Chinese Moccasin/ Deinagkistrodon Acutus is a holly symbol in the culture of Paiwan (one of the Taiwanese indigenous peoples). Paiwan people use unique tattoos to represent their social status, it is a vanishing tradition in the modern age. The pattern I drew is referenced from Paiwan Tattooist Cudjuy Patjidres who dedicates to promoting this beautiful culture. The First Letter

Hi, Adam.

I’ll be dead when you are reading this letter. Cool, right?

We haven’t talked to each other for a long time, and it’s so hard to tell face to face. So, I guessed, maybe we could make it when I am gone.

I planned a small trip for you, to help you to understand me a little bit, perhaps. I wish you could do it for me. It will be the last time, I promise.

Tell Clara I love her.

I’m sorry. Very, very much. But I just can’t bear it anymore.

I’m sorry.

The first stop for you is Blackfriars Bridge, where I used to take a walk. There is a tale about a suicidal ghost: a woman in black kept jumping from the bridge in the morning. I wished I could meet her every time when I walked there, maybe she is waiting for someone to stop her, just like me.

I folded the letter and put it back to my pocket. Clara would kill him if she read it, but she will never have the chance. Nor will I.

I looked at the bridge. The wind blew away the morning mist, made everything coldly clear. It was a pale and lonely morning. Only a few cars passed by, no other passengers, except a girl who had just climbed on to the wall of the bridge…

嗨，亞當。

當你讀到這封信時我已經死了。酷斃了，對吧？

我們已經很久沒好好聊一聊了，而有些話真的很難當面講出來。所��我猜啦、也許等我不在時我們反而能把話講開。

我為你規劃了一個小旅行，或許透過這趟旅行能讓你多了解我一點點。我希望你可以為我完成它。我保證這會是最後一次。

告訴克拉拉我愛她。

我很抱歉，非常、非常抱歉。但我真的再也無法忍受了。

對不起。

你的第一個景點是黑衣修士橋，以前我經常在那散步。那座橋上流傳著一個鬼故事：傳說一個穿著黑衣的女人會在清晨時不斷跳橋自殺。每次我散步經過那裡時總會期待能遇到她，也許她一直等待著誰來阻止她，就跟我一樣。

我將信折好放回口袋。克拉拉如果讀到這封信一定會殺了他，只可惜她永遠沒機會這麼做了。而我也是。

我向橋上看去，冷風吹散了晨霧，讓周圍的景色顯得異常清晰。這是個蒼白且寂寞的早晨，僅有幾輛車經過橋上而不見其他路人、除了一個剛剛爬上橋邊外牆的女孩以外……

‘He left these letters to you.’

Clara handed three letters to me. The letters were sealed. There were numbers on the envelopes, it seemed like I should read them in order.

‘When you finish… could you tell me what are they about?’

I looked into her eyes, the grief inside her almost knocked this woman down. It shamed me because I could not feel the same as she did. I was shocked and sad, but not grieved.

‘I’ll be back,’ I promised Clara. ‘I’ll tell you what he wrote in these letters.’

「他留了這些信給你。」

克拉拉交給我三封信。信封口都封死了，上面還寫著數字，看似要我照著順序閱讀它們。

「等你讀完後……可以告訴我裡面的內容嗎？」

我看入克拉拉的雙眸，那深埋其中的哀慟幾乎要將這個女人擊��。那令我覺得內疚，因為我無法產生和她相同的感覺——我感到驚訝且難過，但我並不覺得悲痛。

「我會再來的，」我答應克拉拉。「我會告訴妳他在信上寫了些什麼。」

My brother Brian committed suicide.

‘He ended himself by drugs. He took all his sleeping pills with whiskey.’ His girlfriend Clara, who found his body, told me the tragedy.

我弟弟布萊恩自殺了

「他是吞藥自殺的，他對著威士忌一口氣吞了所有安眠藥。」我弟弟的女友克拉拉告訴我這則悲劇，是她發現了他的遺體。
