(18TH WEEK)
This week was also our final presentation for our project system. It was supposed to be a fully functional system with a final manuscript to present to our instructor. We really wanted to achieve 100% for our project, but there are still features that need to be implemented.
After our presentation, our instructor gave us comments and suggestions on what we need to improve to make the system fully functional. He also told us that once we fix everything, we can present it again so he can evaluate it and give us our final grade or feedback.
However, after discussing it as a group, we realized we probably won’t be able to fix everything in time because it still needs a lot of work. Even so, we're grateful that we were able to present even if we had to gather all our courage to do it. We didn’t even have permission from the instructor of the other section when we asked to squeeze into the schedule.
Regardless of the outcome, I'm very thankful to our instructor, Sir Carl, for guiding us throughout the semester. Thank you for teaching us not just for our own sake, but for the people we may work with or serve in the future.
As CPE students, studying SDE (Software Design and Engineering) is a significant part of our journey. It's especially important to understand and develop good practices in quality assurance. This subject reminded us of that.

(18TH WEEK)
This week was our final examination. At first, I felt a bit nervous because it was the finals, and I expected the exam to include enumeration, identification, and essay questions. However, I was surprised and relieved to find that it was all multiple-choice, with 50 items and enough time to answer everything comfortably.I was happy because I had reviewed the night before, and I truly hoped I did my best.
I was even more excited because Sir Carl encouraged us to wear custom headbands with themes showing that we were ready to pass the exam—an effort that also earned us bonus points!
Below is the photo taken by Sir Carl during our exam day—such a fun and memorable experience!

(17TH WEEK)
This week, we did not have a face-to-face session. Instead, our instructor advised us to use the time to continue working on the completion of our system project. He also announced that our second quiz for the finals would be conducted online. This was a great opportunity for us to manage our time well and catch up on our requirements.
Below is the quiz that was posted on USTEP, which we were required to take.

(16TH WEEK)
This week was scheduled for the presentation of each group’s project, showing 70% of its overall progress. Our group presented clearly and met the requirements based on the criteria given by our instructor. Although there were a few parts that needed improvement, it was still a good experience. Getting helpful feedback is important for improving our project and making sure we finish it successfully.

(15TH WEEK)
This week, our instructor began discussing Data Visualization, which is important in our project because it helps present data clearly and makes it easier to understand patterns, trends, and results. After the discussion, we were given activities to apply what we had learned. Once we finished the tasks, we ended the session.

(14TH WEEK)
This week, we had a face-to-face session that started with a discussion on Data Mining, which is important for finding useful patterns and information from large data.
After the discussion, we answered seatwork to check if we understood the topic. It was also our project consultation day, where we talked with our instructor about the improvements and revisions needed for our project.

(13TH WEEK)
This week, we had a face-to-face session where we took Part 2 of our quiz, which was the continuation of Part 1 that we completed online last week. The quiz was manageable, especially the problem solving part under the SUS topic. However, I felt that the time was not enough, even though I was confident in my answers.
After the quiz, our instructor discussed the topic of Software Quality Management, which is a crucial aspect not only in our current projects but also in our future careers. It focuses on ensuring that software products meet quality standards, are reliable, and satisfy user requirements making it an essential process in software development. Once the discussion ended, we were dismissed and headed home.

(12TH WEEK)
This week, instead of having our usual face-to-face session, we took an online quiz. This was Part 1 of our assessment, consisting of 48 items and limited to 45 minutes. The shift to an online setup was due to the observance of the Lenten holiday, which is a special occasion for Catholics. I was glad to have passed the quiz, and I was also with my grandmother that day, which made the experience more comforting.
However, our instructor, Sir Carl, informed us that there will be a Part 2 of the quiz—another challenge we must prepare for. HUHUHUUU 😔😔😔

(11TH WEEK)
During this week, our instructor provided us with learning materials and video discussions. It also marked the beginning of our final requirements for the second semester in our SDE subject. We were assigned both individual and group activities, which needed to be submitted in both soft copy and handwritten hard copy. I found the individual tasks manageable, as I was able to apply the knowledge I gained from the videos and materials. The group activities were also smooth to accomplish, especially because our collaboration and teamwork were effective.
This photo presents the topic that was discussed by our instructor:

(10TH WEEK)
Yesterday, March 28, 2025, we had our Midterm PIT Group Presentation for CPE 221 – Software Design and Engineering from 4:30 to 5:30 PM. Each group had 10 minutes to present, and we showcased our Figma design for our proposed system. I didn’t expect that our instructor, Sir Carl, had invited two panelists to give feedback on our presentation. Two of our teammates presented, while I listened and supported them.
After our presentation, the panelists gave comments on what to improve, change, and remove in our design. At the end, Sir Carl also shared his feedback. He seemed a little upset because we forgot to bring our manuscrip, which was our mistake.
Overall, the feedback we received was very helpful. It will guide us in making our project better and more complete.
This photo was taken by Sir Carl after our presentation—thank you, Sir!

(8TH WEEK)
On March 8, 2025, the Figma UI/UX InfoTorial was held at Cafet Hall, and we were required to attend. Unfortunately, I couldn’t go because I only had 5 pesos left. My allowance is only for weekdays, and I was too shy to ask my parents for more since I knew they couldn’t give it.
I felt sad missing the workshop because it was important for my Software Design and Engineering subject. The next school day, I asked my classmates about it and worked on a Figma design with one of them. Our instructor sent the workshop link in our group chat, but only those who attended could share their work.
Even if Sir Carl does not accept my Figma desig, I know that learning is still my responsibility. Thanks sir 🙏
This screenshot is from our two group chats: one for our subject with our instructor and the other for our overall CPE group. I do not own this image.

(7TH WEEK)
On March 5, 2025, we had our second quiz for our SDE subject, covering Topics 3 and 4 for the midterm. The quiz had two parts, Part 1 was multiple choice, and Part 2 was making a diagram. I felt confident because I studied beforehand, but I still missed three points to pass Part 1. Still, I’m grateful because I did my best. For Part 2, I felt comfortable with my answer since it was my own work, and I hope it passes.
Finally, our instructor told us that we won’t have a Lab exam but need to complete all the activities, especially our project. Thank you so much, Sir!
The photo I took during our class was accidentally deleted, but this one proves I was there. (HUHUHU wag pansinin ang skor nakins) 🙈

(9TH WEEK)
March 20, 2025 – Midterm Exam Day!
Yesterday was our midterm exam. It covered our lecture, and we had 3 hours to complete it, from 10:15 AM to 1:15 PM. The exam had three parts: multiple choice, identification, and analysis.
Before starting, I felt 2% nervous but 98% confident because I had studied the night before. However, I wasn't completely sure about all my answers. Maybe my study strategy wasn’t as effective as I thought, especially since I got stuck on the identification part.
The exam was a great experience because we finished in less than the full 3 hours—only about 1.5 hours. The funny part was that I was the last one still answering. Our instructor, Sir Carl, asked if I was done, and I replied, "Just one more question, sir." A minute later, I finally finished. I hope my answers were enough!
Our instructor, Sir Carl, took this photo while we were taking the exam, and some of them were shared in our group chat.

(6TH WEEK)
That day, our instructor, Sir Carl, started the class with a game to boost our energy and mood. I had fun even though my answer was wrong—it was still funny! Thank you for that, Sir! After the game, we had a lecture on Topic 4: User Interface Design & Project Management. Later, we worked on a group activity where we analyzed a picture and suggested ways to improve its design. We discussed what to add or change to make it better. It was a fun activity that helped us think more about software development.

(4TH WEEK)
On February 12, 2024, we had our first midterm quiz covering Topics 1 and 2. The quiz had two parts, Part 1 was multiple choice, and Part 2 was identification or analysis. I felt uncomfortable answering the quiz because I only studied a little, but it’s okay since I still got a score. After the quiz, we were given a group activity to finish in 30 minutes and submit before time ran out.
That day, my group also presented our second project proposal. I wasn’t there for the presentation, but thankfully, our instructor approved our project.

(3RD WEEK)
On February 4, 2025, our instructor couldn’t meet with us because he had to attend an event. However, he already uploaded the materials and activities for Topic No. 2. We were given tasks to complete on time and submit before the deadline. For the other activities that needed to be done with my group, we still needed our instructor’s approval since our project hadn’t been proposed yet. (The left photo shows the discussion for Topic 2, and the right photo shows the activity I finished.)
