tarte tatin had always been a loner, really
usually that wouldn’t be a problem, but fortune didn’t seem to favor her right now. who was she supposed to pair up with? the adventurers she’d usually hang around had already grouped up with each other. hollyberry was stuck with wildberry (though, really, what are the chances she would’ve chosen him anyway?)
royal margarine was…a nice kid. they didn’t seem to clash together too well, though. a dragon hunter and a dragon rider? that would simply not work
luckily, she didn’t have to choose. soon enough, hollyberry had approached her, a small cookie hiding behind her, hands clutched tightly in her dress.
“I have a huge favor to ask of you,” hollyberry started, gently prying the little cookie’s hands free and stepping aside so tarte tatin could see. “she one of my grandkids. i trust you to take care of her for me.”
clicking her tongue thoughtfully, tarte tatin crouched down to meet the young cookie eye-to-eye. the face that stared back at her was sharp, ready to spring into action, and yet…
offering a soft smile, tarte tatin held out a hand to her. she startled, glancing back up at hollyberry, before hesitantly reaching her own hand out to meet it.
“what do you think, little adventurer? you wanna partner up with a dragon hunter?”
the little cookie glanced back at hollyberry one more time.
“…friend…?”
“yep!” hollyberry grinned down at her, “she’s a really good friend of mine. you can trust her.”
she looked down at their hands again, seeming to think for a moment. then, with a determined expression, she nodded up at tarte tatin
“she has a tiger, you know.”
“oh, wow! that’s pretty impressive, lil fella.”
she seemed to brighten up at the comment, already rushing off, still holding tarte tatin’s hand, to find her tiger
“good luck, you two! take good care of tiger lily for me,” hollyberry called after them

what's the best pair and the worst pair?
(best as in they work really well together with a great chance of surviving for longer and worst as in they can't get along and have a really high chance of losing the first round because of it)
there’s a lot that do really well together!
the au is occurring in the midst of the beasts’ redemptions, so pure vanilla and shadow milk have doing pretty well. the whole ‘having powers of the gods’ thing helps too
princess and knight cookie are doing well together, and so is pitaya dragon and snapdragon, lotus dragon and hydrangea, ananas dragon and mango, mystic flour and cloud haetae, prune juice and kouign-amann, green mousse tea and choco drizzle…
guys who aren’t doing so well? dark choco and dark cacao are really struggling with communicating. snake fruit is secretly trying to sabotage longan dragon. roguefort tricked almond into pairing up with him and the latter is not taking it well at all
also captain ice and sorbet shark. they get along decently well- captain ice has a soft spot for kids and sorbet shark is friendly towards everyone- but the topic of pirates is a bit of a point of contention between them

a special blog entirely for our cookie run gameshow au
a brief intro to the au:
every cookie is a part of the game (most not entirely willingly…) and they are all sorted into pairs that they must stay in for the entirety of the game. some (ex. first choco, first cream, and first grain) cheat this rule a little. the game is made up of several minigames, all of varying difficulty, each resulting in at least one team being eliminated
you don’t want to know what happens when you’re eliminated
there are no consequences for helping other teams. there are also consequences for hindering other teams
no one knows who runs the game. some thought maybe a witch, dark enchantress cookie…but the first cookies seem insistent that it can’t be a witch and dark enchantress is a part of the game
who will make it to the very end? well, hopefully, they can find a way out of this before we get to that point
questions are appreciated, it’s fun to talk about
