Four things give me hope that Delphine may still be alive:
Helena seemed as good as dead by the end of 1x10 from a very deadly gunshot wound. Tatiana and the writers both confirmed her death and continued the charade for over a year until the beginning of season two.
Delphine was shot, but still very much alive, when the show cut to black. Also, she wasn’t shot in the heart or head, but somewhere not automatically equating to death.
This is a continuation of point one, the writers very casually say getting rid of Delphine was an event that stemmed from wanting something new and exciting with Cosima/Shay. The nonchalant attitude they have about the entire scenario doesn’t sit right with me. I would like to give them a little more credit than that, and hope they don’t disappoint.
The lack of closure between Cosima and Delphine. If that was truly Delphine’s final involvement, it’s more than a little insulting that what we get is Delphine giving Shay her blessing, stealing a quick kiss from Cosima with very little dialogue exchange, and then merely accepting her demise. Based off of what we’ve seen so far on the show, it doesn’t make sense. It’s completely out of character, Delphine would not just willingly walk to her death while not knowing what may become of her love. Even if Delphine is alive come season four, that will always remain out of character.
