anon: i’ve never really gotten how age-ups are pedophilic *by default* if i’m honest. if you’re attracted to them as they are, then why would you age them up to begin with? i guess if it’s someone’s way of “getting around” wanting to fuck a kid (cos they know they won’t get away with just making sim cp or w/e), like fair enough. but if they’re like 13/14 and you’re just imagining what they’re like when they’ve grown up cos you find aspects of their personality/character interesting/would find them attractive on an adult, i don’t get how it’s bad, esp if they act and look distinctly adult like you said. BUT to be fair i guess i am kinda sex-weird in general, and it might just be a result of trauma (at that age for me, too) that leads to kinda want to see kids growing up into adults that have a healthy relationship with sex and intimacy.

Yeah i definitely see where youre coming from and feel about the same way. the whole “age-ups are inherently pedophilic” argument gets wrongly applied to a lot of overall tasteful art that doesnt cross any lines. I’ve even seen several minors ask if they were being pedophiles by drawing or writing about a character who they created engaging in sex as an adult when they were also depicted as a child at some point. 

It falls under about the same witch hunt as people who get offended when young adults (usually 18-24) are depicted in sexual situations from what i can tell. People getting scared about the idea of pedophiles in their community to the point they get fixated on pointing them out but end up being way too overeager. I’ve been there, we’ve all been there.

honestly (and this is controversial as all fuck ik) i dont mind age-ups when done well. if the “aged up” character still appears or acts childlike i have a problem but like... a well-done age-up is something i dont have a problem with especially if the character being aged up is 16+.

a lot of the (tastefully designed) age-ups i’ve seen are very interesting to look at and visibly adult, with an element of exploring the possible future of the character in question.

like for all of you that dont know DFAB people who have been on testosterone often have VISIBLY different genitalia than non-intersex DFAB people who have not had HRT. Also transmasculine folk can have genitalia that doesnt WORK like a cis womans normally would regardless of whether or not theyre on HRT (such as myself). They did not bite you, threaten to rape you, or insult you in anyway. At least not intentionally.

I’m gonna throw in the Invader Zim fandom-
