How yan dev is writing the game is like how I use to write my stories that i posted online, instead of planning it out more I thought of more stuff as I went along, changing things with each chapter update and while in some cases writing one chapter at a time and posting it rather than fully working on the story and finishing it then posting it works for the most part it just ends up getting so confusing and jumbled that you're left with a huge mess that makes no sense

YEP.

I’d say that’s the game biggest problem. Not delays, not emails, not coding, but the developer’s inability to just have a solid idea of what he wants.

It used to be a stealth horror game. 

Now there might (keyword: might) be minigames, a small town you can explore, Yakuza, beat-em-up mechanics… there’s a point where you just have to have a straight goal. It’s just overly ambitious that I doubt this game can be finished with all these proposed ideas by 2019.

Not to hijack your post, but I actually did attempt to create an RPG while also writing the story at the same time. I say attempt, because when you’re writing by the seat of your pants without an end goal, it gets confusing really quickly, like the anon said.

This wasn’t just from a storytelling standpoint, either; the game itself quickly became a mess because I had to continue going back to revise things that contradicted the story, or change what I was doing mid-creation, or I’d get a new idea and get sidetracked doing that.

That is honestly my biggest concern with Yandere Simulator; that he hasn’t written a story to go along with the game. I highly doubt it’d be possible for anyone to not only make the game, but create the story to go with it concurrently, especially by oneself. You have to have your goal in mind before you attempt to actually create something, otherwise you just get a jumbled up mess.

I know YanDev is planning to change the game’s name to Lovesick, while keeping Yandere Simulator on as a subtitle, but... why. Why is he selling shirts that just say “Yandere Simulator”.

I will give him credit, he didn’t do what I expected him to do. Which is, to put the heart with panties onto a shirt.
