. hiatus update .

hey everyone holy shit so. finals are over but a whole heckload of other shit has happened in the past couple weeks. below the cut because i’m. it’s a lot lmfao

so for the month of april i had been staying in my old roommates’ sister karen’s condo, because she was stuck with a broken leg in florida with their other sister, sheila, for months in physical therapy - she has osteoporosis so recovery is molasses-slow at Best. so i had been staying there and working with my grandpa to find an apartment because i’m a student with None Credit so i need him as a cosigner, and it was taking longer than i had hoped. last sunday, sheila forced karen’s roommate & caretaker izzy to wake me up and put me on the phone so that she could yell at me to get out within the week (i’d never met or spoken to her before lmfao). of course, this is the week before finals. gpa and i are working on an app but move in wouldn’t be for another two weeks (i’m officially moving into that place tomorrow). on wednesday, izzy tells me that sheila said that she would call the sheriff and have me physically removed from the condo if i was still present when they arrived with karen. so for the past week i’ve been living in a weekly rent studio and trying to finish finals and Be a Person and just. i’m so stressed. the internet here has been broken for 3 days and nobody can fix it. i just want to rest.

so tl;dr - i had hoped to be back in action by now but things might not settle until june???? rip me

. semi - hiatus .

heyyy, everyone! friendly neighborhood admin ashton, here.

i’m coming up on finals and i’m... woefully fucking behind on essays and presentations that need to get done, so for the most part, i’m going to try and step back from writing here until school is out. i have a few pre-existing threads that i’ll try to update if i have the energy, but i won’t be starting anything new until the semester is over ♥

the silence is both uncomfortable and not. he knows these thoughts are just dead branches that will never bear fruit; there’s no sense standing underneath with a hungry mouth waiting for them to flower. still, there’s a part of him that remains - maybe foolishly - idealistic, that believes there might be a way out, to reverse the damage that’s been done, a bright tear in the darkness for them to climb through and escape.

maybe that’s childish. that wouldn’t surprise him - he’s often childish.

steam rises, heavy, from the bath, and he rests the empty bucket against the lip of the tub for a moment in the quiet. “maybe just a few more pails from the tap,” he suggests, but his faraway tone makes it clear that his mind is on other things.
