el was raised in a lab, tortured physically, emotionally, and psychologically in a way so inhumane that it's hard to even think ab. she was treated as a lab rat from birth. SHE WAS REFERRED TO AS A NUMBER. THEY LITERALLY USED A CATTLE PROD ON HER AS A TODDLER. THEY SHAVED HER HEAD AND PITTED ALL THE NUMBERS AGAINST EACH OTHER TO FIGHT FOR THE LOVE OF "PAPA". and that's all the stuff we've seen. she has canonically pushed traumatic memories down to the point that she doesn't remember them. i can't watch the flashbacks in s1 without getting ill. the scene where she cries for brenner as she gets lifted away and locked in a pitch black room for who knows how long... it's sickening to watch. no one has suffered more than her, and all she wants from her life is to live as a normal girl. she wants the life she never had. she loves so big that she would give all that up in an instant to save her friends. SHE IS NOT DYING. and if she does. i will probably be arrested for the things i will do.

guys. guys nancy used to be paired with jonathan, a LOVE INTEREST, on journalistic/investigative trips but now she’s being paired with ROBIN for all of those (season 4, the upcoming book centered around them investigating something) it’s RONANCE PROOF IT’S PROOF IT’S— *i get dragged off stage*

ideal living situation is what i call the 'sitcom special' : having all your closest friends live in the same apartment building or neighborhood where you each have your own space but can wander in and out of eachothers homes at will, seemingly always welcome and never at bad times. and also all of you only have jobs when its important to the plot.

I’m thinking about Nancy Wheeler sitting so close to Robin in, like, EVERY opportunity that’s presented to her. We already have two separate instances of her invading Robin’s personal space in s5 and the season isn’t even OUT yet.

And my ronance brain is saying Nancy is 100% the girl that sits on her girl friend’s lap because “there’s not enough chairs!!” instead of sitting on the floor like everyone else did. She says she’s cold and Steve offers her his jacket but she’s already crawling inside Robin’s sweatshirt—while she’s still wearing it. Girly’s love language isn’t just physical touch, she’s actively trying to will her atoms to slot into robin’s like a puzzle. Stage five clinger, seriously.

The first time Nancy gets really drunk around Robin, Robin’s immediately like ‘oh shit’ bc obviously she’s heard from Steve what happened at the Halloween party. And she’s always kinda had this little seed of doubt in her head that Nancy ACTUALLY hates her and is just forcing herself to be nice to her (incorrect), so she’s convinced all of Nancy’s ‘true’ feelings about her are about to come to light.

So when Nancy turns to her, face all serious, Robin’s heart all but falls out her ass. But Nancy just ever-so gently places her hands on either side of Robin’s face and says “you’re way too pretty for steve.” and immediately bursts into tears. It takes Robin coming out to her to reassure her that she is NOT and NEVER WILL BE dating Steve, and only then does she finally calm down.

Robin thinks about it at least twice a day for the next three months.

Steve, who was sitting next to them, does as well, but because he’s incredibly insulted.

some of you think ‘nuanced’ only means ‘morally grey’ and I’m here to tell you that actually straight up good characters can still be nuanced and unapologetically evil characters can still be nuanced. the character doesn’t have to be an anti hero or morally dubious to have depth. they don’t even have to feel sorry about their crimes to have depth.

i genuinely don't think i'll ever be over robin's coming out scene in stranger things, specifically the way robin says "steve..." and the way steve just goes "oh."

robin saying steve's name sort of fond, sort of exasperated, sort of knowing, and steve saying "oh" in the softest, kindest voice. robin almost holding her breath as she waits for steve's reaction, because as much as she's teased and made fun of him, it is so obvious how much the two of them care about each other.

and you can literally see the gears in steve's head turning as his feelings towards robin change from romantic to Platonic with a Capital P Soulmate, there is not even a question in steve's heart that robin is anything other than his best friend and someone he wants to have in his life forever, it's just that the feelings have shifted.

i just love stobin so insanely much, they are the Platonic soulmates ever, and if either of them dies in the finale i willa ctually never recover.
