Week 12 Life Drawing: This week I somewhat enjoyed the face studies; Although they aren't perfectly accurate, it was enjoyable using shadow-shapes to piece it together and add depth. The same goes true but to a higher extend with the shaded figures this week. I can say with confidence that I feel I've improved through these past 12 weeks; marginally on faces and heads and to a bigger extend with whole figures. I just gotta keep up the pace from here.

Week 11 Life Drawing:
- I feel like I've "generally" improved at copying the figure. However I still struggle to achieve good drawings from time to time, In these first figures I felt the need to redo, to make it looser and faster. They would just become stiff and all-round bad experiences until I actively try to be quicker about it; making it flow better but have lower accuracy.
- Though I'm keen to get more practice into hair drawing, I so far have found these studies to be draining to do. It instead of being a pleasant experience of seeing how hair is done, I'm just struggling to get the shapes/proportions correct. The biggest issue was face length/width then the facial features themselves not matching the ref. (Ultimately I know this is just a matter of needing more consistent practice, prior faces done in week 6 went really well for me once I got into the zone)
- As for the self-portrait task, I managed to land on something I'm kind of happy with. I wasn't sure how I was really going to achieve interesting poses or expressions while drawing from a mirror. Then there's the question on if I feel up for adding expression. I decided to essentially capture my internal/external face of recent times. While I'd be tempted to have a happy or excited face, I feel that would be an inaccurate depiction of my current mental state in my life (not to bring the mood down, but that's just my logic of it)

Week 10 Life Drawing: The anatomy of legs are a fun part for me to learn. I've been able to grasp for the most part the shapes and muscle groups. I plan to do more studies + sketches; When drawing figures off the top of my head with proper leg anatomy I find it can sometimes look off or too bulky

Week 9 Life Drawing: Arms for me are so far the most complex and tedious part to tackle. I've come back to it myself twice since this lesson, I'm making good progress on this and intend to continue working on it.

Week 8 Life Drawing: It was very helpful this week diving more into extended drawing durations. I've been taking this into practice when doing several recent homework tasks, drawing as long as I need to and increasing speed gradually back to my preferred pace.
Something I feel could be very useful coming up would be implementing the detailed faces/facial features with the rest of the figure (or the torso+arms at least); All while keeping the face quality and accuracy up. If not in class I should work on this in my own time as well; I feel that would be very useful for me at my stage, aside from more accuracy honing.

Week 7 Life Drawing: This week was very enjoyable, I'm biased though. Years ago I had decided to primarily draw in ballpoint pen when drawing traditionally (a lot due to the smudging of softer mediums). This week was a great excuse to get pen drawing practice in, I've been primarily using graphite lately due to this class. The rendering of my desk items was fun. It was good to try getting a range of tones through hatching.

Week 6 Life Drawing: This weeks focus has been good, I haven't done enough back-anatomy, so this was fun to do. Main issues I have continue to be about my two approaches to figure drawing; 1)observation/focusing on shapes and 2)drawing from construction up to surface forms thinking about each piece and trying to place it together with good proportions. This is why I'll often re-draw some studies to understand it in both ways, so that I may draw it from memory with minimal construction + steps.

Week 5 Life Drawing: It was enjoyable moving into tonal thumbnails, I find it does help to get you thinking in a certain way for painting. Torso anatomy I liked it to an extent; As soon as detailed abdominal placement comes into play I find it very tedious and stressful to lineup well. Its going to take plenty more drawings to get the hang of it.

Week 4 Life Drawing: 100+ Figures; I enjoyed this task, I didn't find it to be too much. Though that could be partly because I decided to do 1minute gesture drawing; with some redraws using extended time to get right. I need to work on improving accuracy despite the time restraint on short-time drawings, the difference is clear when I draw with more time. But I still hold value to quick figure drawing, I'd rather improve at drawing figures quickly than to spend extended time perfecting a single figure; I believe its good to not get too attached to each drawing.

Week 4 Life Drawing: This has been useful diving into facial features, alongside this work I've been putting time into drawing faces and bettering expressions; I find that drawing with the mirror helps a lot.

Week 3 Life Drawing: The tutorials shown this week for hand drawing have been very useful for drawing hands from observation. The next challenge will be drawing hands with this accuracy of a full body and from imagination for that matter.

Week 2 life drawing homework: I enjoyed this exercise, haven't done a self portrait in a while; the only issue i really found was when drawing your own face from a mirror, you can only move so far into extreme angles before you cant see yourself or your drawing. As a result the quality would drop when on strenuous positions

Week 2 Life Drawing: Faces are something i struggle with on certain angles and when drawing from a reference, i've found these in-class exercises to be very useful. Any amount of studies like this help me better faces i draw from imagination. Drawing from the mirror was very fun, i need to do more; it'd be fun too get myself into more dynamic poses for reference.

Week 1 life drawing homework: I find that I enter two different zones/mindsets when either gesture drawing from life or doing observation drawing of people, the latter becomes an exercise in extreme accuracy and measuring which is slower and not as fun honestly. Drawing people that I know from day to day life makes errors even more obvious, particularly my dad's face; its not bad, but not him. I look forwards to getting more gesture drawing done, anatomy practice helps every time.

Week 1 life drawing: i'm happy with how its turned out initially, i've done plenty of gesture/figurative drawing in the past, still plenty to improve upon. This is just lining out my current ability. Already, i'm readjusting how i sketch out the rib cage. As it stands i still prefer to draw with ballpoint pen or anything that doesn't smudge; but this lesson was good in getting me to use pencil some more.

Final adjustments before final in class critique. My last suggestions being to fix up the increase saturation of the character now named Amare. Then also adjusting the details on his clothing to look crudely thrown together through his best efforts. I took inspiration from the textures in frayed cloth, denim in particular.
