I have a specific end-point and some fixed events that need to be portrayed, so it's a little bit of balling! still, I can't really picture corru.observer being more than 6-7 episodes total (with accompanying ADDs) before we reach all the things I want to show in this particular project. anything else more be entering spinoff/sequel territory... but whatever happens, this is a world I plan to do more with after

it has been a while since the Job Collapse Event.. and im wondering how things are holding up for you!! you did write in the corru.news post announcing the Job Collapse Event that you had connections that could help get ya back with a job, but i dont think i heard a thing about that ever since mid-december 2023.. you did also write that you were saving to quit your job, but im guessing you only planned for a couple of months but not an entire year!! so that begs the question...

did kofi + merch sales help keep you jobless--i mean, afloat? :]

and if so, has it been rocky or stable? and if things have been stable, do you feel surprised?

hello max!! very good question! we're going about a year and a half of 'just working on corru', and no news is good news, in this regard. through ko-fi support and merch, I've been able to slow the burn very much!

it's stable, but it still isn't exactly 'sustainable' - rent is generally covered most months by this support, but other expenses aren't, so I still need to pull from funds in a small trickle and occasionally do some freelance for those old contacts here and there. I'm kind of expecting that to change (positively) with some of my plans to spread C.O in the near future! it's said that businesses are rarely profitable in their first few years, after all

all said, that relative stability was still a surprise, especially last year, during my very long quiet period working on EP4. seeing people stick around on ko-fi and even seeing support slowly grow then was heartening in a very difficult time!

honestly, I have this constant sense of paranoia where if I don't make things fast enough, C.O will wilt and die and it'll all fall apart. I've generally observed corru enjoyers to be patient and understanding, but there's a very vocal part of my brain that's not, and it's much louder!

that feeling has been creeping back in given that we're nearly in June and E4A1, challenging for me in its own way, is still a bit off. I just try to keep in mind that we're trying to do things well and not dwell on it too much.

overall, I'm confident things will be fine! even in a scenario where support suddenly falls off (which seems unlikely to me), I have backup plans!

idk how much you can do about this but on the Firefox version/port(?) (at least for me) the basement is constantly stuck on the low quality version now matter what my settings are. And it's not like everything is like that, it's specifically just the basement.

Interloper's mindspike just gets the 2nd image removed, so it's just a singular spinning png. And the thing is, it wasn't always 2d, this only started happening around the time I unlocked EP4

ahh! someone reported this a week or two ago and I totally forgot to fix it! this is a known bug exclusive to firefox's latest version's CSS changes - still need to find the best way to patch it... what you'd expect to be a simple thing ends up causing this insane visual artifacting where little wires stick out infinitely at certain times.

not the worst, but very strange and distracting. I'll probably have to 'rebuild' this part for FF. but it'll definitely be in my next little silent bugfix update!

Hey, I found a huge visual bug — in the embassy (and maybe other spatial thoughtforms) when I look a certain direction, all the textures seem to unload. I’m running on the latest update of Brave browser

that is indeed a huge visual problem!! I pushed a fix that should resolve this a little earlier today. try hard refreshing if you're still getting it!

some more detail for others who might be curious - the newest version of chromium introduced this weird bug where my 3D CSS transforms just stop being 3D at a very specific angle (if your camera is facing 180deg). the fix was just to add a little optimization css property called "will-change" to the thing that controls the camera's rotation! a fix that's just as unusual as the problem, kinda (wouldn't expect it to have this behavior)

there's probably something going on there with the way it divides GPU/CPU rendering, not too sure. I'm certain it's a bug with chromium CSS itself, but the band-aid seems to work, so I'm not leaping at the chance to engage with chromium's bug report system yet.
