carefully does he place his hand upon his dear friend's shoulder, a smile tugging at his lips as he lets lose a gentle laugh. "happy birthday, jumin. i hope you do take some time for yourself..!"

                           it was almost electrifying, the TOUCH against his shoulder out of pure surprise almost as if he had forgotten the OCCASION and had just moved from one daily task to another.      a static reminder that the day was meant to be spent LAVISHED by friends and family      –     a break from work and the bustle of the real world and here he stood with eyes glued to black and white letters before his attention was pulled BACK to realities that greeted him. pleasant smiles shone from familiar faces, COMFORT that reflected off turquoise hues he would know too well all but pushed the air from his chest with the edge of his lip curled in charming smile.     he spoke with sincerity, limits HIDDEN by him with trust outstretched further than arm’s length.     ( if only he knew the same level of trust. )

                        benign chuckles to CURL from his lips as he let his arm fall to the side of his body, a gaze cast at his friend fuelled by mirth as petit smile only grew in size.     it WAS his birthday after all. to let his strings untangle just for ONE day wouldn’t hurt a fly     ( besides, assistant kang would be on standby. )     he could only NOD out his agreement at the statement, eyes flickering down to his watch, taking into deep consideration what TIME it was     –     how early they could start and how late they could finish without too many consequences.  ❛  “some time for yourself”     …      UNLIKELY but doable. and we can start that by going out. my treat, of course. unless, you wish to treat ME. after all, it is my birthday.  ❜
