions, everything I find on Tumblr has me feeling excited, attentive, and more curious each time I'm online. And all the support, likes, reblogs, and comments from all you wonderful people just make it worthwhile. It truly has been a blast of a year to be on here. : )

So that's why it saddens me that I will be inactive following the new year of 2024. : (

I've been considering this course of action for a while, and I've fully decided to go through with this.

Allow me to explain: The bottom line is stuff has come up. I don't feel comfortable to specifically state what that 'stuff' is, but I can assure you all that it's nothing life-threatening or life-shattering. Situations have arisen for me, and honestly, they're the kind of problems that I could ignore and still be fine. But that way of responding just doesn't sit well with me. I have to deal with them, so the issues won't build up over time and bite me back in the future. Unfortunately, that requires of me to cut my time here.

I wish to say that I'll return and resume my activity, but even I can't guarantee that. My process, if you will, will be of me accomplishing each obstacle, but once done, they'll lead to more handling of their consequences, both positive and negative. Coming back here: I just don't know.

But in case I don't return, I want to say something: When I started my account I had no intention of making posts or interacting with anyone. I just wanted to see what you guys were writing/making about Dragon Ball (The K18 material, TBH), like it, and have some asks of my own. But thanks to the suggestions and informative answers from @fantasyrecolors / @thefantasylife (you're the best), I put more effort into distinguishing myself from a bot to an actual person.

I figured I would repost stuff I liked and write the occasional, original post about anything on my mind, never having ambitions of being popular or affecting the Dragon Ball Tumblr community. But when I posted my Android 18 Not You Meme, you guys liked it and that just made me feel so appreciated. It was just an idea I had which I wanted to put out there. That inspired me to be more involved in this Dragon Ball Community. You see, I'm a dork, but I've always been one solo. I never had anyone to ask their opinions or say to them I enjoy their fan-work about a property we both enjoy, and vice versa. But as I continued to settle and develop my blog, I just kept finding so many incredible individuals here with their fabulous art, engaging stories, intriguing takes, and hilarious jokes. And these people/you guys took time to see and support what I brought to the table. Even beyond the Dragon Ball series. I felt inspired and motivated by that to keep doing what I could to support and join this rad community.

I know Tumblr isn't a perfect social media platform with all its faults, but these people and many, many more made Tumblr an awesome playground to be in.

You all made my time here wonderful and jaw dropping. You guys make Dragon Ball fun. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

I won't delete my account. I love this blog too much to see it all gone in a flash, the same unfortunate fate to fellow comrade Certified Krillin Stan. I'll just leave my blog here and step back from the Tumblr website; the most I'll do is just view (rarely) what's new. There may be a chance I could fully return when DB Daima rolls around, but no guarantees. I hope how I continue in my future will lead me back here to keep supporting this section of the DB community and any other cools guys I see here; possibly return with more resources/skills to do more for this group and my account than I could do now. I do hope so.

Until then, Keep spreading that K18 Love, Let your Creativity Roam Free, Keep Supporting Each Other, and above all else, Have A Great 2024 Everybody.

My first ever ask. Just reposting for sentimental reasons.

Dear Mr. Meta,

Apologies for the length of this "ask," but I've got some things to say/ask to you.

I'm new to Tumblr and wish to say Thank you for being a fun and insightful look in the DB franchise with info and arguments I find thought-provoking. While there are posts that I don't entirely agree with (2 people who don't agree on everything, what a twist!), I respect your stances and don't want to add to the large pile of vulgar insults and hot-headed messages I assume you receive constantly. So thanks for being one of my first bloggers that I follow.

Another, but much bigger thank you to you (as well as to other Tumblr people such as Chestnut Island, SweetEscape Artist, etc.) for opening my eyes to the under dog of the DB series: Krillin. I now have a new mad respect for the man that I never would have imagined to come from me. Now realizing the hardships he went through, the power and skills that are overlooked by most fans, and his essential personality to the core group, I can safely say that I am rooting for him more than the Saiyans (not that I hate the Saiyan characters, but now see they hog the character spotlight, considering they are Toei's bread butter)! Furthermore, how have I been so blind to the greatest ship of this series: K18? They are just so well put together and their moments together make my heart flutter. Just a new found respect for aspects and characters I now have.

Finally, my "ask." For my first ever ask, I want it to be fun. Mr. Meta, alongside Krillin, who would you want to team up with him in a hypothetical scenario/movie/series arc but said partner must be a character that is not from Dragon Ball, but instead any other franchise. For example, my dream team up with Krillin is with the mutant who is the best there is as what he does, but what he does isn't very nice: Wolverine. The reason why: Perhaps some intriguing chemistry between the warrior monk and immortal mutant, the possibility of the two sharing their hardships and find comfort that they are still alive despite the lethal and emotional damage that have been inflicted upon them over the course of their lives. But really, it's mostly because I want to see a short hero team up. Wolverine is 3 in taller than Krillin, but it's not that big of a difference; just give me these two short bad asses kicking butt, working together, and one of them mentioning that being taller is overrated. The what if team up can be with anybody, not just Marvel. What is yours? P.S. I hope my ask let's you know that there are individuals who value your opinions and not just bash them. Here's to enjoying Dragon Ball and saying what comes to our minds, rationally of course.

1. Ah, well, thank you. And welcome. Hopefully, you find your time here enjoyable. 2. Yeah, the hyper-focus on the Saiyans can get a bit old at times. Especially in side media now where even some of the weaker known Saiyans are just elevated to god-tier power with the blink of an eye, and the human characters typically only get involved as jokes or to take on throwaway villains that they realistically are far stronger than now. But I’m happy if any of my posts have helped you appreciate these characters more. :) 3. If I absolutely had to choose: Probably Peter Parker. Those two are a lot more alike than people realize, and seeing that come into play and seeing them interact would be interesting. But it’s not really something I’ve given too much thought, tbh. Again, thanks for the kind words.

I found another Chestnut Street (this time in brown and not green) to honor the daughter of Earth's Strongest Human. I know, not original. But I promise to keep a lookout for a Marron specific street/avenue/road/etc.

Maybe I'll have better luck in France.

Sidenote: I find a lot of Chestnut Streets where I live. I always feel like I'm in a scavenger hunt looking for Chestnut or 18th streets in my home state of . . .

Older Marron protecting her parents' love = Best Daughter

As much as young Marron is a staple of Krillin's lovely family, I believe Older Marron is an under-utilized version of her that can produce incredible Chestnut Family tales, fan and official wise. The Super Manga gave us a taste of that, but let's hope it doesn't stop there.

Marrons friends expect her to be mortified, but she's d'awwing like crazy and super happy to see her parents get to experience this, and even films them when they finally get to dance and her friends are just confused as hell and she's all "stfu my mom and daddy are precious"

So short, but wow does this idea exudes layers of sweetness and K18 awesomeness. There needs to be more Post DBZ fan-material about the cast living their lives with no more villains on the horizon, just sayin.

Marron is older, in school, and has Prom. Her parents agree to chaperone, but Krillin insists on going the extra mile, buying his wife a corsage, and asking her to go with him since neither of them ever got to experience it. At least, so long as she "doesn't mind going with some old man".

Wholesome Showdown! LET'S GO, respectfully please.

Get ready for a long one everybody. (Disclaimer: There's still so much I don't know about. I'm still a newbie fan to the upcoming franchises I will be discussing, so please correct me if I'm mistaken. Thank you.)

Over the past year of 2023, my tastes in media and stuff have shifted significantly. Part of that includes finding a new favorite series of mine and rediscovering two films that I think is close to being a perfect duology (Soon to be a trilogy next year): Ah! (or Oh!) My Goddess and The Paddington Franchise.

These stories always lift my spirit up, and that is in thanks (not entirely, as there are many more reasons to enjoy these tales than just what I'm bringing up) to the main characters of these 2 series: The Goddess Belldandy and Paddington Brown. They always bright up scenes whenever they appear, to the point you feel a smidge bummed out when you don't see them anymore. These two individuals just personify every single positive adjective in existence, which had me come up with an intriguing comparison.

As I continued to discover the extent to how much of a well behaved, friendly, warming aura, infectious smiling, do-gooder of a person Belldandy is, I kept wondering in the back of my mind if there was anyone else in not just manga/anime, but in all of the fiction I know that could even match half of Belldandy's politeness. I'm sure there are several more that I am currently unaware of, but the immediate rival that came to mind was the one and only Paddington the Bear. After a watch of both his films and researching his legacy, the bear of Darkest Peru just radiates the same level of comfort and warmth that Belldandy does. I mean just think about it with their similarities:

Both are polite, well-meaning individuals

They treat everyone they meet with an equal chance of respect and trust

Love animals

Never attempt to harm anyone or have malicious motives

Oblivious to the ill intentions of others most of the time

Open to new experiences/activities

Have an antagonist that wants them gone (Sayoko and Mr. Curry)

Form a face of anger and determination whenever the situation calls for it, but never to inflict it from out of nowhere

Inhumanly Honest

And originating from literature

There are differences to be sure, but you see my point; they're just a couple of goody two shoes that I hope to be even 10% as kind as they are in my own life. I bet $200 that if these two ever met, they would become instant BFFs in a snap. Having said all that, I now lead my character examinations to all you by asking this: Who is the more wholesome character? Who do you believe to be the nicest, friendliest, most caring individual out of these two rays of sunshine, based on what I've explained so far and your knowledge of both contestants?

This video encompasses a majority of the Ah! My Goddess franchise in a down to earth, streamlined, but informative explanation that I think works to get new fans up to speed, or at least convince someone to give this series a chance. And Youtuber Sandy_Shark's reason for getting into this series was a cool use of Pathos. Finally, the Schaffrillas family mention at the end was a beautiful touch. Go watch this and see if Ah! My Goddess could be your cup of tea.

I've been vocal of loving IncognitoMan1-2-3-4's 3rd chapter in their A Perfect Love fanfic, but that doesn't mean it's their only work I favor. Chapter 2 (Arm Wrestle) is my 2nd favorite. As much as I love the angst and emotional conflict in the next chapter (which still ranks top for presenting closure of that dreaded opening scene of DBS history), the overwhelming sweetness and family dynamic of K18 and their little bundle of joy just . . . Just . . .

Ah, I got a toothache! That's how sweet this story is. Read yourself a cozy and heart-warming K18 fanfic, just in time for Christmas.

Arm Wrestle

A/N: Hello there! First of all, it’s been so awesome to see all the K18 love throughout this year’s amazing Chestnut Fest with all the great fan art and one-shots of their relationship together! I hope that my submission will do this couple the justice they deserve. I’ll admit, this entry is a little long. But I suppose you can never have too much K18, especially on K18 Day :)

“AHH! I can’t believe you beat me again!” Eighteen bellowed with a theatrical tone in her voice. Marron couldn’t contain the joyous excitement within her as she victoriously punched the air. Her exhilarated delight swiftly spread onto her mother in the form of a soft smile.

“Let’s play again, Mommy!” Marron requested, eagerly bouncing on the spot. Eighteen didn’t take much convincing, replying in an instant,

“Alright! But this is seriously the last time, okay?”

Marron rapidly bobbed her head to her mother’s concession. Mostly because this was the fifth “last time” Eighteen had stated in a row, paired with the fact that they had been playing this game almost non-stop throughout the afternoon heading into the evening.
