I love coquette dragoon. I really look up to your writing and art direction. If you have any advice on creating art and narratives I’d love to hear!

i think a lot of what i do is trial and error... i guess my biggest advice is to treat writing like sketching. i learnt everything i know from just writing drafts 1000x since teenhood... i have 100x more writing that has gone unpublished than what i actually put out. you can only learn by doing so you have to just do it even if it sucks at first

my more granular and subjective writing advice is...

lore and mysteries don't matter, watching people theorycraft creates the temptation but withholding info just for the sake of breadcrumbing is boring

when concepting, try and think of something you can enjoy making every part of... don't do a long slowburn of stuff you find boring to write before it gets to 'the good shit'. give yourself and the reader a strong hook

readers can sense when you are scared of making a character unlikable and enjoy it when you shock them by making them do something awful

copy and steal everything you can... everything i learnt about art direction i got from old films
