Public transportation difficulties during the recent Covid 19 pandemic

The recent Covid 19 pandemic stresses on the many of the daily activities and duties. The WHO introduced many of the health warnings and precautionary mechanisms. One such measure was the importance of keeping the minimum social distance between people while working or traveling. This social distance was introduced to prevent the spread of the deadly virus through the personal contacts and droplets. However, this is a new practice to most of the parts in the world and as a result, it has many difficulties to maintain the minimum distance of 1 meter especially in the queues or waiting at the shopping malls. Nevertheless, according to the latest data in Corona Virus Dashboard, it has reported 67,429,418 active cases by May 26,2020. Providing service while keeping the minimum distance is a real challenge to a large crowd. On the other hand, most of the countries were initially locked down to control the situation, but later  these countries were open back to operate the normal life of the people and do the daily routines. 

Providing transportation is an extremely important matter in most of these countries where people have to move to towns and cities for their duties. Especially, according to  the Corona Virus Dashboard it clearly observed a surge of Covid 19 patients in developing countries like India and Brazil. In most of the developing countries , people rely on the public transportation services like trains or buses for daily travels. Keeping the minimum distance in such situations is a real challenge. On the other hand, it is extremely important to monitor the practice to prevent the further spread of the disease. In this regard, various measures are needed to be implemented. As  examples for the good practices that help to keep minimum distance and discipline during the traveling , some government agencies have taken measures to monitor the body temperature, note down the address of the travelers, ask the travelers to sit in a zigzag manner in the public vehicles, wearing face masks and avoid taking baggage, online time booking or ticketing , issuing warrants to the officers who work in the essential service stations can be considered.  These are somewhat difficult to implement every time or everywhere due to the availability of proper resources or according to the number of travelers. However, these steps will safeguard the both travelers and country men.

The online teaching aids are used as teaching methods which are cost effective in comparison to the conventional teaching with the development of the digital infrastructure and the world wide web. The covid pandemic has resulted in more than 2,512,489 active cases. The deaths have reached 86,587 in the USA. The schools and universities were closed with the rising death toll. Therefore, the online teaching helped a lot to students while allowing students to be in their houses. Most of the book publishers and research networks provided subsidized memberships or free accounts as a help to the students.  Therefore, it is important to invest in such digital infrastructure. 

Why is online teaching so attractive? In this regard, a number of benefits have been identified with the use of online delivering modes, among them courses are available to many students and they can refer to it a number of times, low expenditure on operation and management of regular classes, student facilitation on hostels, student centers and lecture halls etc. However, the proper assessment and less number of practical sessions have made the critics and a low recognition of such degrees. However, the combination of online delivering courses and conventional teaching, learning and assessment also have been practiced in the main teaching program of most of the top class universities. However, most of the online teaching platforms like Coursera, Edx have used online teaching, learning assessments to deliver both short courses and degrees of many world class universities. To facilitate the online courses, a web based Learning Management Systems (LMS) is essential. The web pages of such LMS are needed to develop as a user friendly and attractive manner to provide a better service. In this regard, cloud based storage facilities, in built quiz making, real time video tutoring, mobile app support like facilities have been included in most of the recent LMS platforms.  The digital infrastructure like web server, file backup and security of the system and information have been considered to provide this service to the users. Therefore, a system which has all these facilities can help a lot with the students’ learning while keeping the social distance.
