“That’s, actually not a bad idea,” Kaito admitted with a thoughtful nod. Mode could eat what she could, and they could sell the rest. Personally, he was not a picky eater and could survive on little food if he had to.

“I like you too, and I appreciate your open consent,” he added. It did make things easier if things escalated. Not that he would mind, Kaito had been in work mode the majority of his life, he only started even thinking about the opposite gender like a typical male because he was travelling with Mode, or it just might be her succubus side influencing him more too.

Either way, he was in good company with whom he could trust. “It’s settled then, let us rest for now,” Kaito decided. There was not much to do with the cold at night. So he cuddled Mode into him more so she could sleep better, and then closed his eyes to join her in slumber, knowing they could both keep each other safe overnight.

The next morning, Kaito looked at Mode in a different light, and not just because the sun was rising. There was a certain sense of beauty he didn’t notice before, maybe because he saw her more as a travelling partner than a woman. His subconscious had him move some hair covering her face, as if wanting to make sure she could see clearly when she woke.

“I’ve only ever worked for my mother. Hmm…” She thought about what else she could do. “We could hunt animals together then eat them & sell their parts.” Pe could technically eat any being in its entirety, but she assumed Kaito couldn’t. He probably only ate the meat. “Two for one.”

“You can kiss me anytime you want.” Mode offered. “I like you enough. We can always do more than kissing, too.” She definitely wouldn’t mind more of him. He looked tasty. The succubus had always thought so.

Anyone can see this is obviously love. You’ll get sick of it if you’re with me all day. Even if I turn around, it’s all you. Because maybe it’s love.

// To Do List [Kaito x Dez] - Part 9

Kaito closed his eyes, relaxing at her touch. They were so delicate and soothing, it was pleasantly surprising, how drawn he was to Dez. He just wanted to be in her presence, and despite being away from his home office, he somehow worked more productively when he was at her place. It was strange, but it wasn’t a bad thing, with how comfortable she was with him too, sitting on his lap like she did.

“It seems to be the case here,” he agreed. It reminded him of a cat someone mentioned in a conversation he heard in passing, the owner would be stuck where they were once their cat got comfortable on them. Was he comparing Dez to a cat? Kaito wasn’t exactly a cat person, though he didn’t own any pets, Dez could be affectionate like a feline.

“Sleepover?” Kaito looked hesitant at first, it would be easier for him to head home as usual. But it would mean what he said before would amount to all talk and no action. Dez definitely deserved more of his visits, and he enjoyed her company too. With her request, just for tonight, he could be self serving some other time, he couldn’t say no to a friend.

“Alright, I can sleep over tonight, it will be the start of my commitment to putting you on the top of my to do list,” he decided with a faint smile. Kaito was pushing himself to do what was right, by helping his friend sleep better by being beside her, a commitment that would eventually grow to become much more.

“Why don’t we order something for tonight? What are you feeling?” Kaito asked her, now that he was staying for the night, he might as well order something from one of the food delivery apps.

"Good." She spoke with a smile as she reached up and curled her fingers through his shaggy locks. Her eyes lifted up to him as she sighed happily and she soon shifted to being on his lap. She didn't initiate anything, she just curled into a more comfortable state on his lap. Laps were the best place to sit after all. Her eyes closed as she played with his hair and she relaxed against him. "Mmm.. Because you're too comfortable to leave me.. You're stuck here until I want to get up." Clearly she was playing around, but she was very comfortable snuggling against him. "Can we do a sleepover tonight? I sleep better snuggled against you." Just friends or more.. she wasn't afraid of the emotional intimacy they were sharing.

It was Kaito’s birthday on the 10th, so let me fanboy about him and his blogs for the rest of the week, lmao

@kaito-yuki - Kaito’s Fairy Tail verse, this was the first verse for Kaito on Tumblr, where I first expanded on his verses, which included other fandoms.

@kaito-akimoto - Kaito’s Naruto verse, OG Kaito, first started on a Naruto High School AU role-play forum. I'm still in touch with an online friend I met there, whose OC I've low-key inserted into Kaito’s backstory as his cousin, Keiko.

@cc-mha-plus-ultra-ocs - for My Hero Academia OCs, which helped me branch out my other OCs based around Kaito.

And this blog here, I decided to just keep for my OCs and their verses here instead of mixing them in with canon multi-muses, if there’s enough inspiration to branch to another separate verse on a blog, it’ll probably be a Marvel OC blog (with a Spiderman Kaito AU).

Still, I am loving Kaito’s modern and fantasy verses here, and look forward to more world-building in them, with my OCs involved too!

OC Kaito - Squid Game AU

Kaito is put into a version of Squid Game in Japan, a friend he was helping with money/gambling problems framed him for fraud, then went off the grid. Kaito is then desperate for the money in order to clear his name. This friend is later revealed to be one of the gunmen shooting the players, and even tries to help Kaito win the games so they can split the prize money. However, Kaito refuses based on his own principles of fairness, even if it is a death game.

Kaito becomes the sole winner and uses the money to clear his name and start a new life, though he is determined to disrupt or stop the next games with the help of a cousin in the police force.

Her scream broke the silence of the night they shared. She had grasped at her own chest as she bolted up straight. Her nightmares were always so vivid as she struggled for breath, but in no time she felt Kaito's arms around her and pulling her close as he spoke to her.

She felt so bad waking him.. she felt terrible knowing he was going to worry about her.. But she clung to him with all of her might as if letting go would take away the only good thing she had in her life.

"It felt.. so real.." He knew so little of her past despite their lives together. She hated talking about it.. but she was sure he could at least piece together her past was hard from the nights she spoke in her sleep or cried.. "It was.. so real.."

"..." Kaito held onto Dez protectively, trying to calm her with his presence, trying to reassure her that she was safe with him. Yes, it was just a nightmare, but that didn't lessen the impact it had on her. It didn't matter if it was real or not; if it was real to her, and she was terrified.

He gathered it was probably an ex from her past, but it was not his place to make her tell him, even if they were dating now.

"I can't even imagine what you are going through, Dez," Kaito spoke gently, lightly combing her hair with his fingers in comfort. The only thing he could think of to help Dez, was to offer and reassure her that she had a safe space with him. "But if you ever want to, talk about it. I'll be here, ready to listen."

"Yeah, and that's a good thing too," Kaito replied with a gentle smile. He was happy for Dez; grateful that she'd have a break from her nightmares.

It was hard, being unable to help her, not even his technology could have him dive into her dreams to protect her from the terrors within. So Kaito did what he could do as her friend, her boyfriend, just being ready to comfort her. There was no preventing or fixing things like this; it was something Dez had to mentally fight on her own, but he was not going to let her feel alone while he was around.

"Let me get you a drink, your usual?" he offered, after a kiss on her forehead.

[Late] Father’s Day - Headcanons

Modern: I honestly (still) don’t know what to do with Kaito’s parents, so I might make Kaito an orphan until I figure something out haha.

Kaito has a grandfather who lives in a more rural area away from the city. They do not get along since his grandfather is anti-technology, and wanted Kaito to run the family dojo (that teaches karate and/or kendo) at one point.

+ Karate Kid inspired: after feeling powerless from an incident/fight, Kaito seeks out his grandfather to learn how to defend himself (and/or a loved one)

Fantasy: Kaito’s father was a demon/monster hunter who left home for work and never came back, Kaito became a hunter not only to send money back to his mother, but to also look for his father.

"Well," Kaito started, thinking thoroughly. At this point, they might as well fake it till they make it to survive. Still though, first they had to make some money, stealing while wrong, also wasn't feasible long term either to keep a low cover.

"Alright, how about we look for work as a couple? Then to celebrate, I will take you out for dinner, that should lead to a special kiss," he suggested. Then at least Kaito wouldn't be weird about kissing her, even as a thank you to a friend.

She pouted, disappointed. “How can we make it special?” Pe didn’t give up just yet.

The female still snuggled into him regardless, wiggling her butt around. She was plenty warm now, just hungry. Brown eyes stared at nothing in front of them.

"Fire magic, incredible..." Kaito looked at the flame in fascination, having not much time to dabble in magic, though he did experiment with ice magic at one point. "But that should be enough, we just need something to distract them."

"What I bought from you should suffice, but just in case," Kaito answered as he looked around, seeing a pair of daggers. "May I?"

He wasn't sure if he should be paying her not for them, but extra weapons would help him in the long run anyway. The hunter looked at the succubus with apologetic eyes, wanting to apologise again; she and her shop would have been fine if he hadn't visited.

“Hm?” She tilted her head. “I don’t know any other way except with fire and a fan.”

Mode grabbed a fan & created a small flame in her hand, fanning it to show the effect.

“I don’t know enough magic to create a plentiful amount of smoke myself.”

“What else do we need?” Pe inquired. She would put on some light armor under her clothes in a moment.
