What does "gathered to his people" mean? Does it speak of life after death?

(via Genesis 49:27 – Part 19 – THE ALPHA AND OMEGA  )
The Alfa wolf uttered a deep, gutteral growl as it selected its prey. Its attention was distracted momentarily as it spotted the shepherd, and its ears were alert to the slightest sound. It growled again so softly that it was not heard, and moved forward silently with rapid padded steps.

(via Genesis 49:26 – Part 18 – PRINCE OF PEACE )
Joseph is described as a PRINCE among his brothers.
In Hebrew, the word for prince is נָזִיר nazir. It means “one who is consecrated” or “one who is set apart”. K.A. Mathews says of Joseph that “He who was once separated from his brothers through spite is now separated from his brothers by blessing.”
I can’t help but see that Joseph and Jesus share being “set apart”. I think there are some fairly obvious comparisons…

Joseph’s Coat and Jesus Cross © Created by Ross Cochrane on NightCafe AI and edited on PaintDotNet ©In Genesis 49, Jacob is dying. His words will prove to be both a final goodbye and a prophetic insight into the lives of his 12 sons and the nation of Israel.   May these blessings rest on the head of Joseph, who is a PRINCE AMONG HIS BROTHERS.  PRINCE   Joseph is described as a PRINCE among…

My Gouache Painting of a Welcome Swallow
This small bird with a long, forked tail is a Welcome Swallow, common in Australia. Some live near us. They often nest in the eaves of buildings, as they do in the house across the road from us. They build mud nests, often re-used year after year. Apparently they line their nests with feathers and soft materials and lay 3–5 white, speckled eggs. They are known for their agile fast flight in…

God writes love stories but so often we try to write our own chapters and do some creative adjustments to the story line.

(via Genesis 49:23-24 – Part 15 - THE ROCK OF MY SALVATION )
I love the song co-written by Cody Carnes, Chandler Moore, and Austin Davis called "Firm Foundation (He Won't)," which includes the lyrics...
“Christ is my firm foundation, the rock on which I stand.” When everything around us is shaken we can be confident that He will never fail us. It goes on to say that we are not held by our own strength, but by building our lives on Jesus. It expresses that when the rain comes and the wind blows that when our house is built on the Lord Jesus Christ, we are safe in Him.

(via Genesis 49:23-24 – Part 14 - THE SHEPHERD )
Jacob prophesies that Joseph will be strengthened by the hands of “the mighty God of Jacob” and then describes God as “The Shepherd”. This is the first time God is called THE SHEPHERD in the Bible. What does this mean?

(via Silver Fox Painting 2)
About a week ago I posted a watercolour and gouache painting of a Silver fox. This is another version done in thick gouache. Much quicker and more spontaneous.
