i'm not going to speak for MO, but i'd not like a partner talking about me like this. first and foremost... can you please not talk about your wife as if she were a dog in training? "i did this in order to have my wife stop doing this annoying thing and she stopped doing it!" do you seriously not understand how condescending this is? that's a full grown adult with a whole life separate from you, not a child or a pet. second of all, you're not teaching anyone to reevaluate themselves as to what they're apologizing for with this. you're just teaching them to not use those specifics words around you for you not to question them about it. you didn't change the mentality that makes the persona apologize all the time, you just taught them that you don't want to hear it. which might be great for you, because they stopped doing the thing that annoyed you, but it's not really helping them either. in general, if someone has an habit of apologizing all the time for anything (which can be a sign of low self steem or trauma so maybe don't just treat it like a nuisance, especially coming from your own wife), i personally found a lot more helpful to teach them new phrases to replace "sorry"s with more positive and affirming phrases.

Poetry Comics Month Guest Artist: Madeleine Jubilee Saito
@madeleinejubileesaito is a cartoonist living on Duwamish land in Seattle, Washington. She makes deeply reflective and spiritual comics on subjects like the climate crisis and also teaches workshops on poetry comics. For the past decade she’s drawn a daily poetry comic during the month of November—truly an incredible feat. The way her drawings connect the inner and outer world feels like looking out a window. Find Madeleine’s newsletter at madeleinejubileesaito.net/about and follow her on instagram @madeleine_jubilee_saito.

Q:What is crab day?
A: well, a celebration of how strangely cursed our little corner of the internet can be. It's also a community lead funding. Push. Tumblr costs money to run, if we want to keep our little corner of the internet it's weird unique self, we're going to have to foot part of the bill.
Q: when is crab day?
A: July 29th. I would have preferred a slightly longer lead time to get the word out better, But we work with what we can get and July 29th has already gotten some traction in other groups.
Q: how do I participate?
A: buy a mutual crabs, or if you're broke, crab post crab memes.
Q: why crabs?
A: because admit it. most of us would love to get or give crabs to a mutual.

This is the entire observable universe squeezed into one image.
Musician Pablo Carlos Budassi was drawing hexaflexagons for his son’s birthday party favors, when he got the idea to make a logarithmic view of the universe, which he created by using Photoshop to combine logarithmic maps from Princeton with NASA photos.
Budassi’s illustration features our solar system at the very center, followed by “inner and outer planets, Kuiper belt, Oort cloud, Alpha Centauri, Perseus Arm, Milky Way galaxy, Andromeda galaxy, nearby galaxies, Cosmic Web, Cosmic microwave radiation, and Big Bang’s invisible plasma on the edge.“
