💎 - Chosen family (including warband)

Nero is a legionary. They joined as a teen for the promise of shelter and steady meals. Growing up being the only one looking out for themself and running from settlement to settlement was hard. They were already fucking around with gender from a young age so passing as a man wasn't an issue for them, they were quite fine with that for the most part.

They get along mostly fine, get ragged on enough. They were pissed when they got assigned as courier. They thought it was stupid. The freedom was kinda nice, would be better if they could present however they felt though.

🍑 - Notable flings

The most notable is Toni! Nero is very smitten with her and do so love those hanging around her and hooking up around Flagstaff

In canon, they're a Cassmancer. Fool felt some kinda way about her at first sight. And spent out of their time in the Mojave stumbling around trying not to fumble her.

They also went a round with Fisto, for science

💢 - Person they can't stand

Arcade. He gets on their nerves, grates on them. He was not long in the party. Also Boone, they akrted ways with some nasty scars on Nero, and Boone down his dominant eye.

They have a pretty good relationship with James Garret. Lots of work for him, and a nice room to stay in while in the area. They like him, he's a good guy.

Getting back into writing bits and pieces of Gage and Gamma’s weird little story again as I do every so often, and I just frickin’ love Gamma.

It’s interesting because the story is from Gage’s perspective throughout so you don’t get to see Gamma’s own weird ass journey of self-discovery in it directly. It just peeks through the cracks every so often. 

For the first time in two decades, Gamma is basically without any supervision what so ever. I do imagine Coursers have a degree of freedom, which Gamma toed the line of constantly, but this is different. He’s no one’s dog. He’s no one’s weapon. He doesn’t actually have to report to, return to, answer to anyone. As soon as he realized that the Institute was gone, he went into survival mode because they didn’t raise a fool. But, the more time that passes, the more it hits him in waves.

He chops off his long hair before he even gets to Nuka-World, dyeing upper-cut portion some notorious purple color. ‘For safety,’ he says as he smiles at himself in the mirror. He looks different for the first time in years, and it’s so exciting to see that he can kind-of change, synth be damned. But! It’s just for safety, just that. That’s all.

He ditches more Institute-leaning dark heavy clothes almost as soon as he becomes Overboss, stealing bits and pieces from the Pack and the Operators instead, because he wants to fit in with his little minions, of course. Humans are so base-line. Wear their cheap, awful shit and they just instantly bond with you more. It’s pathetic. And yes, the tiny purple sloth doll hugging his leg is absolutely apart of this charade too, duh. Same with the dozens or so of them up at Fizztop on his bed, it’s just for show. That’s all.

And, most importantly, he shoves back against Gage. A lot. Because he may not be aware of it, but Gage definitely becomes Gamma’s weird ass Institute proxy. Because he said to have fun, to put on a good show, to kill Colter, tame the gangs, take over the parks and Gamma doesn’t say no. Gamma doesn’t entirely know how to say no. No wasn’t something the Institute taught him but he pushes back. He kills Colter, but not with that stupid squirt gun. He takes over parks, but refuses to put up flags (he’ll make Gage do it instead). He sasses and pokes fun of and dances around and is generally an obnoxious little shit, figuring out all the boundaries they have between each other and sticking his fingers deep inside of them too. 

Because it’s fun. Because for the first time in his life, Gamma doesn’t have to answer to someone if he doesn’t want to and he keeps slowly digging his way around that and to understandings of what that actually means.

courier and benny are a silly divorced couple that get divorced as a sport and have scheduled makeout sessions on tuesday afternoons. courier and ULYSSES however are a tragic love story where ulysses fell in love from afar and then had to face the conflict of if the love for the courier or the love of his home was greater. he was torn to pieces, seeing his home destroyed and seeing the courier walk away, feeling abandoned by someone who never even knew his true feelings, and clamored to find someone to blame, only finding the courier at his fingertips. the love turned to a hatred, but he never truly could let go of those feelings, and when everything was over he couldn’t help but feel unaccomplished, like he hadn’t fixed anything. he had gone so far for revenge only to feel emptier than before. *taps the mic* is this thing on
