First goals came from..

Good stuff all around.. will post to Hudl as soon as we can. If you don’t have Hudl setup.. get with us Monday during team meetings. You will need a valid email address.

Preseason Schedule set:
We will be competing in a few games before the regular season begins on November 8th at home vs North Pontotoc and those game times have been set!
The Scrimmage Weekend, October 27, we will host first year program, Shannon who is eager to play and take steps towards building a soccer program there. After cancellations with a Desoto County team, we were happy to ask them up to come and play after they reached out looking for games. The girls will kickoff at 2:30 PM and the boys shortly after the girls game, sometime around 4:00 PM. Times are pushed back from the morning to accommodate the ACT.
The Classic Weekend, November 3rd, we will be traveling to New Hope to play in their big competition. They invited us down and gave us the chance to play some teams we don’t normally see. We were given MSMS and IAHS:
The girls will kickoff against MSMS at 10:00 AM, and the boys will immediately follow at 11:00!
The boys will lead the way in the 2nd match of the day against Itawamba Agricultural HS at 1:00 and the girls to follow at 2:00 PM.
Our final tune up will be our Annual Red vs Black Scrimmages on November 6. The girls will compete at 5:00 and the boys at 6:00!
Mark your calendars and come support our Warriors in the preseason as our program looks to build on the success of last year.

25/50 Challenge.. What is it?
As a coaching staff, we are giving you the month of July to be a kid, have some fun, enjoy the summer before we get started.
This means.. downtime! We agree.. it’s very important!
HOWEVER!
The 25:
We are challenging you to submit a video to our soccer account (@soccerCorinth) of you juggling 25 consecutive times.
“I can’t do that!” You’re right.. you can’t and you never will with that attitude! But you can, the reason why you can’t is because you never try! What if you tried every day for 10 minutes to get better at it? I promise you.. it will pay off for you!
“I can do way more than 25!” Cool! Submit a video of you getting as many as you can!! We’ll do something cool for the person (boy and girl) with the most!
The 50:
We are also challenging you to run 50 miles in the month of July! 31 days! Very easily done! Just keep a a log, find a way to document that you have done this, get your parents to sign that you have actually done it, take a picture of your log, and submit it to us.
Think about the shape you will be in if you ran 50 miles this month as opposed to not running 50 miles this month. When we start conditioning in August, it will be very clear who did and who didn’t!
We are really gonna find out a lot about the people that make up our program through this challenge! Are you up to it? Do you wanna do more next season than you did last season? Invest in yourself and invest in our program!
The Red Card Club will reward you with something very cool for completing the challenge. Really want to see you get out and do it! Go for it! Why not?
Good luck! The challenge starts July 1!!

Summer Ends with Two Wins:
What a great way to end the summer with two big wins today over Division rival, Tish County.
The girls got it going in the heat to start us off with a 9-0 win! Goals started coming in quick and they get hard to keep track of, especially all the assists! Haven’t watched the film yet, but I’ll get all the stats out soon!
Goal scorers today:
Sarah Bickert
Sarah Kate Burns
Caroline Grisham
Allison Greene
Caroline Wilbanks (scored 2)
Alexa Snyder
Emma Hall (after a great 1v1 take on by Belle Mitchell)
Lauren Beech (her first in a Corinth shirt)
We had some fun in goal today:
RG (playing in her last ever summer scrimmage 😥) getting it going in the first period
Cheyenne Hendrix who has had a great summer all over the field in the second
Jordan Gates (who made a nice save) in the 3rd period
Sarah Bickert volunteered in the final period, made a good save, and played very well with her feet in possession
Our defense and our midfield did a good job of keeping Tish out, especially closing down some Tish threats late in the game and using possession to work our way out of trouble!
Great job girls and was a good way to end the summer!
The boys finished up with a very commanding and almost complete performance! This boys team has come so far since the first match and has really started to find their groove and identity! Some experience can really do a team good!
The boys won 5-0 with goals coming from:
Milton Perez
Chase Briggs
Andrew Pittman
Christian Sanchez
Tony Benitez
FRZ and Jacob Wilbanks worked to keep it clean with a host of guys playing on the backline helping out!
Can’t say enough about the boys and the progress they have made since the start of the summer!
Both teams finished 4-1 this summer and that’s great news. Now it’s time to rest, enjoy the summer and recharge for the season that will be here before we know it!
Thankful for each of you! Enjoy your July! Watch the World Cup! Do the 25/50 challenge! We’ll see you soon!
🤙🏼☀️⚽️😎

Warriors split with NA in the heat:
The girls endured a frustrating day at the office while the boys ground out a result.
The girls dictated play about 98.9% of the game and had multiple chances to put the game out of reach, just could not capitalize. NA made us pay in the 4th quarter with a breakaway. A 1-0 loss was definitely not indicative of the overall game, but this is why we play summer scrimmages!
Only thing you can do, is learn from the experience and bring your goal scoring shoes to practice on Thursday and let’s get better. Great to see Lizzie Lee and Macy Moore at the match today! Love y’all two!
The boys won 3-2. NA’s varsity boys came out firing on all cylinders and had us down 2-1, going into the half, with Peyton Marshall scored his first goal of the day. Both teams made lots of subs and gave young players a chance to gain some experience. Daniel Benitez converted a penalty after Tomas Esteban was brought down in the box. In the 4th quarter, Peyton Marshall tested NA’s young keeper and he just couldn’t quite keep the ball out of the net after getting hands to the intial shot, to score his second of the day! That ended up the game winner, 3-2! But massive props to Andrew Pittman, who cleared a late equalizer off the line to preserve the win.
Thanks to super dads, Brian Mitchell and Nathan Hall for reffing in the heat today! Very thankful for all you do!
My son, Brooks, made his first appearance at a Corinth Soccer match and got to meet the girls! He had his shades on just like his daddy and it was a great experience introducing him to such important people in my life! Here’s a few pics (thanks Lizzie for taking them)!

2 Wins.. Again!
The girls, once again, got the evening started off with a 3-0 shutout win.. this time, over visiting Pontotoc!
The action got started early with Sarah Bickert hitting a big one from a tight after being slipped in by Jordan Gates and beating one defender. Sarah grabbed another one off of a rebound, after some fine play from Caroline Grisham and Sarah Kate Burns! Lesley Herrera grabbed her first of the summer after a great cross in from the left side, from Jasmine Aguilar!
The great thing about the summer scrimmages is the drive to get everyone into every game.. the experience is more important than the results. Good news is, experience is happening for all of us, learning moments across the board, and wins are coming too!
Cheyenne and Lauren both secured the clean sheet, and our backline and midfield really limited Pontotoc coming into our defensive third! Great job ladies!
The boys grabbed their second win in a row as well, while as getting everyone involved in the match and finding some success! The 3-2 win was a good one and a chance to continue to move forward! I really think the boys have improved each time they step on the pitch. They grow closer together and understand their roles and how to perform them more each time. Caleb Patterson and Xander Watkins really impressed as outside backs tonight! Both have taken significant steps into being solid options as their experience and opportunities have come. Andrew Pittman and Taylor Eldridge continued to cement their midfield connection/chemistry as well!
Peyton Marshall started the scoring with a free kick that found its way in, and Christian Sanchez and Daniel Benitez scored their first goals in a Corinth shirt!
Still some bumps in the road, but the boys are putting results together as a collective unit, and we are very happy about that!
Girls improved to 3-0 this summer, Boys improve to 2-1! We play again, after a week off from games, on June 26 vs New Albany at 4 and 6 at home! We’ll see you there!

Two wins for the good guys:
It was a very hot afternoon, but despite the temps, both boys and girls teams came out victorious over visiting McNairy Central (TN), a team we only get to play in the summer due to season differences across the state line.
The girls got us started with a 3-0 shutout win! All 3 goals came in the first 15 min quarter. Caroline Grisham scored 2 and Sarah Kate Burns scored a nice one from a tight angle. The girls really did well to dominate and accomplish the task as a collective unit with the need for subs at a premium due to the heat out on the turf!
Cheyenne Hendrix and Lauren Beech combined for the shutout in the goal, with Lauren having to make some critical saves in the 3rd period! All of our backlines did well today keeping McNairy out.
The boys came out 3-1 winners after going down a goal in the 2nd quarter. Some quality halftime adjustments and the boys looked like a completely different group in the second half and came back to get the job done! Chase Briggs scored 1 and Tony Benitez added 2 more!
CJ Isbell really did well commanding the backline and keeping us organized to seal the win! Great job boys!!
We’ll be back in action on Tuesday night vs Pontotoc with the girls starting at 4 and boys roughly around 6!
Enjoy your weekends! #SummerWarriors

Boys Take First Steps Together:
Anytime you lose 10 seniors the season before, you always wonder how hard it will be to take the first step next season. The boys today did just that. A valuable one as well.
Gaining experience is always gonna be the key with a young group! We took this step together today!
The boys went down early, and battled back to tie it up with a great free kick from Chase Briggs in the second half. Ripley boys scored 2 quick ones to make it 3-1 and Joel Parker added a late consolation goal after another quality strike from a dead ball from Chase Briggs.
The boys will pick up the pieces and look to take the next step again on Saturday!

Summer Scrimmages Open Up against Ripley:
The girls got off to a flying start today and this summer with a 7-0 win over division opponents, Ripley!
It was good to get out and face some opposition from another town and really just get a measure for where we were! The focus of today was to answer the question, “what can WE do?” We tried our hardest to sub 30 girls into a 60 minute scrimmage and allow opportunities for each girl to thrive and do well. Really loved how we answered that question, with the older girls making it happen early and supporting the younger girls later in the match!
We won 7-0, with goals coming from:
Sarah Bickert
Caroline Grisham
Caroline Wilbanks
Allison Greene
Mary Grace Porter (her first in a Corinth shirt)
Greenely Moss (also her first)
Jasmine Aguilar
Quite a few assists were rewarded, but I’ll have to watch them on the tape! Can’t wait to see it more. I know that we played some very unselfish soccer today and looked good in our new tanks while doing it.
RG Carpenter, Cheyenne Hendrix and Lauren Beech all did well to keep a clean sheet! A whole slew of players worked hard defensively to avoid scoring chances.
Was really impressed with our defensive center mid play with Jordan Gates, Mikayla Smith, Alden Tomlinson, and Caroline Grisham all doing well to dictate the game like we have worked on in our session yesterday! Jasmine Aguilar even scored from a great midfield run and a phenomenal slip pass from Sarah Kate Burns, from the position!
Cheyenne Hendrix, Greenely Moss, Rachel Williams, and Karime Leon all made their first appearances for the program today and impressed! Excited about what each brings to the plate and what they have to offer going forward!
Really glad to welcome back Sarah Kate Burns and Allison Greene who both made significant impacts in today’s scrimmage!
Enjoy a day off tomorrow girls and here’s a few pics from today (team pic, 1st goals, and a “welcome back” pic)!

Macy Moore - No Stranger to Success:
It’s for things just as this that we have created this Tumblr account. As coaches, teachers, and mentors, we are blessed to have the opportunities to work with incredible kids as they come through our program and school system. We get to watch them mature into successful young adults as they venture off into bigger and better things. Macy Moore is a primary example. What a privilege it’s been to have her in our program the last 5 years. We’re all better because of what she has done and pushed us to accomplish over that time. She’s going out a champion too, and we aren’t the only ones taking notice.
Macy has been selected as a 2018 Lindy Callahan Scholar-Athlete Award recipient. She is one of only eight females selected from across the state (16 in total, 8 boys and 8 girls). Each school in the state submits potential recipients, one boy and one girl, and a board of MHSAA partners and administrators makes the selections. Macy’s application and letters of recommendation spoke for themselves and she was selected as a winner! Each recipient is awarded a $1,500 scholarship and is recognized at a banquet in Jackson. This year’s banquet will be on April 16, next Monday. The MHSAA holds this event in such high regard, that they livestream on the NFHS Mississippi channel.
This is the 23rd year that this program has worked to celebrate the extremely difficult task of balancing extracurricular activities and extremely high academic values. Since its beginning, only four other students from Corinth High School have been awarded this great honor. Macy joins this prestigious list:
1996 - Emily Perry
2008 - Luke McCullen
2010 - Evan Blair
2011 - Allie Winters
2018 - Macy Moore
When asked about it, Macy stated, “It’s never been easy juggling a busy sports schedule while maintaining my academics and school work. It’s so humbling to see all of my hard work paying off, and it is such an honor to be recognized as a Lindy Callahan Scholar-Athlete!”
What an incredible accomplishment! Macy is a two-sport athlete (cross country and soccer), is a CHS cheerleader, and is currently ranked number 1 in her graduating class with a 4.3 GPA, will graduate with an AICE Cambridge Diploma, has a 31 on her ACT and countless other accolades. Macy plans on graduating and going to Mississippi State University, majoring in Biomedical Engineering, and working in the medical field. Macy is also a state championship XC runner, a 2 year captain on the soccer field, 2 year All Division Award winner, and just an all around quality human being.
“Macy embodies what it means to be a student athlete. I’ve never been more impressed with anyone’s ability to have such a positive impact on all that she is involved in like Macy has done in her time at Corinth High School. She is not replaceable on our soccer team and it will take the work of many girls to lead in the way that she did for us. No one will be able to just walk in and take her place. She has left such an incredible impact on all of us and set the ultimate example of how it should be done. The most impressive thing about her is who she is as a person. That’s the true test of our program, what kind of people we are producing. Macy is one of the best persons to ever grace us!” said Cameron Glenn, her Head Soccer Coach.
She’s made a history of achieving great things and she is no stranger to success. We look forward to hearing about all the greatness that lies ahead for her.
Let’s all take a moment to celebrate this amazing accomplishment by this talented individual. Macy, we are incredibly proud of you and thankful for your sacrifice for our soccer program over the last five years of your life. May God bless you in all that you do!
Your 2018 Region 1 Lindy Callahan Female Scholar-Athlete, Macy Moore:

Daily Journal All Area Recognition:
Really cool that a paper that covers such an extensive region of the state sees how hard we are working in Corinth!!
Congrats again to Sarah Bickert for making the All Area team and it was cool to be selected as the 2017-2018 Girls Coach of the Year.
Sarah and I both recognize that this recognition is not possible without the good people that surround us. Brilliant people willing to put the work in to build something great!
Thank you all! You are what make our program special! ❤️🏆⚽️🤩

Tumblr
Hey guys, hope you are all enjoying your Spring Break. It’s been a very busy one for me personally, but.. in the end.. a very good one!
Just wanted to introduce you to this! We are creating this Tumblr account because we can make much longer posts here and then just tweet the link to our @soccerCorinth account and hopefully it will limit some of the tweeting that we do, and from your perspective, you receive!
Like after a game.. we tweet who scored, Starting XI pics, and other fun stuff! I feel like that with this Tumblr blog, we will be able to put all of that info into ONE post, post it and it will send it over to our Twitter account. This will be much better than 5 tweets, we hope! There is no reason to download Tumblr or anything like that, you should be able to view these posts without it. I think! We will definitely find out! Ha!
In other news, some big things are happening in our program right now and we’ll bring that to you over the next few days! We’re excited to share some good news with you!
Lastly, we recently ran a Twitter poll in regards to a new badge/crest to take us into a new era. Of those that voted, we received an overwhelming response towards one in particular! So we have made this our new badge. We’re excited to use it in the future and I love how it shows where we came from, all the way back in 1987! Very cool!
If you are able read this through Twitter, please like the post on Twitter to let us know this is working as we intend it to! See you soon!
This is the new badge we’re adopting:
