i think its so funny that alumni from schools like harvard and columbia that were there during the protests in the 60s-80s are expressing support for students currently protesting against the genocide in palestine, and random zionists that were NOT at these protests in the 60s-80s have the never ending audacity to tell these alumni "well thats different, what you protested was good and what they're protesting is bad." as if protesters against the vietnam war and apartheid south africa were not also demonized, arrested, brutalized, and even killed for their activism. history only remembers them fondly after the damage has already been done.

I rewatched Aaron singing Goodbye from CMIYC and realized the lack of tony nods for him from that show may hurt more than the 2017 tonys

cmiyc… what a show 🤍 i rewatched a boot of it two weeks ago and thought about how it deserved a longer run :( something i’ll always be bitter about. aaron’s last goodbye haunts me. cmiyc is one my favorite things he’s ever been in, genuinely. probably top two.

i went back and looked at the tonys for that year and while i think aaron should’ve been nominated, i’m glad norbert won for lead actor for cmiyc. but also a tough year in terms of nominations; i wonder if aaron had been nominated for best leading actor in a musical, if the votes would’ve been split between him & norbert — and then josh & andrew for BOM, leaving joshua henry or tony sheldon as a winner? i’m not very familiar with tony sheldon’s performance that year either. i’m really glad aaron finally won a tony for rouge. just so hardworking and so talented. love that tenor man fr.

in light of police across the country cracking down on pro palestine protests with brutal force, it feels like a great time to remind everyone to shut the fuck up around cops. don't make small talk, dont act friendly, don't fucking engage with them!! if you are arrested DO NOT speak without a lawyer present. protest organizers, get into contact with local pro bono lawyers who can be there for your arrested comrades. no matter what, if cops are there, shut the fuck up unless you are actively doing a protest chant. dont tell cops why you were there, dont tell them if you're affiliated with the school you may be protesting at, dont tell them if you came there with anyone, dont tell them anything!!!
