This seems to make sense. I noticed a lot of people seem to enjoy content they can feel involved with or related to, so posts that feel directed towards the audience or keep them updated would likely get lots of attention and engagement.
what conclusions do you think you can draw about content strategy? how does the data you're collecting connect to those conclusions?
I believe that raw, relatable content receives higher amounts of views in comparison to a prim, and proper video. I chose three beauty, fashion, and lifestyle influencers. Their videos range from GRWMs, to vlogs, and fashion content. More people choose to engage with the day in my life vlogs, or GRWMs because they like being including and seeing what the influencer is up to.

Conclusions
Though I am still analyzing my data, so far based on subscriber amount views, and likes, when it comes to YouTube Video Game content, the audience seems to enjoy long videos that are edited down versions of twitch streams. This could be because they are long content that can hold attention, but not overly long like a twitch stream. Most twitch streams can be five hours long, while these videos are at max about 2 hours, and at minimum are about 20 minutes. These videos could perhaps be listened to while working on something else, while shorter ones could be watched on a lunch break.

Graphs
For the data I collected for this project, I believe bar graphs will be the best form of graph to show my content strategy conclusions. I may need to use several sets in order to compare different data points, such as one for likes, and one for views. I am still trying to put together graphs and am debating on whether using averages or raw data will best help reach a proper conclusion.

Thursday Check In
As I begin to put my data into graphs to build my point, I had a few questions to ensure success. The first question is: What program is best used to create graphs? Currently I am using Google Sheets, as that is where I've recorded my data, but sometimes I find you have to re-set up data in a different way in order for the graphs to read right. I also considered possibly creating them by hand, but that seems like it would end up tedious. My second question is whether a bar graph is a good way to display the data collected in this project. I feel as if it easily shows the data I am collecting and will help me easily refer back to my data to answer my research question, but I wanted a second opinion.

What is Content Strategy?
From my understanding, after collecting data, content strategy is a strategy one uses to approach content creation, managing, and sharing. This could include a number of things such as strategically using a certain image in your posts, or using certain words in your web writing to draw in a certain audience. There are many different factors in content strategy, and not everyone will use the same strategy. Each person may have a different strategy that works for them.

Determining Meaningful Data
To determine meaningful data, I'm looking at what data can help answer or help me gain insight on my research question. I'm looking at what data can show engagement and enjoyment of a video, and shows me how successful the video was with the audience.

Meaningful Data
There's a few bits of meaningful data to watch and record in order to answer my research question. Likes are the most obvious, its the easiest way to see if people enjoyed the video enough to engage with it. Comments are also important, just seeing how often the audience comments or interacts. Views are also very important data, as it shows if the video caught the audience's attention enough for them to click on it, which can help show if a title or thumbnail was catchy.

How will my Research Question will help me collect data
I think my research question will help me collect data as I know what I should be focusing on as I collect data. I know I want to see what parts of content may affect engagement, so because of that I will vary what videos I collect data for more, and therefor will have more varied data as well. I will also hopefully gain an understanding of what causes variety in the data.

Thursday Check In
My Research question is "What parts of a video will help create the most engagement?" I will be focusing on different factors of the content the creators I am looking at make. Some of these factors are:
Is the video scripted or not.
Thumnails
Video Length
Subject of the video
Titles
I essentially want to see if these factors can help create more likes, comments, view time, ect.
I was wondering if there is a way to help narrow down the question or make it seem less broad? A better way to ask it essentially.

I do like the description of us using Tumblr to grow and connect. I feel like this is a very good understanding of who we are at an audience of Tumblr, especially within our class.
original content
user experience analysis - who are we as users of tumblr? Practice your context/space analysis skills by providing details you've gleaned about your use of a social media space through your use of Tumblr for class
As users of Tumblr we are students that share ideas and thoughts on a single platform as a way to connect. We are creators of our own content but also an audience to our other classmates as we respond to other posts. We seek information and inspiration from others in this community, while also providing that from others. In general we use Tumblr as a space to connect and grow as students in this class.

I think choosing creators who have different lengths of video is a great idea! It鈥檚 good to see if longer or shorter videos have more attention.
Original Content Writing 1/3
I am narrowing my account choices by using three accounts that have different approaches of creating videos that post about everything NFL related. Each of the creators post at different times throughout the week with some of these creators making 15-20 minute long videos while some of them create 30 minute to hour long videos with a schedule of one video every one to two weeks.

We as an audience on Tumblr for this class tend to be a group of college students, which yes may sound obvious, but in particular I鈥檝e noticed we enjoy interacting with posts we can relate to. Whether it鈥檚 about classes, the general college experience, or the projects we are doing, we enjoy seeing similar experiences in our college career and enjoy giving no each other feedback and helping one another out.

The data analysis project from week 4 helped me learn a good amount about data analysis. I feel as if I got a better understanding of how to look at data, specifically looking at patterns in what sort of web writing gets the most engagement, and what shared patterns those posts or writings receive. I feel like this knowledge is something I could certainly used to my advantage in my career and in this class.

Thursday Check In
Hello! I was wondering when choosing content creators or accounts for the data we will be looking at for this project, do you think its best to chose creators all on the same platform, or maybe have one from each? Would studying data from different platforms aid the data or muddy it up? @npfannen

Narrowing Down Account Choices
When it comes to the accounts I'm choosing for the research project, I am looking at accounts or content creators I am somewhat familiar with. I admittedly do not know many Youtubers or Tiktokers, but I feel like using one a vaguely know or watch the content of will help me better retain my energy to research the data. I know there is the concern of us burning ourselves out on a content creator we enjoy by researching them, but I struggle to work on things if they do not catch my interest. I'll feel like I'm forcing myself to work. I hope using a content creator I know's account will help me retain motivation for this project.

Personally, I do value clear information presented in a down to earth way. Nothing bothers me more in a class than trying to dig through several tabs, or large, lengthy blocks of texts just to find my goal for an assignment.
Original Content Peer Review Request - Week 5 (2/3)
In my analysis, I state what the audience of the Millersville English & World Languages Department values pertaining to ways information is presented to them. What I need to know is if, as students, you value this...
Clear information presented in a leisurely, down-to-earth way.
Do students prefer getting information with this type of language, or is this incorrect and there is a different way?
All feedback is welcome!

I believe that your way of describing "heartfelt" gets the point across well. If you are looking to add anything, i think you could possibly add that it can create an emotional reaction in the audience, both good and bad.
Original Content Peer Review Request - Week 5 (1/3)
A major part of my analysis has to do with the understanding that "heartfelt" posts stand out as a way to get heavy traffic and interaction on social media posts. What I need help with is advice on if this is a clear, understandable, and accurate way of defining the word "heartfelt" to students pertaining to social media posts...
What this means to the students is a post that uses language that conveys a sense of thankfulness or appreciation, or possibly even relatability.
All feedback is welcome!
