Essential MLP Episodes

I’ve decided to write up a list of the essential episodes of My Little Pony, episodes a new viewer should watch.

I’ve marked the episodes with different code words to indicate why they’re worth watching. This is, of course, doubly subjective.

PLOT: The episode has plot significance that affects other episodes.

GOOD: The episode is good.

SONG: The episode has a good song.

Character: For episodes that deal with side characters, I’ve marked them with the particular character. For example, CMC for the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Trixie for Trixie, etc.

Episodes in italics introduce something marginally significant, but could be skipped without much harm. Ex. Twilight’s Owl.
