Hello! Mun Ichigo here! I don’t know if there’s even going to be anyone reading this but I’m not dead. I wanted to get off my chest that lately tumblr roleplay and answering asks has been feeling more like a job than something I can genuinely enjoy so that’s why I haven’t been logging on.. anything. I’m still not sure what I can do for myself to make it feel more like a fun hobby than a job. But!!! I have been doing some discord RPs with some friends on a server and that environment felt much more casual and fun. Naomi, you should know that i can get really creeped out when i see real corpses witch is why when i go to funerals i hope i do NOT see the body

               For the rest of the night, the medical examiner pondered on the root of this phobia. 

Perhaps she has seen enough corpses to desensitize herself.

Hey-yo! This blog isn’t dead. Mun has just been a bit overwhelmed with stuff but I really don’t wanna let this blog go to waste! I have a soft spot for Naomi here and when I decided to dedicate activity on a few of my RP accounts instead all one hundred of them at once.. she was the one of the ones I wanted to focus on. I’ve been notified of all the anon asks when I got them in my e-mail but I’ve been shy about logging on. Thank you anons for not giving up on me *finger guns* I know I’ve got asks and replies but I wanna see if I can get my disorganized self to get on top with life and other blogs first. //In regards to my inactivity, having over a million RP accounts can be a bit difficult to manage even if I have muse for all of them and can easily switch between them on Sessionbox. Sorry about that but I’m a bit motivated to place this blog on higher priority now!  My Naomi muse is still pretty strong. Akihiko wasn’t expecting that sort of question, but alright. He could work with this while keeping everything vague. There hadn’t been a need to outright lie (just omit details) so far, and that question didn’t change that. He just… Needed to choose his words very carefully, was all.

“I got there shortly before he, er, passed away…” Akihiko looked at his shoes as he spoke. “Shinji was tough, so the bullet didn’t kill him right away. I guess it could be considered lucky I got to hear him speak one more time before he was gone, huh?” He could hear the tears he was holding back in his own voice… Just because he had new resolve didn’t mean the death didn’t still hurt.

“B-but yeah, I got there before he died and he talked to me before he died.” He had a feeling that would be her next question, so might as well lay it all out right there and then.

It was clear to Naomi that recalling this experience was emotionally taxing for the boy. Testimonies were always recorded for her with the witness sobbing up being omitted from the recording. She wondered how many times Little Guy had to go through with this.  Moreover, the examiner felt shameful for demanding someone to testify about a subject that would bring him to tears. It was difficult for her to look at the witness in such a sorry state. She hesitated on continuing on for today.. however that’s one more day this mystery killer can go free.

Akihiko admitted to seeing Shinjiro’s last moments of life which confirmed Naomi’s suspicions. However, there was more she wished to know. Specifically, who was the ‘him’ that Shinjiro mentioned. Now how could she go about prying that information?

“If you’re able to, can you remember what his last words were to you?” She requested, the depressing atmosphere appearing to have affected the tone of her normally solemn voice. “I’m sorry, this must be a difficult time for you. Do you know of any other people who were close to Aragaki-san?” Naomi hoped to get an idea as to who ‘him’ was, and also to prevent anymore emotional stress to Akihiko if she could. 

‘When I die, will I too cause this much grieving in those around me?’ She wondered. ‘Perhaps not if I don’t hold any bonds as tight as the deceased does.’

“Look,”

There was a very long pause as the man seemed to consider his response. His eyes were trained carefully on the woman across from him, pupils flicking from her wavy grey hair to the various tiny movements of her clothing and limbs.

“I wanna solve this thing as bad as you do,” he said, finally, drumming his fingers sharply on his thigh, “So ask me whatever you want. But…”

His roving eyes finally settled piercingly on his interrogator’s own.

“…What I say might be a little hard to believe, depending.”

The medical examiner peered intensely back at her suspect. Although she could not see if she was being gazed at by those eyes underneath a pair of sunglasses, she did feel the sensation of being watched. At least he claimed to be equally earnest about solving this case. He claims his testimony might be unbelievable, although..

“Hmph, I find nothing hard to believe these days.” Naomi remarked. She was a surgeon with supernatural abilities and has access to a voodoo hotline. She would believe in just about anything now. “Provided your story sticks to the facts that is. Let’s cut to the chase, did you know the victim of the most recent killing beforehand?”

Akihiko’s best friend had died and he’d found new resolve to move forward. He would face everything: the Shadows, Strega, and life in general head-on. He knew that would be the best he could do, right…? He could mourn, but there was too much to look at in the future to let it control him.

And then a woman asked him to testify on the details of Shinjiro’s death.

“Shinji… Died in an accident.” That was what was reported to most, at the very least. “Some idiot had a gun and it went off. There isn’t really much for me to tell you when it comes to that.” At least, there wasn’t much to tell her in relation to the fake death story everyone had agreed upon. Something like the Dark Hour would just scare and confuse other people… Make the job of S.E.E.S. harder.

“I can try and give you what little I can, though. I didn’t get there until a lot of stuff had already happened, though.” That wasn’t a total lie. He’d totally missed the conversation between Ken and Shinjiro – the thing that would likely have the biggest bearing on the story. Thank god she wasn’t trying to ask the kid about it…

Naomi patiently listened to what Akihiko had testified. It’s consistent to what she knows about the death, but it didn’t add anything new to the case. At least he was able to offer any other details. Though they may be small, anything would provide a step closer to solving the mystery. She would have to press him for more details, as insensitive as it makes her feel for doing so.

The final words the corpse whisperer had listened to suggest that Shinjiro and Akihiko managed to exchange a few words during the former’s last breath. Naomi wanted more details about what happened between the two. She would have to inquire about it subtly of course. Who knows what direction this interrogation would go if her witness learned that she had access to a black magic hotline that could report the last words of dead people. She was discriminated in this country for her supernatural healing abilities before. She’s not going to risk an experience like that again. 

“I see, well let me ask you something. Was Aragaki-san still alive when you discovered his body?”
