Moscow's hold on "annexed" territories looks increasingly tenuous, with none of the regions fully occupied by Russian forces, and as Ukraine's counteroffensives in the east and south maintain their momentum. The U.S. has committed even more firepower to Ukraine's fight. The Biden administration announced another $625 million in military aid to Kyiv Tuesday. In a call with Zelenskyy, President Joe Biden said the U.S. would never recognize the illegal annexation attempts. A Russian-installed official conceded that Kyiv's forces were making gains around Kherson, one of four regions that Moscow "annexed" last week. "It's tense, let's put it that way," Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-installed head of Ukraine's Kherson region, said on state television, according to a Reuters report. Last week that Moscow was "annexing" four regions in Ukraine: Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk "republics" in eastern Ukraine. Kyiv and its allies condemned the move, calling it illegitimate and illegal. EU proposed an eighth package of sanctions on Russia yesterday in response to the referendums, and the U.S. said it will announce more sanctions "in the coming days." The U.K. has already announced 92 new sanctions as a result of the sham votes. It's widely expected that Russian President Vladimir Putin will announce Friday that the occupied regions are being annexed and becoming a part of the Russian Federation. There are widespread fears that Moscow could resort to using nuclear weapons to "defend" what it will then claim is its territory.Meanwhile, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned Russian conscripts sent to fight in Ukraine that they should surrender if they want to survive. "If you want to live, run. If you want to live, surrender. If you want to live, fight on your streets for your freedom. Everything was taken from you anyway," he said on Telegram, addressing the soldiers in Russian.
It is just after 9pm in Kyiv. Here’s where we stand: The US secretary of state, Anthony Blinken, told Volodymyr Zelenskiy the war with Russia was in a “pivotal moment” as Ukraine’s military continues its counteroffensive in the south of the country. AP reports that Blinken told Zelenskiy: “We know this is a pivotal moment, more than six months into Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, as your counteroffensive is now under way and proving effective.” Blinken’s surprise trip to Kyiv came after the United States unveiled nearly $2.7bn in new military support to Ukraine and other European countries threatened by Russia. Blinken travelled in secret on his second trip to Kyiv since the Russian invasion began in February. Blinken approved $2bn in foreign military financing, a programme in which the US offers loans or grants to other nations to buy US-produced weapons. This amount comes on top of the announcement by the defence secretary, Lloyd Austin, of another $675m in military assistance that includes more arms, ammunition and supplies for Himars, the precision-guided rockets that can hit targets as far as 80km away.

Pharmacy will no longer be a defendant in Florida's opioid lawsuit, scheduled for trial in April. The trial will look at the roles various companies may have had in fueling a nationwide opioid epidemic.
Florida has also reached a $194.8 million settlement with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, a $134.2 million settlement with Abbvie's Allergan, and a $65 million settlement with Endo International.
Most of the money will be spent on opioid abatement efforts, and Teva will provide $84 million' worth of its generic Narcan nasal spray, which can temporarily reverse the effects of opioid overdoses.

Gaming is shifting away from hardware dependence to a multiple platform distribution strategy. More gamers are signing up for cloud gaming subscription services, which provide a wide selection of titles. These services are placing more importance on each company's game catalog to attract subscribers.
Providing gamers with the best catalog of exclusive games has always been an advantage for Sony, which owns several studios that have a reputation for developing great gaming experiences. But Microsoft has a major financial advantage over Sony, and it's starting to put that strength to use.

we are to navigate this crisis, politicians will need to respond decisively by introducing a range of new policy instruments that radically alter our approach to the environment.
Nowhere is this change likely to be more visible than in the case of our landscapes. Plant species that may have thrived in the UK in the past will no longer be able to survive as temperatures rise. The species we plant will therefore have to be tailored to the new climatic conditions. This is why the Forestry Commission recently altered its tree planting plans to use tree species that are more resilient to prolonged periods of drought and floods.
