Generation X was a British punk rock band formed in 1976 and is best known as the launching pad for Billy Idol, who would go on to become a major solo star in the 1980s. The band was part of the first wave of UK punk and stood out for their blend of punk energy with a more melodic, pop-oriented sound. Here are some photographs of the band on stage in the 1970s.
